A mediun-fast electric burn is still instantaneous by human perception. I mean, its probably better to not get too technical about exact speeds because then I'd have to start crunching signal speeds and enchanted electron drift velocity numbers >_>.

But good, good. Next!

By human perception, yeah. Over a normal sized body. This is a several dozen foot wide and long body with branching paths and holes. It simply would not transfer fast enough to be invisible to him, there's so much mass for it to transfer through. But this point.

Is moot due to a property of the staff that neither of us accounted for, and honestly I'm ashamed that I didn't.

God damn I'm both tired and unable to sleep. I'm gonna hate myself at work today. I'm really trying to make sure this post is articulated properly so you really understand just how stupid I was for not actually using this ability prior.

You don't understand.

I am very sorry that I forgot this.

I am also very sorry for what it's going to do.

Believe me, I was not holding this out.

I made the realization a little while earlier.

I am humiliated, because I forgot the properties of my own weapon.

I'm interested to see what this little ace is if it's got you so confident.

@Divinity
It's not a little ace.

It's the single anti-magic property the staff has, shelved as a normal ability.

It's the ability I gave the staff so he could actually fight against mages.

This is the first fight against a mage he's had WITH the staff in writing.

Forgive me.

It can strike opponents who are on entirely separate planes of existence, as long as they are in the same "place". It can strike liquid and gas as well as it can solids, there is nothing immune to its strike.

nothing

Two themes inspired the hapenings of my post. They are:

1. Logic would dictate that as long as physical contact was made, the laws of (meta?)electrical transfer would still cause it to recieve the charge regardless

2. My attack was prepped, and yours self-admittedly a quickdraw. This would naturally factor into how much the weapon could reflect on such short notice.

Edit: just out of curiosity, how can a physical object 'strike' a gas? I get its magic and all, but I'm legitimately curious if there is any method to that nadness. Gases are naturally effusive and dispersive. Hitting a gas would mean hitting every single particle of it at once. Gases also tend to mold around physical objects.

I realized this fight was just going to be stuck in the same three seconds for the next five or so posts. And I wasn't willing to argue the physics of magic, I concede the fight.

Basically this.

@Rilla
Could you award Divinity a victory for me?

I genuinely lol'd at that video. Couldn't have said it better myself. Interrupt chains are real bitches @_@.

That aside, I had a genuine level of fun I haven't had in quite some time. Whenever you'd like to try it again let me know.

And now another decade of training and preparation. You've given Shin insight, and Shin never makes the same mistake twice. When the inevitable rematch occurs he'll be much more prepared.

Yeah the fight was fun, but next time we fight let's not get into a contest of magic physics. It makes everyone involved look dumb y'know.

I very much look forward to that rematch. Corban never forgets, either.
