Hi, I kinda wanted to do a mech-kinda thing using a system that is more or less the same as the third edition of the Simple D6 system. Features will include mech customization, easy to grasp rules, and explosions. Any takers?

It'd help if you had a bit more details on what you have in mind.

Setting, power levels, that kind of thing.

I'm still hammering things out, but I've got the system down. The game system I have in mind works on skills, the more of them you have that help in a given situation, the easier the roll. I modify the system so that skills are associated with various mech-parts. Such as a rifle-type weapon giving you a 'Medium Range' skill or somesuch. The setting is a future earth, where all the various nations become demilitarized, and rely on groups of small PMC's (You guys) to wage war.

So... kind of Gundam-esque, in terms of mechs and how they work and how powerful they are?

Armored Core is kind of coming to mind here with the PMC stuff

Anyway, I'm up for this since I'm a sucker for mechs

Not really Gundam, more... military. More spartan, functional designs as opposed to things like faces and head-crests.
For one thing, hands are not standard, and the closest things you get are more akin to claws, or industrial lifting equipment, no fingers.

I was thinking of 08th MS Team, which seems closer to that. :P Anyway, that does sound good to me.

Do you know anyone else that might be up for this? I'd prefer to have a group of four plus me if possible.

Well, that's three. I think this is minimum, and I'd prefer one more guy, but if you guys wanna get started we can.

I think we might be able to get a fourth guy on board. But he was a bit unsure about the "no arms" thing. :P Presumably he still can have those if he wants though, just not as a default thing?

Depends on the system you have in mind. There are a few rulesets you can find online for free; Giant Guardian Generation and Zodia Sunset, while based on more of an anime feel, can easily transition to a more Battletech setting.

The simple d6 system, which is a generic ruleset applicable to anything. it's also really easy to learn, ridiculously uncomplicated, and easily moddable.
