The world was in chaos. There had been a major battle between Heaven and Hell. It was hard for humans to know for sure which side one. Rumors flew widely. No one knew for sure what the truth was. Some said that the demons had one and the Angels had been destroyed. Others said that Lucifer he been destroyed and the demons had gone into hiding. Neither side seemed interested in explaining anything to the human that had survived the battle. They were left to try to rebuild some sort of life.

Will sat in a lecture hall tapping his leg impatiently at the University of Chicago while his professor talked about his latest findings at a dig site in Egypt. It concerned a location important to 18th dynasty of Ancient Egypt, a rather interesting, yet brief period where Egyptians went from a polytheistic religion to a monotheistic one due to the actions of one pharaoh. There was a huge shift in culture easily seen in the art with more elongated, alien bodies that did not seem to be truly human. The god they worshiped, Aten, had been around for a while but only gained popularity for that period of rule, before things reverted right back to a more traditional polytheistic culture. Aten was first described in The Story of Sinhue where a man rose up to the sun, Aten, and merged with it. Will shifted uncomfortably in his seat. This topic would normally fascinate him, however given his own present circumstances it hit much too close to home.

He could feel it swirling around inside him, burning through his veins like lava, calling for its release around the world around him. A bead of sweat rolled down the tip of his nose and dropped with a barely audible plop onto the paper notebook in front of him. He rose suddenly grabbing his things and headed out of the room, ignoring the feel of the professor's eyes on the back of his neck as best as he could. 'I will have to explain that to her later. And think of some sort of explanation that she will accept... again. Damnit!' He ran over to the nearest restroom, stuck his head under the sink and turned the cold water on as high as he could. He yelped as the initial shock of cold hit his head and sizzled atop his skin. He rested there awkwardly letting water the cool him off. 'This can't go on. I have missed so many classes, my GPA is the gutter, and I KEEP LIGHTING THINGS ON FIRE! I wish I had never seen that damn rock. But the worst part by far... I almost want it all to bur-' He cut off the thought quickly and pulled his head out from underneath the sink, shaking his hair slightly to get out some of the droplets. 'I have to get out of here.'

He moved into his father's old car and instantly felt better. While his father had passed away, when he had first entered college after a long bout with cancer, this car was a core piece of his father's identity. Perhaps it was the memories that they had shared inside of it or the way that nothing ever seemed to get out the scent of his father's constantly over-applied cologne, but it never failed to make him feel better about what was going on in his life. Still, he knew it was a temporary reprieve at best and that the flames would escape him some way or another. He started the vehicle, and moved out of his space heading towards a relatively secluded spot by Lake Michigan. He cranked up the AC to its coldest setting and blew it as hard as his car could. He pulled off to the side of the road and hurried down to the shoreline. He nervously looked around and pulled off his clothes folding on the ground. He quickly entered to cold water and waded out past the point where his feet could no longer touch the ground. He dived down into the water and finally let go his barely held control of the raging hell-fire inside of him. Heat blossomed out around him boiling it around him, the heat sustained itself for two minutes before it stopped. He burst his head above the water and gulped down as much air to his empty lungs as he possibly could.

He swam back towards the shore, still panting, and put his clothes back on still sopping wet. If he had left them on, they would have been destroyed almost instantly. He sat down on the shore line and put his head in his hands. This was only a temporary measure, the need to release the flames came more and more frequently. It was a only a matter of time before someone got hurt around him, and he was not sure that he could handle it.

Free-roaming the world set out before him, Taka embraced his smoke abilities, traveling through a nearby vent and now smoke-dashing from rooftop to rooftop. "Man, the views you can get from the tops of buildings are pretty sweet! Too bad there aren't very many people to share it with...people like me.." He remarks as he sits himself down atop a billboard. Ever since he had touched that gem and gained his powers, his life wasn't the same. He kept in touch with his friends from his old life, but never visited them in person, feeling that if they saw him as he was now, being no longer human, they'd be terrified of him. His main goal for the longest time had been to find someone like him. They might not have the same abilities as him, but they'd at least understand the situation he was in. Hell, maybe they'd bond over this misfortune and become good friends. Taka certainly hoped that'd be the case, at least.

For now, as Taka took all these thoughts into consideration, he enjoyed his current view of Chicago, the city being bathed in the moonlight. He took a moment to stare directly at it in all of its glory, stretching out his right hand towards the moon. In hopes of channeling the soothing light of the moon into his heart, he closed his hand towards it, and placed his outstretched hand unto his heart.

Dusk would be waving bye to people as they left the church smiling, even with everything going on people still need hope so the church even with the disaster has tried to keep everyone's spirits up, when people was out of sight his smile would fade and he would look off to the side "come out" he states as a man comes out from hiding, a messenger from the Vatican, he would pull out a parchment and hand it to Dusk "Your new orders" the man states. Dusk would take it and the man would walk away, looking around he would unroll the parchment and read. It stating the mysterious activities happening in the area that they have learned of that couldn't be explained by regular means.

Dusk would roll it back up and put it into his robes, The Vatican has been waiting for a response from on high, as to what could of happen during the war. But they couldn't just sit around so they have taken things into their own hands to dealing with anything that can't be explained in order to protect human kind. Dusk took a deep breath "this is going to be a long day.." he states and begins walking heading to the first location on the list. A University, equipment has mysterious ended up damaged, even some fidgety students acting strange. incase of demon or worse activity he now has to investigate and discover the source.

Dukalian or as his friends would call him Duke was just stepping out of one of the back alleys of the city. "Man I'm bored. These guys weren't even worth the challenge." Behind Duke were a handful of thugs spread all over the floor. Some were moaning in pain and some were unconscious with bruises and blood all over their bodies. " I wonder if this thing is one of a kind?" He said as he held up a small black crystal with a reddish shine in it. The crystal was hanging on a necklace around his neck. "Let's hope I can make some quick cash in this city." Duke finished as he walked out in the street.

Kyle sat at an outside table at a Mexican restaurant on a beach on Lake Michigan. A few people were on the beach, but it was a weekday, so it wasn't very busy. The waiter walked over to take his order. "Margarita and Guacamole." he replied.

The waiter looked him over. "ID?" he asked.

Red sparks circled his irises and the edge of a twenty dollar bill as he slid it across the table to the waiter, infusing the bill with a bit of Greed. "You don't need to see my ID." Kyle responded.

The waiter slipped the bill into his pocket. "Right, you aren't the droid I'm looking for. I'll go about my business." With that the waiter left to get his order.

Kyle had come there to try and learn something new about his powers. The first time he had infused a person with Greed they couldn't get what they wanted and it turned to Anger. After a bit of practice and study he learned to use that connection between the two sins to infect people with anger directly. Now he was looking to duplicate two more sins, Lust and Gluttony. A beach-side restaurant was good for both.

After drinking the margarita, he saw two "marks", a couple at a nearby table and an overweight woman that was sitting at another table near them and got up "to go to the bathroom." As he walked by them, acting drunk and infusing them as he did it, he bumped into the man at the first table, complimenting him on how lucky he was to find a woman like that, and then bumped into the fat woman, telling her that her food looked great. He then wondered into the bathroom and, after a few seconds, came outside to see his handywork.

The woman was shoveling tacos into her mouth, a possible success, but the man had another patron pinned to the table, punching him in the face. Hmm, he thought, still can't find the link to Lust. I'll have to try again later. With that, he sat back down at his table and ordered another drink, dipping his chips into the guacamole and munching on them as the police came in to arrest the angry man.

Sarah was sitting and holding her crystal in her hand looking at it. She sighed and she watched the light swirling around in it, almost like an opal. She tilted her head, ignoring the whispers in her mind. She refused to hurt anyone, and she was very adamant in that. She stood and tucked it away in a little crystal holder necklace and she walked out of her home, looking up to see the moon up in the sky during the day. She smiled, that moon was her only solace, her source of power. She continued walking.

Katherin knew that something was different but she couldn't say exctly what it was. She knew that she could do things that she hadn't been able to do before. The only thing that had changed was the stone she had found. She had been drawn to the rock in a way she had never been drawn to anything before. She had had to pick it up. Ever since then she had felt herself being pulled towards people and places. She wondered if there were more rocks like the one she had found and if they were trying to gather together for some reason. She knew the thought was odd. But the rock she had found hadn't been a normal rock.

Will lifted his head out of his hands and examined the area around him. Releasing the flames in the water seemed to have negated damaging any of the surrounding environment. Luckily for him, the water had prevented the flames from actually forming meaning that the expenditure had only given off boiling bubbles of water that quickly disappeared rather than any light that might have attracted someone's attention to his surroundings. He placed his hand on the damp sand beneath and pushed up on it, lifting his now dry body. One of the many side-effects of his ability was that he would never stay wet for long it seemed. The area around Lake Michigan seemed rather quiet as well, however his eyes fell on a Mexican restaurant and he felt a sudden bizarre craving for Mexican food. His feet actually took a few steps forward on their own, before he paused.

He reached into his pocket, pulled out his wallet, and peered into its contents. He replaced the wallet with a sigh. 'I doubt three dollars would get me much of anything. Besides I have leftover pasta from yesterday back home. When did I start liking Mexican food this much anyway?' Reluctantly he turned away from the tempting proposition, got in his car and started to drive back towards his dorm. As he left, several police cars zoomed past him with their sirens on heading somewhere by the beach.

As Will arrived at his front door he went through his daily struggle of attempting to open the damn thing. One of his closer encounters had left the doorknob and locking mechanism slightly warped making it a daily annoyance. He doubted his roommates on the other side of the small apartment style dorm room noticed. Finn and Teri were far more interested in one another to pay much attention to Will or their surroundings. Still, they were clean and polite enough so a decent pair of noise canceling headphones did not seem like to large a price to pay. He entered the door to his own room and flopped onto his bed. He felt exhausted, like every day since he had touched that thing. It had vanished when he had woken up, but he could feel it inside of him somehow merged with his own heart.

His resistance to its urges was taking a toll on him with an increasing cost every day. It may not have been so bad if it was possible to talk to someone about what had happened to him, but how could he put their safety at risk like that? He had to push away his friends fearing that some small annoyance could lead to one of them getting seriously injured. He moved out by the window feeling compelled to look up at the moon hanging so lovely in the sky and sighed.

Will would see a Man walking with what looked like the head master of the University, the man was in strange Priest robes and the head master seemed to be paying the man a lot of respect. They was talking but was to far away to hear, and it was strange to see a Priest coming to a university. They seemed to be heading towards the Dorms.

This was not the kind of hotel where you found tiny chocolates on your pillow. No, this was more the kind of hotel where you found a giant cockroach under your pillow. It was a moldy, bug infested, dirty and dusty mess. The door made a shrieking sound that pierced your soul as you opened and closed them. The windows were bolted down, and there was no way to open them. The place looked and smelled like something that was ripped right our from a horror movie, and it was perfect. Nobody would be looking for him here, and even tho it was creepy beyond words Albert felt safe there.

"Not my fault, it wasn't my fault," Albert repeated to himself as he buried his head in his hands and lap. His fingers started intertwining with his hair, and he pulled roughly. It hurt like hell, but at least it gave him a moment of relief from what was going on in his head. The week since the car crash had been a waking nightmare. His friend had been smashed against the rocks to the point of where he could hardly be recognized, and here Albert was, sitting in a hotel room without as much as a scratch. It wasn't fair. It wasn't how things were supposed to go. "I didn't kill him," He groaned, getting up from the bed and starting to pace around the room. His head was pounding, and his throat felt as if on fire. "I didn't kill him!" He yelled louder, punching so hard that he could hear the wall crack.

Albert was slowly falling deeper and deeper into insanity, and the voices in his head just made things worse. Ever since he woke up after the accident the voices had been telling him to get revenge, they had been telling him to find the man that had caused the accident, to find the mn that had killed his friend. "We got to find him... I must find him"

After walking around for some while Duke found himself at the beach, more precisely at a Mexican restaurant. " Guess the money of those guys comes in handy." Duke walked up to the restaurant as he felt something strange. The crystal around his neck started reacting to something close by. Duke didn't know how he knew he just felt it. Duke walked to the middle of the restaurant and started looking everyone over to see if he could pinpoint the stange energy he was feeling.

Movement down below broke his attention on the moon hanging so low in the sky this evening. It appeared that the university headmaster accompanied by a priest of all people was strolling out together towards the the dorms. That was extremely odd, not only because he had only ever seen the Headmaster during official functions and gatherings, but also because the school had always had a very strong scientific background and majority of the higher staff had made their own lack of faith readily apparent. When the rumors of some type of angelic war had come around, the staff had not even bothered to acknowledge them, they found it so ridiculous. But there they were a priest and the headmaster coming towards his dorm area.

Will kept his eyes of the priest watching his steady approach. There was something about the man that set his hair on edge, some sort of tremble in his chest that spoke of danger. He put his hand on his own chest and felt a vibration where stone fused heart resides in his chest. It was almost like the stone was repulsed away from it almost like a magnet. His mind filled with the need to escape, to hide, to run away from the bispectacled priest. Somehow, in a way that Will could not understand the man was dangerous. He could feel the flames running in his veins now already building in response to the increased adrenaline in his system. He grabbed his backpack and stuffed in a few of his essential supplies including the small amount of objects he had accidentally warped, with the exception of the front doorknob and lock. He rushed out into the night quietly making his way away from the approaching pair and out the exit through the courtyard on the other side.

He crouched slightly so he wouldn't be seen down on the ground floor and quickly entered in staircase down, taking the steps two at a time. He exited and entered into the courtyard. He began moving in a hurry straightforward, but as he did so felt a massive pull or maybe push towards his left hand side. His legs reacted on instinct turning him quickly and causing him to run into someone who had been walking and humming in the courtyard. He fell backwards and landed on his rear end with a slight "Oof!" of impact.

Will rose quickly and lifted his extremely warm hand out towards the girl in a attempt to help lift her off if she choose to accept it. "I am so sorry about that! I don't know what happened..." A cloud drifted lazily through the night sky and a ray of moonlight hit the girls head. Will felt a thrum from the stone residing in his chest that carried through all of his body. It was a sense of ...familiarity? Maybe longing? Whatever the feeling it had not come from Will.

He looked at the girl again and gently spoke, "You are moonlight." He said this was no sense of question in his tone, but as a statement of irrevocable fact. He shook his head, perturbed by these new sensations and moved into a more brusque tone. "Come with me. Someone dangerous is coming."

Sarah fell onto her rear end and she landed with a soft "oof" as well. She took the hand the man offered her and stood, brushing herself off. She heard what he said and she frowned. "I don't know what you're talking about." She though felt it as well and looked to where the priest was and she nodded. "Then let us go." She said softly.

Dusk would nod smiling as the headmaster started ranting about his own beliefs and everything, dusk would stop when he felt the strange sensation, when they came closer he felt the feeling double. He turned towards Sarah and Will and immediately started running using the feeling to tell which direction they are by how strong it is, he knew now this must of been why he was called here there couldn't be an other explanation as to why there was mysterious activities in this town. a light would seem to radiate off his body as he rushed towards them.

Sarah turned hearing footsteps and she froze, her eyes wide. She looked up at the moon, holding out her hand. A knife formed, the handle in her hand as she hid it from view, ready to use it if needed.

As he was enjoying the scenery, Taka could sense some form of disturbance in the distance, by what appeared to be a hotel. The gem shard he had gained his abilities from, now having a home within his earring, began pulsing, as if wishing for him to head towards the hotel. "Well, you've yet to steer me in the wrong direction...let's see what you've got for me this time." Taka remarks as he leaps from his perch on the billboard unto another roof top, taking the high route towards the designated building.

Upon reaching his destination, the hotel itself was a sorry sight. The walls were covered in ivy, the windows either baring cracks or being completely shattered, leaving only an easy entrance for people or creatures of all sorts. "Well now, this is quite the home the target has chosen...I hope they don't mind if I make myself at home." With that being said, Taka enters the building via one of the open slots that a window used to call home. Figuring what he was looking for wouldn't make itself easy to find, he decides to start the building search with the second floor. "Hello? Anybody home? Or thing? I just want to talk!" He calls out, hoping things might go smoothly if he makes his presence known.

The sudden sound of another man's voice snapped Albert mind away from the thoughts of revenge. "Dammit," He growled loudly, backing away from the windows in the hopes that whoever this man wouldn't be able to find him. A foolish move as he knew that if the man would instantly notice him if he threw a glance through the window to his room. Sure, the window was dirty and grimy, but that wouldn't be much of a hindrance if the man just got close enough. It was now less of a question of if, and more a question of when he would be found.

"Don't be from the hospital, please don't be from the hospital," Albert started chanting got up from the ground and slowly started to make his way to the window, he kept his eyes on it at all times, expecting the guy to pass by any moment now. He could feel a strange itch in the middle of his upper back, and it got worse and worse as time went by, and he assumed that it had something to do with the guy getting closer to his room. The last time he had had felt this itch Albert had ended up sprouting a pair of big white angelic wings, but this time, the feeling was much stronger and more focused on just one point, almost like something inside him was reacting to the man's presence. He clenched and unclenched his hand in rapid succession as if it would help relieve some of the stress he was feeling, but the only thing he ended up with was a slight pain from where his nails had dug into his palms. "Come on...come on," He whispered as he leaned against the window and looked out in search for this mysterious man.

@ZiongaKyle saw a man looking around the restaurant. Something was off about him, though. It was as if he was already infused with a sin. No, that wasn't it. He was infused with something but it didn't have the same dark taint as a sin.

Kyle got up to and walked towards the man, bumping into the fat woman and absorbing most of the Gluttony from her. Might as well try it out, he thought as he neared the man. "Hi." he said. "I think I'm the one you're looking for. Care to join me for a drink?" He held out his hand for the man to shake it. Hopefully the man would return the gesture, giving Kyle the opportunity to try out the his new Sin by infusing some into the man. "Come, I'll buy you a burrito."
