Phantasm
So, I've tried to run this twice, on a different site, but both times the people involved just kind of... Faded out of it overtime. I'm hoping that maybe you guys will be interested enough to help me out. This story is kind of my baby.
The room was falling out from beneath their feet as they ran, the doorway before them growing ever closer. They both cleared the threshold, slamming the door shut behind them. The tremors halted at the door, and the beast roared in anger at finding it's way barred. The two knew that the barrier around the door wouldn't hold it back for long; but they were so close, so close to their goal, to their escape, that it did not matter.
All that mattered was getting out.
The door had led them into a long corridor, the last corridor. As both of the runner began to catch their breath, a light formed at the end of the hall, beckoning them in. It illuminated them both, bathing them in an ethereal glow that seemed to highlight their every wound. Of the two, the boy leaning against the wall was by far the worst off. A long, sharp spike, which glowed a sickening purple, was broken off in his calf. The wound was bleeding both heavily and steadily, and the boy's usually bronze skin was as pale as paper.
His companion was standing straight, her shoulders heaving with every gasp of air. Her long hair trailed behind her as she cautiously stepped forward, examining the bright vortex of light. Her face abruptly lit up, a smile shinning from beneath the bruises and layers of dirt. "This is it! This is the door, oh God, we made it, Kells! We found it, oh Kells-!!" She exclaimed giddily, her head whipping toward him as her voice cut out.
"Kells?" Kellen lifted his head, a shaky smile on his lips. His body was beginning to tremble from how cold he had gotten, and as he pulled his legs under him, he flinched from the pain. Blood had pooled under him, and it was now soaking the material, staining the dark material black.
"That's... That's great!" His voice was strained as he closed his eyes slowly. The girl quickly knelt next to him, ignoring the blood that slowly seeped into her own clothes.
"Kellen look at me. You can't sleep, okay? You have to get up, Kells, you have to walk with me and you have to go through that portal with me. We have to wake up." Her hands cupped his face gently, tilting it toward her as she spoke. He laughed, his gloved hand lifting automatically to cover his mouth as the sound morphed into a cough of pain.
"I wonder... You're so much stronger than I am, so why am I the knight? Look at me. I'm not going to make it, not before it breaks down the door. You have to leave me. I'm not going to make it, not before it breaks down the door. You have to leave me." The girl shook her head, tears welling in her bright eyes as she gripped him under his arms. She pulled him to his feet as she replied, her voice tense.
"Damn it, Kells, you're not dying! Quit being so melodramatic and get UP!" Her arms weaved around him, supporting him as she started toward the glowing door. Behind them, the closed door began to vibrate, subtly at first, but growing in intensity. They were only a few feet from the light - a few feet from freedom, from escaping this realm- when the the door shattered and it charged through.
It's long tongue snaked out, tasting the air as scurried, it's body close to the ground. Just as the girl looked over her shoulder at it, she saw it's tail lashing, the broken stinger leaking a purple miasma into the air. She sped up, half dragging and half supporting her partner, but the two stopped short as the girl's cloak suddenly pulled tight to her throat. Kellen drew his weight off of his friend and spun, drawing his sword from it's sheath and raising the blade at the beast, who's sharp claws had pinned his companion's cloak to the ground. The girl's fingers fumbled until she had freed the clasp at her neck, the fabric pooling behind her as she slid forward toward the vortex.
"Go." Kellen's voice rang out strong and steady despite the still dripping wound on his leg. His sword was raised, the blade glinting white from the portal. "Wake up. I'll be there soon."
"No! I'm not leaving you!!" The girl pushed to her feet, stumbling as the whirling light began to draw her in. She struggled to push forward, but the gravity field around the light was stronger than she was. Kellen smiled over his shoulder at her, his eyes sad.
"Goodbye, Ilianna. I'll see you again."
A scream was ripped from her throat, unbidden and heart wrenching, as she watched the beast dissolve into smoke and spiral toward Kellen. As Ilianna fell back into the void, unable to resist it's pull, she watched her friend hold his arms out wide in surrender.
Beyond our world, there are realms capable of anything imaginable. That is because these realms exist within our dreams, where we mold them to be whatever we want. Though we all have this ability, only ten percent of the population is actually conscious of the fact that they leave this world every time they sleep. Of these special people, fewer still have the imagination and incredible stubbornness required to actively shape and entire realm into reality.
Ilianna Grace is one of those few.
Ilianna Grace has sworn to never return to the dream realms, no matter the cost. The loss of her best friend and partner has left her a different person, struggling to live on a day to day basis. Its been five years, and although she is beginning to heal - new friends, a good job, and less guilt weighing her down- she is in no way prepared when an old friend arises with a request for help.
For five years, the Entropy Beast has been possessing the body of Kellen Chase, the Chaos Knight. The Beast has proven far more sentient than they had originally believed. Although his motives are straightforward- the destruction of all things created- he has proven to be intelligent enough to tear it all down... slowly. With a human form, he has become unstoppable. He has terrorized Ilianna's realm, overthrowing the Dracao king and taking the vast eastern territory as his own. All of those who reside within the realm are trapped, unable to awaken so long as Ilia stays away. To make matters worse, her source tells her that the Entropy Beast may have found a way to leave the realms.
To enter what we perceive as the "real world".
She must return to her realm of Eurasha and defeat the Entropy Beast. The friend has agreed to meet her at Carrion Peak, where the two would begin their quest, and although she intends to do it with her old allies, the Sirenian Queen and the Realm Dragon, things don't always go as planned.
She's accidentally brought YOU with her...
.... And there's no way to send you home.

Traits Of:
Mages: Traits that would cause your character to be a Mage are creativity, a strong will, and a sharp mind. They tend to be the most emotionally wrecked people in the realm.
Knights: Courageous, devoted, and fast to react. Knights are protective toward their respective Mages, and have a tendency to throw out their own lives in order to protect withers.
Dragons: Dauntless, clear headed, and adaptable. The Dragons have a tendency to be mischievous and are often wonderers.
Protectors/Mage Pairings:
These are the pairings for defenders and the defended, meaning, if you chose the Knight of >Insert Aspect< you must defend the Mage of >Aspect<, even if your characters hate one another with a passion. They will be your partner, your fighting companion. Chose wisely. If there can't be trust between your characters, then they SHOULD NOT be partners. If you prefer, you can wait to pick your position until AFTER the CSs are up. I do not mind this. Because, no changes will be allowed on the CSs after we begin. I know some people allow you to edit it after beginning. I AM NOT ONE OF THEM.
Knight of Earth/ Mage of Fire
Knight of Air/ Mage of Water
You can debate this with me if you'd like. If you put up a good argument as to why I should switch this, I might. You won't though. =P
