The Doctor groaned and rolled over on his bed, He felt like he had been trampled on by Judoon . He was achy and rather tired. He sat up gasping, his Pyjama's drenched in sweet, his stomach was aching as well. He slowly forced himself out of bed and went to go and have a shower and grab something to eat, He didn't even want to eat, but he knew he should to avoid it seeming obvious he wasn't hungry. He sighed and barely could finish. He yawned and walked into the console room when he was done. He coughed as he did. His head felt all fuzzy. He officially hated this.

He had been feeling ill for days, but he hadn't told Donna. He didn't want her to worry about him. Plus he knew that there was still a lot to do. He sighed leaning on the console thinking, he wished at least he didn't have a headache, It was making it hard to think. Even when he tried to have breaks there just wasn't the time for them. Something always roused him from his rest, He was sure he really did need one, but he couldn't stop. At least Donna was still asleep for now and wouldn't notice he was coughing and feeling ill at the moment.
The Doctor wasn't sure how much longer he could even hide it for, He was sweating and looking pale. He wasn't sure how much longer he could carry on when he couldn't barely focus.

He coughed more and went to go and get some water hoping to at least sooth his cough, Sleeping earlier than usual and a lot more was bound to get suspicious to Donna. He sipped more of his water before going back to the console and trying to seem less ill. He was looking at something on the screen which caught his attention, There was something interesting going on, he waited for Donna to wake before he started up the TARDIS. He hoped he wasn't going to sound like he was losing his voice. That was always a give a way that he wasn't well.
"Hello Donna. Sleep well?" He was smiling a bit, though it was almost not a real smile as he just felt terrible. He did hate lying to his friend, but he found it hard to admit he was ill , he had never succeeded in being open about such things.

He waited to see if she had noticed anything off about him. He hoped that she wouldn't, he was sure he would already have a fever, He went back to the console and pulled down several levers and pressed buttons. He knew he had barely been able to finish what he was eating lately as well. He didn't want to throw up so he was trying to avoid food, but since he knew Donna would find that strange he had done his best to eat something. Today had been the hardest as he had woken up feeling sick to his stomach, which he knew he would probably regret it later. When he had reached the destination, He had landed the TARDIS.

He coughed more and rubbed his head, There was still so much to do. "Allons-y," he said. Though he barely was able to shout it this time. Sleeping and resting was boring and he wanted to explore the planet they had just set foot on. He wasn't counting on getting injured or anything bad happening. Even if he was ill, he knew he wasn't going to stop, he had been carrying on for days when he was ill. He was sure Donna hadn't noticed then, though it had been less obvious that the time lord wasn't well, then it was slowly becoming. He wasn't keen on the medicines that he would be forced to take either.
He was so tired, but the universe always needed him.

Stifling a yawn, Donna wandered in the consoled room, stretching her arms as she did so. She found the Doctor manically pressing buttons and pushing random levers, although something seemed a bit...odd. His movements were more rigged and his skin seemed pale and clammy. Before she could say anything, he spoke first, asking her if she had slept well.

"Like a log." Donna replied lightly, smiling at the Time Lord. Yet again, before she could speak, the TARDIS landed with a thump and the Doctor was already edging to go. However, Donna got quite the shock when he began to cough. His normal, bouncy 'Allons-y' sounded hoarse and cracked. She was beginning to worry. She slowly began to walk over to him.

"You alright, Spaceman?"

"Yep, perfectly fine, maybe a little tired." The Doctor replied. He was still trying to push it aside. He knew she would have noticed him cough. "Of course I'm fine." he hadn't noticed that he had already stated he was fine. He was shivering a bit. His fever was making it hard to comfortable. He knew he should probably be curled up in bed. But he really didn't want to do that. He just walked out of the TARDIS looking around him.
"Are you coming Donna?." he was looking around at the planet they were on. he was amazed by it. He grinned with excitement, even if he was ill, he was still determined to enjoy it. He grunted because of his stomach, but he wasn't stopping.

He wasn't as energetic and was finding it hard to be cheerful. His body seemed to be begging him to stop, he ended up being slower than Donna , an not really dashing ahead. He coughed again and he had dark shadows under his eyes. He looked rather terrible. He saw that there was two suns. He thought that was rather interesting, though everything in the universe was rather interesting too him.
He really did feel sick and occasionally would stop and clutch his stomach. Yeah he really couldn't seem to hide it any more. But he still didn't want to stop. He felt like he was always needed and didn't want to miss out of the fun.

"So what do you think?" he asked her, He was trying to keep the conversation away from his health. He was sure as time wore on he wouldn't enjoy walking around because he felt ill, He breathed deeply trying to keep control of his stomach, that was threatening to betray him with each step.

Even though he said he was fine, Donna knew something wasn't right. With every step, he seemed somewhat weak and fragile. But every time she tried or wanted to say something, he would get there first. When he turned and asked her if she was coming, she frowned slightly and shrugged her shoulders. She headed towards the door after the Doctor.

"There's something not right with you." She muttered under her breath so he couldn't hear as she stepped out of the time-machine. Before she could say anything, her breath hitched in her throat.

The planet they were on was beautiful. Two suns hung in the air, one closer than the other. The setting was filled with colors of all different types, with a forest of trees not far away. Donna could see no sign of civilization.

"So what do you think?" The Doctor asked her. She glided forward another few steps, taking in a lung full of the fresh alien air.

"It's lovely, Doctor, what are we-" As she was talking to him, she turned to find him clutching his stomach, a pained expression on his face. Dark circles seemed to have formed under his eyes, and Donna felt her heart flutter with panic.

"I'm fine." The Doctor replied, He wasn't wanting her to worry, but his legs were threatening to give up on him too. He really hated being this fragile and weak. There was no giving up easily for him as well. He coughed again and looked around. Stupid illness. He didn't like how it was weakening him so fast today. He had been ill for days and knew pushing it had been risky.

He was still trying to focus on other things, He hoped it wasn't some difficult illness that he wasn't going to be easily able to find medicine for in the TARDIS. He coughed again and covered his mouth so not to cough on her, He really did sound terrible. He was sure that he was going to struggle more and more. He knew this planet though beautiful was likely to be dangerous. The TARDIS had picked up something going on here as well, that was why he had come. He was panting a bit like the effort to walk was taking too much out of him. He just looked ill.

"Yes... will be dangerous though," he warned her. The Doctor wasn't focused on his own safety. He was the one who was ill, He wasn't sure how he could protect Donna, but he would always try. Though he soon fell to his knees and began throwing up, He was unable to stop that and there was trouble near by and it was getting closer. He coughed weakly.

Donna rushed forward when she saw the Doctor collapse to his knees, violently emptying the content of his stomach onto the grass bellow.

"Oh God, Doctor!" She exclaimed, bending down beside him, rubbing his back as he retched once more. "I knew there was something wrong, why the hell did you lie to me?!"

She continued to rub circles on his back, not expecting him to reply just yet. Then, to make matters worse, Donna was sure she could hear screaming.

"One minute Spaceman, you hang in there, alright?" She said to the Doctor, before she quickly got to her feet so she could peer over to the distant hill where she was sure she could hear the noises coming from. After a few moments, the Doctor stopped being sick. But now, she could see exactly what the noises where.

Quickly approaching over the hill, was what looked like four giant lizard like creatures, with what looked like a dog running towards them.

The Doctor coughed, throwing up was the worst feeling, once he was sure it was over, he was quiet for awhile as he was afraid he would just be sick again. He looked very pale and trembled more.

"Didn't want .... you to worry," The Doctor gasped "Not normally used to admitting when I'm sick either, and The universe needs me," He coughed a bit more and closed his eyes feeling dizzy, He knew there wasn't time to worry about all that when there was trouble, He tried to listen to see what it was. He coughed more and shakily got to his feet, he knew he would be likely injured if he stayed where he was. However, He needed to help and also find a way to keep Donna safe.

He noticed Donna had gone to see what the trouble was. His head was spinning. He looked around to notice the dog like creature and the lizard creatures. "Sod it!" He mumbled. He coughed again and shakily got ready to face what was coming for them. He knew that it was a tough situation and his head was hurting as he tried to think of a plan.

He really was feeling to sick to focus. He wasn't sure what was going to happen.

Donna rushed back over to the Doctor when she saw the aliens coming towards them. She helped him to stand up, as he was extremely weak and could hardly keep his balance.

"Should we just go back into the TARDIS? They look angry, Doctor!" Donna exclaimed, begging to feel a rush of fear.

The Doctor was shaking, he was determined to face them, even without much of a plan. He knew he wasn't so well and nowhere near as able to do things as he normally would. But he still wasn't going to stop, even if it go him hurt or captured.

"No......, I cam here to find out what was going on, I still want to do that," He coughed badly and was shaking. He really knew that he was too ill to do this. But it didn't stop him from wanting to try,
He knew that Donna was worried about him, He was sure he had been in worse situations before. He knew he had even been stuck in where he was poisoned and still had to carry on.

"Donna, Just be careful," The Doctor was afraid he couldn't keep her safe as well.

Donna could feel the Doctor's thin body trembling beneath her light grasp and she was becoming more and more worried.

"We're supposed to be best mates Spaceman, you don't have to keep anything secret from me, y'know?" She told him as she held him close to her. He was glaring at the approaching figures with a dark motive in his old eyes. "But if you want to stay, then I'm with you."

Donna stood by the Doctor's side. She wasn't going anywhere.

The Doctor held onto her as well, his body was still shaking, he knew he was going to be told to go to bed once they go back to the TARDIS, He did need to lay down, but he didn't want to and not yet at least. He coughed again and his heart rate seemed a bit increased, He was still panting and breathing heavily. How ever he planned to deal with the situation they were in, he had no clue.

"Alright...... well, I still haven't mentioned the full truth.... I have been ill for a few days, I was feeling sick since we went to that play 2 nights ago, I didn't want to say and I haven't been wanting to eat and I slept alot because I felt so sick, I was really hoping it wouldn't get bad." He had a hand to his stomach soon. His head was hurting so badly it was causing tears to come to his eyes. "Ohhh and I still promised Jack we would be there tonight to help him with something." He was coughing. He didn't want to say not to Jack this time either.

He looked at the approaching creatures and he had his sonic in hand "I want to stay and we have to find out what is going on." He held onto her. He was so sick, and he wasn't thinking straight, He wasn't sure if he had made that decision because he was ill and unable to think.

Donna didn't want to let go of her Spaceman, clutching him tighter and stroking his hair. When he told her that he had basically been lying to her for the past few days, she felt slightly heartbroken. Usually, it would have resulted in a slap across his thin face, but right now, she was too worried to care.

"Never mind about Jack, we have a time-machine, we can visit him whenever we want." She reminded him, watching him pull out his sonic screwdriver, sweat glistening on his forehead. The creatures were mere yards away.

"Intruders!" One of them shouted.

"Seize the Time Lord and seize the human, we're taking them to the jail!" Another shouted.

"Let's beat some sense into the Time Lord first, he never should have come here!"

The Doctor was closing his eyes when she stroked his hair, he resisted the urge to fall asleep, he didn't have the engergy. He was coughing again and he moaned weakly, he knew he didn't even have a plan.
"And my head hurts so bad , I don't even have a plan." he was gasping a little as his coughing fit ended, He knew that he was doomed if he couldn't think of something. He was bound to get hurt.

"I know... still feels like being late in ways, hate doing that to a friend." The Doctor whispered. He was finding it too hard to speak. He was tired. His body had tensed when he noticed the creatures had approached.

He wondered if he could use his words to even get out of this. It saved him sometimes. He coughed. "NEver should have come here? How was I supposed to know, " He started. He had a small smile on his face. "I was thrown off course and ended up here by accident." That of course was a lie. He knew the creatures were angry and he doubted he would get to reason.

Donna could see the Doctor closing his eyes under her touch, but she couldn't resist, all she wanted to do was comfort her Spaceman. When he told her that his head was hurting, she placed the palm of her hand on his forehead, only to feel intense heat.

"But, you always have a plan..."Donna said to him, getting more worried by the second. "Why do you get yourself into these situations, you dumbo!" She wasn't really angry with him, she was simply too scared to be calm.

The creatures eventually stopped a couple of feet away from them and Donna got a good look at them. They were tall, green lizard men that stood on two hind legs with tails sprouting from their backs. They were wearing a golden armor, as was the dog creature that stood beside the third lizard man along, growling mainly at the Time Lord.

"I don't care how you came here, pathetic 'Lord of Time...'" The first lizard spat. "You're kind we're never welcome here and still aren't. We picked up you're signal and came straight here.."

"...straight here to knock some sense into you..." Another Lizard continued, it's tounge sticking out between it's teeth and showing it's rows of sharp teeth. Donna gulped at the sight of them. The Doctor coughed again, and swayed slightly in Donnas grip. "Aww, look fella's, the poor old Time Lord is sick!"

"What should we do to him and the human?" The first lizard spoke up again.

"Let's teach him a small lesson before we bag them up and take them to the prisons. Leave the human to me..."

The Doctor was coughing more, he knew he couldn't defend himself that well, He was very dizzy. He also didn't like having to resort to violence either. He was looking at Donna, he had nasty fever and wasn't able to focus.

"Ohhh my head," he whimpered a bit as he held his head, He was already aching from his sickness and getting beaten up wasn't going to feel good. He knew he would need a plan to get them out of here, but he just couldn't think. He has tears falling down his face from how miserable he felt. Maybe he should have ran earlier. He had thought that he was able to find out what was going on here.

As the creatures started to attack him, the Doctor was knocked off his feet, he seemed unable to defend himself, They ended up breaking his ribs causing him to scream in pain. He recoiled curling up trying to protect himself from further harm and was slashed down his back. He winced trying to fight back the pain he was in. They weren't seeming to care about how ill he was. He coughed and passed out when the injures got too much for him. He was carried off with Donna. He was pale and looked even worse from his injures.

Donna stood by the Doctor's side, not letting him go as he coughed even more.

"I'm not letting you touch him, you big ugly Lizards!" Donna shouted at them, her inner anger coming up front. However, on of the big Lizard men stepped forward, ignoring Donna's comment.

"Get them." Instantly, she felt the Doctor cower and she screamed as the other three Lizards ran forward. Donna felt herself being pulled away from the Time Lord with extreme force, and she kicked an screamed, trying to get them to stop.

"Get off me!" She yelled, but the big Lizard who held her covered her mouth with it's scaly hand. She watched as her best friend stood helpless. Then, one of the two lizards in front of him pushed him harshly to the ground and then punched him, directly in his ribs. Donna tried to yell to him as he screamed in pain, but she could do nothing but watch helplessly. Then, one of them retracted their huge, knife like claws and slashed the Doctor up his back. Blood began to pour from the wound and the Doctor's scream ended up dying out, as he slumped to the ground, unconscious.

"MFFF...NOOOO!" Donna tried to scream, as one of the lizards picked up the limp Time Lord and slung him over his shoulder.

"Knock her out. Where taking them to the old prison."

The last thing Donna saw, was a green fist heading towards her face.

The Doctor stayed unconscious longer than Donna, his sickness and injures taking a toll on his body. He looked extremely pale and his fever was higher. He coughed weakly as he started to wake and recoiled in pain, his ribs were hurting him and the wound down his back was painful. He realized he had been unconscious for awhile. He was shivering and in need of medical care, he felt dizzy from blood loss.

He barely wanted to move, but he needed to get them out of here. He was in pain and very sick. He knew maybe he should have escaped with Donna when she had said. He was shivering a bit and tried to keep himself warm. He was sure once the lizards were asleep he could unlock the door with his sonic which he made sure he still had, But he wasn't sure how fast they could get away in his condition. His head was pounding even more after being knocked out, He lay there knowing he should try save his energy till they could escape. His stomach was still not feeling good either, and the bad smells in the prison weren't helping. He lay a hand over his stomach.

Getting out was all that was on his mind, He did want his soft bed now. He whimpered a bit and clutched his ribs, "D...Donna." He was shaking and he looked at her hoping she was ok, He never wanted her hurt, His companions safety was always above his own. He coughed and grunted from pain, even coughing was hurting his ribs. He was shaking a bit again and tried to relax a bit.

Donna had awoken with a pounding headache, the rotting smell of damp hitting her nose instantly. When she had managed to open her eyes, she was greeted with the sights of old grey walls. Two square holes in the wall, obviously meant to be the windows, were barred with black steel rods, letting in the only bursts of sunlight. Donna squinted slightly as she sat up, her head still hurting. Then, she spotted a crumpled figure on the other side of the cell.

"Doctor..." She barley managed to mutter as she quickly scrambled over to him, ignoring her headache. When she reached him, she saw a small pool of blood from the back wound soaking through his suit. His face was pale and he looked terrible. To make matters worse, Donna suddenly remembered hearing the crack coming from his rib-cage when the lizard had attacked him. "Oh God...Spaceman, what have they done to you?" She leaned forward, noting that he was still unconscious, and pushed some stray hair away from his clammy forehead.

Suddenly, she heard what sounded like chuckling from behind her and she turned to see one of the lizard men standing behind the black steel bars that was the door. He had a smug look on his face, swirling the keys on one of his claws.

"What the HELL do you think gives you the right to do this!" Donna exclaimed to the lizard, her anger overcoming her again. "Just you wait until I get out of here!"

"Oh that won't be for a long time, human." The lizard replied, still smirking. "You were unlucky to choose a Time Lord as a friend, especially landing on this planet. The Time Lords were firm enemies of our race, and to find one again was off the cards, Until the Doctor showed up. He'll rot in here, the stupid old git."

"Oh, just you wait till-"

"Silence, human!" The lizard interrupted. "You will rot with him in here. It's better to die quickly in this place. So, you'd best get started." With a final chuckle, the lizard man walked away from the cell. Donna didn't have time to retaliate, as she suddenly heard a groan emit from behind her. She turned to see the Doctor looking directly at her, his weak eyes staring into hers.

"Oh my God, Doctor!" Donna said, reaching forward and placing a soft hand behind his head. She could feel him shaking beneath him. "They've put us in some sort of prison, Doctor. One of the lizard men has the keys to our cell. He just told me that he's going to leave us here."

The Doctor opened his eyes again and looked at her. He was sure he wasn't going to make it if he didn't get out of here, He was sure he wouldn't survive as long as Donna, not with how sick he was, He guessed the lizard me knew that though. He coughed and tried his hardest to focus. He wasn't bothered the guard had the key when he had his sonic, It was the only key he ever needed. The hardest part would be getting back to the TARDIS in his condition. How he wished Jack would show up with his vortex manipulator. He was sure Jack would have been able to get them out of here fast enough.

"Prison... Yeah figures, and smells so foul in here, Its making me want to throw up again," He grunted a bit. He was shivering and he looked out of the cell. He was sure he didn't need the key. He was slowly forming a plan. He knew it would only work depending on how well they could get away. He coughed a bit and looked around. He tried to sit up but pain shocked his ribs and he was down again. He had no idea how he was going to get them out of here, He had began to cry a bit, He knew that they would die if he didn't think of a plan.

"We need to get out of here," The Doctor whispered "I don't need the key." He grinned a bit, "They never noticed this." he showed her his sonic. He was quiet to make sure the lizards didn't know what was going on. He was also just too weak to speak much louder. "We wait till they are asleep;" He hoped determination would be enough to get them out of there, He was breathing heavily and painfully, He was clutched his stomach again hoping he wouldn't be sick on the floor knowing there would be a worse smell. He wasn't sure if he should beg for a bucket, They didn't care so he knew he would get nowhere,

When night-time came the Doctor had woken from some sleep as he needed the energy to escape. He pointed the sonic at the lock to unlock it, and slowly staggered to his feet, He was hurting but he head to get them out of here, He heard a voice, He froze till he recognized who it was. His back was bleeding and he needed a way out. "Jack... how did you?" he gasped.

JAck looked at him "Never mind, Lets just get you out of here, and don't worry I made sure they stay knocked out for now." He was grinning a bit. "But grab onto me and I'll teleport us to the TARDIS."

"Don't worry, sweetheart, I'm sure we'll get out, somehow." Donna told the Doctor, wiping away the stray tear that had escaped down his cheek, being careful not to touch his back or any part of his ribs. When he showed her the sonic screwdriver, she let out a sigh of relief. "Well, that's a relief."

After the pair discussed their escape plan, the Doctor concluded it would be best to wait until the guards were most likely asleep until they made any attempt to escape. Donna had given the Doctor her cardigan to rap around his back, hopefully calming the bleeding down slightly. Even though it was her favorite cardigan, she would rather help the Doctor than care about her fashion. After some more talking, the two had agreed to get some sleep. Donna had laid herself down next to the Doctor, not so she was touching him, but just close enough so she could hear him if he took a turn for the worst. Slowly, she managed to fall asleep.

~

Donna awoke with a start after hearing some grunts and groans coming from the Time Lord. She slowly came to, and saw the Doctor pointing the screwdriver at the door.

"You could have woken me, Doctor. You're not steady on your feet at all." Donna said, getting to her feet. She began to get worried. Yes, her and the Doctor had made some great escapes in their time together, but never had the Doctor been in this condition. But before she could input anything, the door to their cell swung open and her and the Doctor slowly made their way out, checking for any guards.

"Jack...how did you?" Donna suddenly heard the Doctor say. Donna got quiet the shock when she turned to see the handsome Time-Agent that was Jack Harkness standing a mere few meters away from them.

"Jack?" Donna said with a mixture of surprise and delight, watching as he gave them one of his most capturing grins.

"Never mind, Lets just get you out of here, and don't worry I made sure they stay knocked out for now." Jack said, holding out his arm.
