@Slime Yeah, while I can appreciate the sentiment I'm gonna have to still say no. Servants are powerful because their legend is exactly that... the stuff of myths. They are the sum total of their stories.

That and there's a certain theme to the Fate series that I want to keep. Can I interest you in a more old style gunpowder archer?

@Slime Oh I have no idea. That's entirely up to you in the end. The lists I provided have some really decent gunpowder servants. Or you can take your own figure from history.

As you can see, each of are choosing servants to a particular play style. Roland is mostly a defensive Servant, while Sun Wukong uses his many tricks to engage the enemy, and the Pheonix just destroys everything it touches. You need to find a servant whose story will work best for what you want.

My bad, I misunderstood you. Sadly anything before the 1800 that used gunpowder were mostly muskets and flintlock pistols, which I fail to find anyone renowned for using them, save for Francis Drake. I'll think some more and come back later.

Fukushima Miyoko

Age: 17

Personality: Miyoko is an unending bundle of energy and friendliness. Her peers are often amazed by her vigor and enthusiasm during activities. She enjoys social interaction, an all around people person. Her outgoing personality when combined with her resourcefulness eventually led to her being nominated as student council president, a position that she was completely fine with. It served as a medium for her to channel her energy into.

Miyoko tends to shy away from violence and conflict but is able to become pragmatic if needed, known to swiftly end conflicts among fellow students. Miyoko could be said to be a very pure individual. Her kindness hides no ulterior motives, she simply enjoys helping others. A rare breed indeed.

Biography and Family History:
Fukushima Miyoko is a direct descendent of the Seienkyū, a once powerful family of Onmyōji, mages who specialized in the Thaumaturgical Theory of the Onmyoudou, Houjutsu. During its time, the Seienkyū family was rumored to be capable of vanquishing Monstrous class creatures, a feat that would require one to be as strong as some of the lesser heroes from the throne. Though this was never proven, it does however, suggest how powerful the Seienkyū were. Unfortunately, with the passage of time, the Seienkyū went into decline. The advent of a new age and subsequent increase in human population, led to a decrease of the beasts and creatures that terrorized them. Onmyōji were no longer needed and the Seienkyū family completely vanished by the time industrialization happened during the Sengoku era.

Miyoko is (or was) unaware of the existence of mages and supernatural beings. Though she did know of her blood ties to the Seienkyū, she had dismissed it as nothing more of a exaggerated story passed down by her predecessors. She has never performed magic in her life, neither does she have any knowledge of how to. Her induction into the was the result of her discovering forgotten antiques in her house due to her recent moving into Fuyuki City from Misaki Town.

The 'antique' being a box containing scrolls describing how to create the magical circle required to summon a Servant as well as the catalyst to summon the legendary Sun Wukong, a torn part of the cape that the Monkey King once wore. It was done merely out of curiosity, but the grail reached out to her call, activating her magic circuits and summoning the might Monkey King Servant as well.

I came up with an idea for a Master already, but no Servant yet.

Name: Alexandra (family name pending)

Gender: Female

Age: 25

Personality: Alexandra lost most of her personality over the years after inheriting her family's crest. What once was a playful and innocent lady, became a dull and cold woman, with the side effects of her crest keeping her constantly in a bad mood. Despite this, she still treats other with respect and consideration and can eventually warm up to others.

Appearance: Fair skin, blue eyes, small black spot on the right side of the chin, blonde hair reaching her lower back, D cups, 1,72 m.

Biography and Family History: Alexandra comes from a family of magi that specialized in using illusions. Their signature spells are all focused on tricking the senses of others, while leaving the world around them untouched. While it may not seem like an impressive use of magecraft, the illusions become more realistic and powerful as they grow older and is also affected by the user's natural talent. At their peek, these illusions can trick all senses of a target person or group, leaving them unable to even tell the difference between real and fake. This method of magic, however, is a double-edged sword and also affects their user, which affects their sanity over the years and going as far leaving the bearer of the crest delusional or demented. Due to this, their maids were trained in rituals like that of the transferal of the family crest to the next member should the current bearer be unable to do so himself.

Alexandra lived a relatively normal life in her childhood, while also learning the basics of magecraft. Out of pity, her mother, Charlotte, waited as long as possible to transfer the crest to her, knowing well the effects it would have on Alexandra and allowed her peace of mind. However, her father, the at the time bearer of the crest, was losing his lucidity and the already delayed transferal was scheduled. As debilitated as he was, the maids assisted in the ceremony and successfully transferred the crest to Alexandra, but this did's stop her father's fall into lunacy instead only slowing it.

Alexandra's father died a few years later and she already was demonstrating progress in illusions, but also started to have hallucinations soon after. Usually the side effects only showed much later; this rapid development was likely due to her talent in magecraft. Charlotte was actually sad that her daughter was as talented as she was as she would also lose her sanity faster, but helped her as much as she could.

Through her mid teens, Alexandra started to have recurring nightmares, becoming more and more frequent as time went by. At puberty she frequently had headaches and sometimes dizziness. While she had medication at her disposal to weaken the side effects of the crest, they returned soon after and she didn't want to abuse it as the suppression actually weakened her magecraft as well, so she only took them when the pain and discomfort was unbearable. To distract herself between doses, she took up a habit of reading novels and plays. She even tricked her own senses to make the scenes real in her eyes and that proved to be very effective.

Her progress was satisfactory, as she could already perform minor illusions at will and trick several senses at once relatively easy, which took her father over a decade to achieve. But her interest in studying magecraft was diminishing, she honestly saw no point in studying something that caused so much pain and the idea of having to pass it on to her children was repulsive at the least.

What filled her with hope, however, was the mysterious message she received from a man wearing golden armor. The Holy Grail could easily rid her of her torment and so she departed to Judea.

Origin and Elemental Affinity: Illusions.

Number of Magic Circuits and Quality of Magic Circuits: 40 of rank B.

Magic Circuit Switch: A snap of her fingers. As she can make minor illusions at will, the snap will echo to anyone that can be affected by her illusions. How much it echos determines how much one would be affected by her trickery.

Magecraft:
Gandr Shot (just because).

Illusions: various illusion types that can affect each of the senses. Can use one type at a time as single-action, two as a one-line and three as a two-line and so on. Can affect Servants with Magic rank of E~C with each rank reducing the effectiveness of the illusions, while B and above aren't affected at all. Magic Resistance of rank D is already enough to make the effects negligible and using more types of illusions at once have no added effect as it is merely quantitative. The Clairvoyance skill will not prevent one from being affected, but just by knowing what's actually fake weakens their effect.

Mental Link: Creates a bridge between herself and another person. Can more easily affect them with illusions (restrictions of Magic rank and Clairvoyance still apply) and transfer her sensations as well as read the target's mind, but this is very dull. One-line incantation.

Cradle of Nightmares: Invades the dreams on a person she's holding or is under the effect of Mental Link. As dreams are illusions themselves, Alexandra can take over them more easily than normal and turn them against the target. While this can't kill anyone it can leave them weakened afterwards. Defeating Alexandra while inside a dream will mentally hurt her and prevent the use of high-level magecraft. Can only affect a target that is asleep and a preparation of a five-line incantation as well as going to sleep herself is necessary. Ley lines and magical circles can amplify her range and chances of maintaining control of the dream.

Phantasmagoria: high-level thaumaturgy that affects anyone within a range of 50 meters, including Alexandra herself. Once inside the Phantasmagoria one cannot tell real from fake and all senses will be tricked. Will affect anyone without at least a rank A on Magical Resistance, although rank B already reduces the effect. A higher rank in Magic can reduce the effect of the illusions, but not cancel them. Alexandra can choose who is affected by it once they have been drawn inside. Five-line incantation.

Mystic Codes and Equipment: None.

Non-Magecraft Related Skills: Alexandra knows several fairy tales and plays almost by heart. Good at ignoring certain things when focusing. Can brush off pain and discomfort despite not being physically strong.

She might be a little OP for a Master. Also, I never heard of circuit quantity and quality, so I'll need some help on that.

@Slime I think Phantasmagoria is a little too strong. Remember, Mages are powerful, but not exactly powerful enough to take on a Servant. Their spells can be powerful, but if the Caster has a hard time with the Knight Classes, mage would have a even harder time. And the Caster excels at Magic more than a mage ever could.

Circuits are how many. For instance, Shiro Emiya has one or two, while I think Rin Tohsaka has closer to Seventy... and you see the type of Magic she is capable of.

Technically the restriction on Magical Resistance is correct as a rank A will be virtually imune to modern magic and rank B blocks anything below a three-line incantation. But I guess I can reduce Phantasmagoria's power.

And the rule that Masters can't defeat Servants was proven wrong several times through F/SN.

I did some research on the wiki and Shirou has 27 circuits, but their quality is so bad that the quantity is almost meaningless. And Rin has 40 and an extra of 30, I think. But the wiki doesn't explain much on the quality other than saying this character is good, that one isn't. But I guess that'll cut for now.

Don't worry, she won't have room for using it often without protection and it's pretty tiring too.

There are several cases actually. In Fate Rider can't kill Shirou (she was going easy on him, but still), Rin killed Berserker once and Shirou along with Saber killed Berserker several times at once. Then in UBW Shirou holds his ground against Archer and in HF he kills Berserker and cripples Saber Alter. Seriously, this rule doesn't hold much water at this point.

Literal plot armor. Apparently Shirou didn't die when Gil used Ea because Archer used Rho Aias around him, but it was so weak that it wasn't even visible. After that though it was all Shirou.

Appearance:
Standing at a height of 6'4, Michael is what you would expect if you look at the genetics of his family, as he is relatively the same height as his siblings. Often disliking how far it is to reach his shoes, he has a tendency to double knot his laces and pushing aside his blonde hair once he gets back up but it is a minor thing. Sporting a rather muscular and broad frame from his hobby of traveling around the world, making his body size quite imposing to some people. Having piercing green eyes that don't help but reinforce his intimidating presence as he unintentionally stares you down. He prefers to have a business casual look to him most of the time, which he likes to wear sweaters or if going with a more casual look, jackets.

Personality:
Michael is quite an interesting individual who has more that what seems to the eye, being quite a studious person but doesn't simply want to give out what he knows. Trying to have a disinterest in things is because of the effort that it would take for him to accomplish it if he would to intrude. He is a completely two-faced individual who tries to take care of the mask that he wears on for people around him. Holding the foundation of his persona that he has for such a long time that it has become natural for himself to simply just become what he was pretending to be. Having a serious personality and straight to the point, he isn't afraid to be direct if the situation calls for it. Being interestingly competitive when the right circumstances fall around, if you hit the right spots and triggered the correct events in order you might, just might crack that mask of his that he wears. Having an interest in finding things which can sate his hunger for not knowledge but adrenaline and fun, being quite the thrill seeker which can surprise people.

Brief Backstory:
The Asterea family is a family of ordinary Magi who are neither underachievers nor overachievers, but of course there are exceptions. Sometimes there are those who stand out in the family, like someone who possesses two elements, a general good magus or the occasional flunkie. Michael was considered to be the latter of the options as someone in the family who underachieved and was lacking in everything to become a Magus. Showing little skills in magecraft, despite the amount of magic circuits, it was clearly a waste from his relative’s perspective.

However, he showed them wrong when he was capable of beating his peers when sparring with them easily, overwhelming them with physical prowess. Despite his combative abilities, he was still looked down upon from his lack of skill what they considered was true ‘magecraft’. Still, he ignored them and continued working on himself, driving himself to best them and in general show that he was capable of overcoming his lacking skills. Working on himself as he improved under the pressure of his emotions and competitiveness as he aceled to new heights. Eventually joining the Mage’s Association as a student for while his general lacking skills in every area, he showed great promise should he manage to get through those barricades.

Eventually, he disconnected from his family entirely as he would go off his separate ways from them as too many difference widen the divide. His time in the Mage’s Association would prove to balance his uneven abilities, yet still keep his problem of being generally lacking in every area but to a lesser degree. Going back to his family, like every year which everyone attended, it was a ritual to see who was doing well and many more underlying reasons that were disguised as ‘a ‘family reunion’. Displaying his abilities once more like he did when everyone was younger, his specialty stood on a completely different level than everyone else while the divide with everything else seemed to only broaden. Still it could be said that he improved from before, yet still severely lacking in what he should have.

Origin and Elemental Affinity:
Michael's Origin and Affinity is both 'Configure' which has resulted in his general lack of repertoire for magecraft like most magus, with his sole specialty being the singular branch of magic Reinforcement and Alteration. With his skill being beyond what would deem necessary to a generally considered unimpressive form of magecraft, he stands beyond what most could achieve even if they tried to reach him.

Michael was born with 30 Magic Circuits that are above average quality

Magic Circuit Switch:
A deep breath that is taken in and held before being released, it's a fairly normal activator which the flow of magical energy comes after

Magecraft:
Michael's only notable form of magecraft is reinforcement magecraft, being able to improve the qualities of his body usually or sometimes to other objects. His unique specialty of reinforcement magecraft makes him very capable beyond what most mages know or even take the time to train for and has ascended to a different level of the skill completely. At his level of reinforcement, he easily is capable of taking down other mages even with his limited repertoire of magecraft quite easily. He also can use Alteration magecraft to change the properties of objects that he has as well to various uses but it is usually used in conjecture with Reinforcement. After his specialization, his other forms of magecraft are severely lacking in consideration to his background that they are practically nonexistent for any use.

Mystic Codes and Equipment:
Pertus is a Mystic Code which comes in a pair, both in the shape of a handle in a cylinder shape which he can hold easily. When his magical energy is channeled through the handles, they cause a beam of energy to appear as the blades to the handle. Being literally a saber of energy solidified, it acts like a potent plasma cutter and easily cuts through solids that cannot withstand it. As its name implies, it's configured to be 5 layers of magical energy, with it's nature is intended to either pierce through objects or cut through them.

By solidifying and manipulating magical energy, it works to Michael's specialty as the mystic code requires reinforcement magic to solidify the magical energy it emits. However, due to both emitting magical energy and apply reinforcement to them he can hold them both up for 7 minutes or one for 15 minutes before running dry on magical energy.

Skills:
Michael is an fairly ordinary looking person to those who don't know the life that hides underneath the curtains. Being a fairly charming person to be around with a tinge of quirkiness to add onto it, he in general he has mostly friends and some enemies. He is fairly an athletic person because he's an athlete, practicing several martial arts like judo, wrestling and finally boxing. While also dabbling in some ordinary sports like soccer and track during his free time with some friends. He is also fairly proficient with using a sword surprisingly, putting his apparent skill in it as 'luck' but clearly shows otherwise when playing around with brooms.

Hopefully he isn't too mundane, I don't want this to be Fate/School Days with ordinary and clueless masters (that would be very interesting to see however) but we have to have some of that crazy fate/strange stuff in a Holy Grail War.
