...you know you're teleporting Samus into an ocean tile, right? That's fine; it's just that she'll have to swim. Suddenly.

She's got her ship and was teleported while inside it, so she'll have to make some pretty drastic course corrections to begin with in order to compensate for suddenly having gravity.

When you answered my question, what did you mean when you said "Plantinum works"? Or where you not talking to me when you said that? (Sorry if I sound rude or am being a nuisance.)

I'll add an accepted characters part to the first OOC post shortly. Check there if you've been accepted. Or look at this post later, when I edit it in. Then I'll go put up a post about what some massive frakkin' bears find when they wander into 8,6. And then I'll PM whatsername about where, roughly, their character's going to appear in 5,6. Oh, and I should update the map with that new faction in (what was it, 9,10?). Let me know if I missed something.

And maybe I'll start throwing in a bit of plot, too (I do, in fact, have a couple of things in mind).
That's Samus Aran and Barry accepted (assuming Barry has platinum armor, of course).
That should be everything. Congrats on finding the minecraft hex (maybe not that much of a surprise). Beware, as hostile mobs will spawn at night in unlit areas. Specifically Skeletons, Creepers, Zombies, and Spiders.

Honestly did not see that coming and I have no idea how I didn't see the warning signs :P
My bears are currently tripping balls and I'm trying to figure out what reaction I'm going to post xD

I was honestly hoping that everyone in the RP would post around the same time, it seems I was mistaken. I'll have a post up around noon my time. (Currently 4:20am.)

So, how do you want me to post? Should they just wake up, brush their teeth, have breakfast, stare out the window, and notice that Dragonmount has gone?

Sorry about the short break everyone; I just needed a few days away from this RP. But I'm back now. I should've told you; I know. I will in the future.
KabenSaal - Pretty much, yes. You could be particularly aggressive and try to make contact in your first post. It seems like the meat of this RP's going to come from interaction with other factions and exploitation of the GM hexes. At least, until the lone intelligence screws up, which I'll have happen after people are interacting a bit more. And then I'll reveal my ideas for a plot.

I love the dress in your avatar by the way. It looks so good.

And, to go off, or get back on, either way. How is The Source in this new and strange world?

I'm so jealous of that girl; you have no idea.

Interesting. As far as I understand (correct me if I'm wrong), the One Power turns the Wheel of Time and comes from the Source. The Wheel of Time is more-or-less a "loom" that "weaves" the multiverse (or a multiverse) into existence, carefully manipulating people and lives (as "threads") to acheive a desired outcome (the "Pattern").

Assuming that to be true, here's my theory:

The Wheel of Time controls a subset of universes (a "Multiverse") amongst a wider field of universes (which I'll label "the Greater Multiverse"). The Source is, therefore, pervasive throughout the Greater Multiverse, and the Creator was just a damnedly clever being that harnessed it. The Creator harnessed the Source in a very particular manner so that it could power the Wheel of Time and manipulate its Multiverse into following the Pattern. It (they? he?) made this cosmic engine called the One Power.

So the Lone Intelligence, being a sufficiently advanced alien with the ability to travel through time, space, and the Greater Multiverse, swooped in and stole a hex of people from the Creator's Multiverse that happens to be particularly dense with both sides of the One Power. I'd imagine that the Lone Intelligence is manipulating the One Power to control its creation of the Patchwork Universe. It's using it to selectively and sporadically power its ships engines, etc. The Lone Intelligence probably has some constellation-sized capacitors somewhere in the Patchwork Universe that it stores all this raw power in. Given the Lone Intelligence's time-travelling abilities, it can then tap into said stellar capacitors and borrow however much power it wants from the future. Of course, given its concern with experimental integrity, it won't abuse its time travelling abilities any time soon.

But the Lone Intelligence is really not nearly so smart as it thinks it is; the Wheel of Time is still trying to correct the Patchwork Universe to bring it in line with the Pattern. The Lone Intelligence has, in fact, noticed strange instabilities in the Patchwork Universe, and has set up an entire galaxy to compute the proper changes that need to be affected to prevent any unintended consequences leaking down onto the planet Patchwork.

So what's all that mean for your faction?

Hmm. At the very least, I bet the One Power feels very different. Probably more raw and easily uncontrolled.

Then there's the issue of Ta'veren. The Wheel (which can only manipulate your hex) wants to create as many as it can to bring the Patchwork Universe in line with the Pattern. Meanwhile, the Lone Intelligence's ship (and computational galaxy), is fighting to keep the number down to only the Ta'veren that came with your hex, and maintain the hex pattern set up at the beginning.

That's my theory. What do you think?

After reading that, this is my brain.

Really, what I thought about that was 'The Patchwork is a Giant Balestrain on the Pattern' Just, without the Balefire. But, with the Wheel straining so much to bring this new place in line with everything else to begin with, the use of Balefire would be exceptionally greater than it would be usually.

So, simply, Sadain is feeling more like Sadair, but how is the Taint on Sadair? Being strained though from the world of The Dragon to the Patchwork world would certainly affect how it channels, but how would the Taint that the Dark One put on it work?

And on the topic of Ta'veren, Rand is the strongest one in history, so with him on Patchwork, The Wheel - it seems we have created a semi-sentient opposition to the Lone Intelligence with this - would have a good footing for the change, but would require more to fully work it in. So, would there be Orks suddenly spawning the ability to make crazy stuff happen around him, or would the Ta'veren simply pop into Patchwork the way everyone else has?

FInally, how would the 'bubbles of evil' work on Patchwork? On the World of the Dragon, They happened in many strange different ways, with one of the more notable ones was Rand being attacked by a dozen mirror beings, while he was staring into it.

Sorry for being such a bugger with this, but its good food for thought.

Hello,
I am sorry for doing this but, I am going to drop out. I love the idea but, I don't think I have enough experience and commitment to contribute. I might try again later but, I am done for now.

OKAY, so in the wake of Joegreen dropping out (sorry to see you go, btw, but it happens to the best of us) I'm going to say sorry it's been so long since my last post, but I WILL have one up shortly. IRL has been pretty hectic and it's caused me to fall behind a couple of the RP's I'm in, but I'm in the process of catching up!

KabenSaal:
Ta'veren (out of order because the other RP'ers might be interested in this) - Oh, that's being settled on the far side of the planet. Trust me, the far side needs Ta'veren way more than the near side. The Lone Intelligence is (foolishly) using the far side as a "glitch buffer" for all the things that should logically make this planet implode in a poof of mixed scientific laws, weather patterns, and yin and yang/good and evil balance. The Wheel is going to play a role in the Lone Intelligence's major screw up that's coming up soon-ish.

Taint on Sadair - Still there. The Lone Intelligence's computational galaxy, as a matter of fact, is simulating it. If you pay a whole hell of a lot of attention, you might be able to sense some greater intelligence effecting Sadair as the computational galaxy (which is really somewhat sentient; no computer that big won't be) ((AND WHO DOESN'T THINK A SENTIENT GALAXY IS COOL)) unintentionally rubs off on the simulated taint.

Bubbles of Evil - "It is indicated in A Memory of Light that bubbles of evil are actually the effects, propagated backwards in time, of the Dark One's final onslaught against Rand al'Thor at the end of Tarmon Gai'don." - the wiki. The bubbles would happen, but the computational galaxy is working fiercly to localize them to the White Tower hex (and then the shoving the overflow onto the far side of Patchwork). The bubbles would also be different - less overtly hostile, and more weird. Several would be laws of physics from the various alternate universes suddenly asserting themselves, while others would be the standard "something suddenly animates and tries to kill people". Point being that they're not from the effects of just Rand vs. The Dark One, but also the effects of the Wheel Multiverse vs. the Lone Intelligence.

More?

Joegreenbeen:
Thanks for your honesty!

Dingo:
So long as you post.

Seriously though, don't worry about it. I've had that feeling. If you ever need a break, I can take temporary control of your faction if you're okay with that.

Ta'veren: So, with you saying that the Far Side of the Gallery Planet needing so much re-writing, would the Wheel try to convince Rand to go there, while the Lone Intelligence tries to stop him so the Wheel can't bugger with it's plans?

Taint on Sadair: From how I read it, there is no real way to not pay a whole hell of a lot of attention to the Taint, and Sadair as a whole. So, the Taint would still feel Tainty, but just without that feeling of the Dark One behind it, and instead replaced by something a lot more different?

Bubbles of Evil: I haven't actually read AMOL but that sounds like a really cool idea. So, with this new world, your as likely to get attacked by your hairbrush as you are to suddenly morph into one of the Gurahl?

1. Yes, basically.
2. Also yes.
3. Also also yes. Though only in your hex and the far side of the planet.
