Theodoros Yamamoto
Nicknames/Alias: Theo, other assorted nicknames both good and bad. He only complains if he doesn’t like it or if it is bad/negative.
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Apparent Age: Probably looks about right for his age.
Appearance: Although American by birth, Theodoros is of Japanese, on his father’s side, and Greek, on his mother’s side, descent. The combination his what has brought his appearance into the world. Straight, usually messy, blonde hair with dark, typically brown, eyes that grow redder as his power manifests. He isn’t the most intimidating, appearing at a mere 5’7” with clothes that typically hide his physique, but what he lacks in appearance he makes up for in power. He is quite fit with a muscular, yet lean build under his clothes.
Personality: Theodoros is a rather kind hearted individual, though he isn’t as naive as one may believe. When he becomes focused on something, or determined to do something, he can be quite fierce. This is especially true for battle. Although he seems to try to avoid most serious confrontations where necessary, in some cases using his power and intimidation to force the enemy to back down, utilizing deception and the like in other cases, he relishes small skirmishes. He seems to be quite the contradictory fellow he is, possibly due to his fear of the power he gained upon becoming a campione. Still he is a good friend, and despite everything else, in the words of Ares, he has the “spirit of a warrior.”
History: Well it’s something. Longer than I expected. But yeah.
Until the age of about 3 Theodoros Yamamoto was raised in America. To this day he doesn’t remember the reasoning of his parents very well, but around that time they had decided to move. Before he was born apparently they’d been traveling for quite some time. It was part of the story of how they met as far as they had told him. They traveled Europe Asia, living all over. A few months here, maybe a year there. It wasn’t until he was 12 that they finally settled down. It was a small town in Greece. It was pretty isolated. Quiet and held together through a tightnit sense of community. His mother had grown up here, though her parents had since passed away.
The family live for a few years. Theo made friends and got to know neighbors and other families along with his. Things were great until that fateful day. He’d only turned 17 a few weeks before the incident happened. It all started with an Earthquake. He had been out in the park near his home when it began. The adults went wild, panicking and picking up their children from the playground. He and a few friends had been just outside the playground sitting in the grass and talking. He knew they should have run. He knew he should have gotten them to go back to their families, or something at the least, but he was scared for his life. The ground was shaking and he could see why, but it didn’t look like anybody else could.
There was a man, a huge man, shrouded in fire, walking among them, coming out of the mountains. Theo didn’t know it for sure then, but this man, he would come to learn, was the GOd of War. Ares in all his glory strode about the humans, a newly made Heretic God, laughing as he made his way to explore the world. To make matters worse, nobody else seemed to be able to see him as far as he knew and as the panic ensued things grew more and more hectic. People who loved and cared for each other every day began to argue and fight in this time of need, threatening and trying to run each other down to help themselves. Even when things calmed down, the tension was high. This man who seemed to be enjoying the view of the world laid out before him simply laughed under the impression nobody knew he was there. Come to think of it, why did Theodoros know he was there.
He shook his head. That didn’t matter it. Even his two closest friends were starting to fight and he was about to join in out of sheer annoyance. That was probably why he ran. It took all of the rest of the day. Everyone had tired themselves out and if they weren’t sleeping or watching their children, they were cleaning up. Tempers were flaring and nobody, including his parents, as far as he knew as he hadn’t seen them since that morning, knew why. But he knew it had to be something to do with that man. The one whose mere snoring seemed to bring about thunder in the eyes and ears of the village.
Theo called out to the may, his voice barely carrying. He tried everything aside from physically touching the man, before it came to such a drastic measure. Ares reacted with surprise but amusement. Never had he met a human who would approach him so boldly. He began to shrink to a more normal size, though he still towered over Theo. They talked. Theo explained and Ares laughed, which served to anger Theo who would then challenge the god. Ares was annoyed at his disrespect, but more so overjoyed and far too entertained to simply behead the young man. Perhaps it was arrogance but the god granted the boy a one request.
Theo thought about what he would ask Ares to do when all was said and done. He could ask him to leave, but would that stop him from coming back? Even if it did, wouldn’t that just mean that Ares would end up going to bring about the same problems for somebody else. It took time. Ares grew impatient but before he could say anything Theodoros decided what he would want. He requested Ares have a fight with him on his level. Ares laughed harder than he had ever laughed before, but decided he would agree, but on one condition. Theo would fight on his level, and they would fight as the god’s fought. To the death. In a sense it was a test. Ares expected the young man to back down, but when he thought about his family, his friends and the entire little down that remained clueless to the danger among them, he couldn’t help but shake his head. He would do this. Not just for them, but for himself. So he could continue to enjoy this happy life for as long as he could.
Ares couldn’t help it. Perhaps it was his own arrogance or simple boredom. He found this boy to be interesting. And thus, bestowed upon him power to face off with the god. The battle raged for hours, each blow sending shockwaves through the air. Even so, as they fought to kill each other the two couldn’t help but begin to laugh. Ares was a god of war. He relished this. But Theo? He didn’t understand why he was being drawn in so deeply. Sure part of him had always enjoyed a good scrap here and there, but this? No there was something more… Maybe it was the power. Maybe it was the feeling of uniqueness at this special once in a lifetime situation. He didn’t know. Still, in the end, somehow… Theo won. Even know he doesn’t quite remember how he did it or what led to the end of the battle. Every so often he gets flashes. Anger and sadness, Ares cursing him, but not for his loss. Something else. Ever since then, he has been a Campione.
When Theo woke up he was in a hospital bed. He was completely fine somehow, but the town… In the battle it’d taken considerable damage. Luckily nobody had been seriously injured. But everyone would need to leave and find new homes, even if only for a little while. His own family relocated to Japan. His parents lived in yet another small town, but he couldn’t do that again. Not so soon. They allowed him to stay in the city. He was with a family member, at least in the same apartment complex, though a few doors down. He kept to himself mostly, no real idea of what he had become. Months have past. His 18 birthday should be approaching soon and through a series of events he has come to learn a bit more about what he is and what he can do.

How You Became a Campione: Theodoros killed the Greek God of War, Ares, in one hell of a battle. At least, he thinks he did. How did he? He has the basics. But the specifics are all fuzzy. He doesn’t even quite get it himself. For a slightly more in depth view, not exactly much more info to be honest, read his history.
Authority: In addition to the basic and usual abilities shared by all Campione, after killing Ares, Theodoros gained the following abilities:
- Conjuration: Theo is able to manifest weapons at will. He often uses it to summon swords, shields, axes, and the like. They may range in size at his whim, but it is important to note that as there is a limit to his strength, like anybody else’s, size and shape do matter if he is to wield them. Furthermore, he is limited to weapons of the past. INHe may not conjure weapons such as modern day fire arms, warheads, etc.
- Dimensiokinesis: Ares was able to create pocket universes that he could control completely. He typically used this in order to trap his enemies and toy with them to his heart’s desire. Theo, however, is far more limited in this area of ability. While it is possible for him to create a small pocket dimension, trapping an enemy, or any other human being or creature for that matter, is beyond him. However, he is capable of creating a small pocket dimension in order to hold his things. He typically does this before battle or when traveling so as to avoid the loss and/or destruction of his property.
- Power Bestowal: Like Ares, Theo is able to grant chosen ally his vast power. The downside to this skill is the person must trust and be trusted by Theodoros. Even then, both must be careful. Should the bearer, or bearers, take on too much they may go mad or even die from the excess power.
- Pyrokinesis: Theo possesses the ability to manipulate fire. However, whereas Ares could create it, Theo may only manipulate the fire available in his immediate facility. It is possible that in time he may grow stronger and acquire such abilities, as of now it is an impossibility.Still, with fire present, Theo is able to infuse it in himself, his weapons, throw fireballs, etc.
- Telepathy: Theo is able to speak to people through their mind, but only so long as they are under his command or are an ally.
- War Embodiment: Just as Ares was, Theo has become the embodiment of War. He is able to feel the anger, rage, fear, and all the other emotions associated with war to their fullest extent. In a sense this adds a level of empathy to his skillset. Furthermore, he draws power from these points of war. It is because of this, along with the other abilities of the Campione, that he shines the most in drawn out or large scale battles as he just continues to grow in power. However, with this power comes major drawbacks. Unlike Ares, he is at risk of going mad, losing control or even getting himself killed, especially if he were to give into his own rage. In the event that he loses control he may go into a berserker like rage, the likes of which Ares himself would never have to worry about.
