Vowels aren't the problem, usually, it's the consonants that are most commonly used in names, since the comparison of stressed consonants and stressed vowels leans heavily in the consonants direction. I say this because, the mashups use the letters that are most stressed in a word, rather than conveniently throwing in stuff to make it easier. I think that's what's so hard: getting everything to sound and look correctly. Lower the amount of letters makes it a lot easier, since it opens up more words that could possibly be used, maybeh. We could always mix it up.

Chances are, some teams might not necessarily want to do that and might prefer their original team name over the other. I don't mind either way, but why not give the option should one be unable to find a set team name for one or the other that they all fancy? And dun forget we could possibly use last names for either of the naming conventions.
