"My sister is none of your concern." Leanne snapped at him before he ran off. She was sick of everyone talking or comparing her to her sister. River was a seperate person, very different than Leanne. River was the child her parents got right. She tensed up slightly and stared at him with anger as he ran back to the bar.
Sighing she turned back to Dmitri.
"At this point, it may be safer for you to stay behind me. Just don't pull anything funny, alright? I rather not have to kill you or have anyone else get killed. Especially my little sister." Lea knew that made her sound weak and vulnerable, but if she was gonna get back without this guy slicing her throat when she turned her back to him, she needed his sympathy. Pity was her best angle. she could always work with it.
"Stay behind me. You should be fine. My sister is alot smarter than that one, and is more sympathetic than me so I doubt she'll put a bullet between your eyes." Her tone had grow cold and tired. Almost like she was about to give up on everything. LEa started to walk back to the bar somewhat sluggish until she picked up pace watching someone run away from the bar.
'What the hell?' she thought to herself them turned her attention to Marcus waiting outside the bar.
'Great. I'm in for it.'
River looked at Jace in utter surprise and walked in the direction the girl ran. It was rare to see living people, let alone so many in one day in such a small town. Not once had River ran into so many.
'Is this an obvious place? Are there groups of people around here?' She began to ask herself. Most of it just didn't add up. Her sister she knew would be here. But Marcus and Jace were total surprises. Marcus she had known, and grew to not trust. But she didn't even know Jace and was completely unsure if trusting him was the right call. He did give them food, which was helpful and kind. Something people nowadays didn't do. People fight over food now. OR scavage, perhaps even steal. But he didn't.
"Well, that was weird to say the least." River said back to Jace.
"Should we continue our search? I'm a bit concerned what we might find at this point. This town looked prety picked clean when I can through. Maybe my siste knows which places are still in tact. What do you think?" she was unsure of everything at this point and the stress was starting to get to her. She just wanted to get back on the road and go back to the mountains of Colorado.
It wasn't too ruined there. The city sure was, but the mountains still remained as gorgeous as ever. It would be a great place to wait out danger. At the same time it was a was to any town and those towns had been pretty rummaged when she left.
'Is the base really there? Is it a trap?' River kept weighing her options and thinking about everything. Soon she would drive herself crazy if she kept it up and she knew that so she cleared her mind as thought about that moment. The now she was in.
