@Buddha Pretty much, though he obviously has a more positive opinion of Khargats and his advice is based more on establishing the king's authority than hating on Khargats xP for whatever its worth.
And also, Laxion wouldn't give him this advice in public, only in private. Hmm, so now that I think about it, the PM system may have been useful for that...instead of blurting it out in the OOC like a muppet ^^'

@Kho I can't really act on it ICly anyway. I know the lines between OOC and IC perfectly well. Rest easy knowing that, unless Laxion speaks out some form of support or compromise between accepting the Khargats, and punishing them, Bastien will still see him as a soft-hearted heretic.

@Buddha Laxion hasn't actually expressed either approval or disapproval towards the Khargats. When it comes to it, his advice would be along the lines of:

1) Chugu Bey's host must return to the Khan with utmost speed. They should neither remain within Riadan nor camp outside.
2) Chugo Bey must make a formal apology to the king and his advisers for his manner of arrival, and the lack of warning that he would be arriving.
3) The Khan himself should be reprimanded for sending an adviser without seeking the permission of the king, and a formal apology gained from him. Perhaps have him come personally (with no more than ten guards) to deliver his apology.
4) This must all be done so as to establish the authority of the new king and his lack of patience with those who do not take him seriously, and a far more severe stance must be taken if these are refused (i.e. execution of Chugo Bey and all out war with the Khan. Over-reactions are the best way to put the fear of God into other upstart vassals.)

1 is most likely happening regardless, and 2 is reasonable. Chugo would hate every second of it, but he's willing to kiss ass. A strongly worded letter might obtain 3, but you have to realize that there's no way that 4 could ever happen. It would be like asking Osama bin Laden to come to the White House and negotiate. Even if it's somehow not a trap and the government would treat him fairly, waiting for him would be the biggest lynch mob that you could imagine. Not to mention that asking the lazy, overweight Khan to travel 1000+ miles is a big proposition in and of itself >.>

Did you see the picture of him? We aren't doing description of lieges since for the most part they just seem to be names that get occasionally thrown out there, but yeah. He's a cruel and petty man, and nothing like Khal Drogo. The (forever may he ride!) that Khargats sometimes say after mentioning the Khan is simply an archaic formality; this Khan doesn't ride at the head of warbands of anything.

The running theme is that while the Khargats might be vicious barbarians and conquerors, many of their leaders like Chugo and the Khan are...not what you'd expect.

It just occurred to me that seeing as Chugo came cmpletely unexpected and unannounced (as everyone is so keen to point out ) Grenn wouldn't have had the chance to do some research on who he was beforehand.

It still could make sense for Grenn to know who Chugo is and that he's the Khan's cousin, since Chugo is somewhat famous and also happened to be part of a Khargat mercenary company for a while. I'll assume that the mercenary connection is how Grenn knows him, and that Chugo similarly has heard of Grenn.
