Just pondering, but you do realise that the entire point of a Kroot Shaper is to lead their charges down a certain path/to a certain shape?

If a Kroot, such as Malk appears to be doing, just takes on DNA here-and-there from multiple kills/prey/doners...well...he'll end up like a Knarloc, a Krootox or a Chaos Spawn AKA twisted into something without shape.

As I say, I'm sure you know this, but thought I'd check anyway.

Yeah, I know that's the role of Shapers, and how Malkath isn't one nor possesses one's guidance its why he has the MPD, he's already consumed too many divergent species and the early stages are their different personas are playing with his head, and (for the moment at least) giving him considerable abilities.

I'm thinking almost like an early The Fly scenario, where at his current stage there are more benefits to his condition than drawbacks, but left unchecked, yeah he'll reach an evolutionary dead-end.

@Quinntessential The pirate Captain is not dead, so someone should take him out first. You'll then need to transmit a 'mission successful' message to the orbiting ship; if anyone does have anything else they'd like to do/can think of while they're in the colony, then please go for it.

@Jbcool@Quinntessential I'd also like a little more time spent planetside. The pirate captain could be a miniboss, if you like. With power armour, and a plasma cannon. And, uh... the plasma cannon is poorly maintained, so it eventually explodes, opening up a weak point in the armour that the players can exploit with precision and/or a well-timed melee strike, so long as they can avoid the captain's power sword? I dunno, I'm just spitballing here.

@Jbcool - The next scene I see is her and Kaicero coming in, with their stealthy eldar friend in tow. Nakera tries not to vomit while fiddling with the systems and identifies that the Boss is currently doing all sorts of terrible, defiling things to the installation's main reactor? Maybe he's planning on detonating one of the ships or something - I don't know. Apocalyptic scenario. Nakera feels better not being alone so she goes with, knowing they'll also need help fixing whatever things he's doing to agitate the Reactor's machine spirits.

As I say, I mostly write around what people do, so feel free to have a semi-power armoured madman attemtping to detonate the entire facility while Nakera vomits and someone manages to detonate his plasma weapon or whatever really. He just needs to die! Could even just 'open him up' for another merc to eliminate.

I also wrote my scene with the potential intent that some of the others might stumble upon him on the way to Comms, actually have Malkath show off some interaction beyond interacting with his own mind . . . even though he'll be a bloody mess. lol
