@Dynamo Frokane Men having crushes on other men should be more normalized. We talk about lady crushes all the time and they're seen as very acceptable but the opposite is not. (Though that may have more to do with women loving men's obsession with lesbianism)

It's very unfortunate and I honestly hope we start leaning toward a world where exploring one's sexuality without rigid definitions one way or another is more acceptable. Especially since sexuality is so weird and fluid and prone to changing anyway.

Hopefully knowing that at least some of us won't judge you for that helps you feel more comfortable with it. :)

@Cynder Well at least you know I'm not too spooky :P

You're totally spooky. This is true. I'm just a little hesitant to reach new grounds on the Guild sometimes. Haha.

Well I think within the LGBT community a man crushing on another man is probably very accepted, but I don't consider myself LGBT, I see myself as very hetero. I think the straight community need to be more open minded to these phenomena, especially with something as intentionally confusing a RolePlay, where I'm literally placing myself in fantasy every time I post or read a post.

Eh I wouldn't be so sure given the bad reactions to bisexual people and the 'gold star lesbian' nonsense. (Basically you're a 'better lesbian' if you've never slept with a man which is awful and shaming people's experiences in life)

Even the LGBT community can be nasty about stupid things. Really nasty.

Bingo! Anything other than gay, lesbian, or straight is mentioned you go through three stages of bullshit.

First it's people convinced it doesn't exist. (Could be any label. Asexual, bisexual, demisexual, etc.)

Then it's people knowing it exists but detests the group.

Then it's the people who mean well but 'would never date a 'x' because -insert really awful reason here usually about them being tainted by he opposite sex or them being broken somehow-'

@Rica Yeah, I know someone who's bi and had her girlfriend leave her for "not being gay enough". Why is bisexuality (or any sexuality other than gay or straight) so difficult for some people to understand? She's with someone who has a better attitude now, though.

@LuckyBlackCat There's a lot of misunderstandings about sexualities outside of Gay/Lesbian/Straight and a lot of assumptions being made. It's horrible and while I identify as demisexual with high homosexual leanings now (or, when I don't feel like explaining what demisexual actually means, "queer") I dealt with a lot of the biphobia nonsense in high school.

Had a "best friend" who was one of those stereotypical "Nice Guys" because he wanted to fuck me who put down my sexuality a lot and tried to pull the 'if you're dating a guy you're straight now' nonsense when I was with my ex-boyfriend.

Still I'm happy for your friend :) I'm glad she's found someone who accepts her for who she is and understands that bisexual isn't 'half-gay' and that it's it's own sexuality.

Can vouch that the LBGT+ crowd hasn't been very welcoming to me because I mostly identify as bi (though I've been hesitant to say that as labels scare me, lol. My family thinks of me as bi, so I guess that's what I am).

@Rica Reminds me of something my dad said when I used "queer" as an umbrella term. He said, "Isn't that considered offensive?" When I explained that we'd reclaimed the word, he said, "Can't you just say gay instead?" Facepalm. This was while I was trying to explain the community to him, too. I think he recognises other sexualities now, though. He just didn't know much about the issues at the time.

@Cynder That's unfortunate :( At least you won't get that here!

@LuckyBlackCat My dad doesn't quite get it either. He goes by the 'I don't care and it doesn't matter' so he's supportive in the sense it's not a big deal but he doesn't understand and so sometimes criticize people because he doesn't understand you have to make your queerness a personality trait practically just to find other queer people.

Being silent means being alone.
