Completely different case.
People are getting agitated about it for the same reason.

You have obviously followed this very closely, and know a lot about the details of the case. What are your thoughts?
The Nexerus said
I don't know much about either case, but the reasons people are upset are something I've had to tolerate since long before either Dunn or Martin were killed.
Turt said In November 2012, Michael Dunn, a 47-year-old white male stopped at a local gas station in Jacksonville, Fla. with his then-fiancée. When he pulled up at the gas station parking lot, he parked next to a car full of young, black male teens playing loud music. In the backseat of the car of teens was Jordan Davis, a 17-year-old from Marietta, Ga.
Dunn apparently asked the teens to turn down their music. A verbal altercation ensued between Dunn and Davis. According to Dunn, Davis pulled out some object that appeared to be a shotgun. Dunn pulled his 9mm gun out of his glove compartment and fired eight or nine times into the car full of young teens. Jordan Davis was killed. Police never found any gun or object that Davis could possibly have used that Dunn would have mistaken for a gun.
Dunn left the scene of the shooting, went back to his hotel with his fiancée and ordered pizza. He never called the police.
Based on these facts, why couldn't a diverse jury find Dunn guilty of murder (rather than attempted murder)? The answer is simple: The law of self-defense in Florida does not require an individual to flee to avoid using lethal force. And, at least two Florida juries have interpreted the law to mean that anytime a young black male is present, the "reasonable fear" requirement (that allows a person to use lethal force) is satisfied.

What have you had to tolerate?E: That identified itself in the Dunn and Martin case?

Hypocrisy.
Turtlicious said
I'll play, how does Hypocrisy play into both these cases, and as something you have to deal with. (In the same severity ie: A life or death situation.)
The Nexerus said
In the same severity as a life or death situation it wouldn't be something I have to deal with at all, which is why I never claimed that.

takeout everything but the random letters at the end.

Well, you could always tell us what you're going on about.I mean, we have two situation where an African American was shot, and no weapons were found. In both situation the white males were not arrested, and later were let off. We have yet to hear about the situation happening in reverse. Then you come and say, "Everyone is angry at these cases because of hypocrisy, the same hypocrisy I have to tolerate."Am I missing something here? It seems like you're comparing your plight to Zimmerman's.
The Nexerus said
First of all, Zimmerman was not a white male.
If you looked around enough you'd be able to find plenty of cases less publicized than these where the innocent victims weren't minorities, so nobody cared whether they were killed unjustly or not. I'm not comparing myself to anyone or anything, I'm just getting tired of the rampant double standard in society over what people care about and what they don't.
The Nexerus said
Not harsh enough. The world would be a better place if that entire genre didn't exist. Normally I don't really care what people listen to, but the culture built up around that sort of music is a plague.

He wasn't convicted of murder because the prosecution was retarded and tried to get him convicted of FIRST DEGREE murder. Which, y'know. Requires premeditation. Now, that's not to say a legitimate claim like second degree murder would've worked. Because it's florida and poorly designed defense laws. But he legally couldn't be convicted of the first degree charge regardless. Because that'd simply be incorrect
