Name: Mex Lal
Appearance:
Race: Human
Age: 22
Skills: Saber combat, repair (especially droids), computers, some shooting, haggling
Force powers: speed, jump, telekinesis, mind trick, healing (learned from the holocron), battle meditation (also learned from holocron)
Personality: While he was a Jedi he would freely help others without asking for anything in return. Since leaving the order, however, he's grown to enjoy haggling with the people around him. He's conflicted over when he should continue to follow the Jedi code. While he's certain he'll be willing to take on multiple apprentices if he must, he wonders if the other rules should still be honored.
Bio: Once an orphan on Nar Shadaa, he was found by a Jedi on a mission there at the age of four and taken to the academy on Coruscant. There he grew up as any other youngling, being taught by the other members of the order. When he was old enough the same Jedi who rescued him and had been his friend since then came to ask him to be his Padawan learner. He accepted and spent the next eight years studying under the man.
A month after passing his trials for knighthood, though, he received a message that his former master had died in a battle against Trade Federation droids. Mex began meditating to try and calm his mind from the anger he felt at them, but instead began to see a dark fog flowing over the planet, then the galaxy. In the galaxy it flowed from Geonosis, but on Coruscant it flowed from the Senate building. He told the masters of this vision, but they believed it to merely be the shadow of war. It felt different, though. It wasn't just greed or hatred he felt in it, but an order that made no sense flowing from the now war-torn Geonosis.
He went to the Library to study it and felt as if he was being pulled to the holocron chamber. There he found the holocron of a Jedi who had fought in many wars and knew more about it than any of the masters. He began to teach Mex but, when the masters ordered him to stop seeking the council of the holocron out of fear that its gatekeeper, Revan, would lead him too close to the dark side, he knew he couldn't obey. Over the next week he explored the Undercity. When he was certain he had a decent base of operation, he snuck into the library in the night and stole the large pyramid-shaped device, leaving the Jedi but leaving them with a note explaining why he had stolen it and why he had left.
Equipment: Green lightsaber, robes, protocol droid (T6-C8, found near his base and reactivated), improvised blaster (built from the parts of several), workshop and chem stations (at base), blood scanner (for med scans, especially midiclorian counts), a few hundred credits and some bits of salvage
