The Facts

Welcome to New Future Academy, found on a private island out in the pacific. It belongs to no country, accepting students from all over the world at a middle or high school level. The school looks like a large mansion and an entire village is built around it solely for the benefit of the staff and students, allowing no others onto the island. It's very prestigious and selective, although the general public doesn't know for sure what they're selecting for.

The Dark Clubroom

As it turns out there's a secret location known as the dark clubroom, which also serves as the name of the group itself, within the school grounds that trains students with special powers to take over the world! The powers themselves depend on the individual and are not very well understood at the moment, seemingly appearing in some children and fading out over time before most people realize that they even had powers at all. Some people who realize their powers during this time can retain it with enough diligence and practice, and these people are comprised of a few of the teachers and the principal in on the conspiracy. Despite the selection process, which only accounts for the possibly of there being potential, only around 15% of the student body actually end up having magical ability upon further up close examination. If they pass the test then they are offered to join the dark clubroom after proving themselves loyal to the cause of evil and sign a magically binding contract. The rest just go about their average school life, blissfully unaware of what's going on behind the scenes.

The Counter

As it turns out there's a secret organization known as the Counter who tries to stop threats such as those of the Dark Clubroom. They have gathered their own students from all over the world to infiltrate this school as if they were normal students, trying to find out who's in on the conspiracy and eliminate them.

The Confrontation

Battles take place between the Dark Clubroom and The Counter all the time in an endless struggle, casualties occurring on both sides. However, it remains secret due to magical abilities that keep people without magical powers of their own ignorant on the matter. Being on an island it's hard for outsiders to get an idea of what's going on even without being within the influence of this power, so they think their children are just having a dandy school year at school, and those on the island think that the students who got captured or killed got transferred off the island. This ruse won't work once the school year ends and the students wont make it back to their homes, but by that time the Dark Clubroom plans on having control over the world anyways. Just as long as they can keep upgrading their abilities and take out those meddlesome Counter students who are the only thing standing in their way.

The Plot

The plot will follow both the Dark Clubroom and Counter students as they try to discover each other's identities and secretly eliminate them. Which side you choose is completely up to you. The story will begin on the first day of school when they are secretly tested for magical ability and, if you chose to be in the dark clubroom, are sent there after signing a magical contract. Rather then go to normal classes, they get special classes and get to eat cookies every day. The tone is mostly just crazy fun action with some comedy and possible romance among the older students. It can be serious at certain times, but not commonly.

The Rules

1. Standard forum and casual section rules apply.
2. Nothing M rated. Fade to black and take it to PMs if that's the case.
3. If people are waiting on you to post for more then 3 days then I or someone else I designate can do some minor controlling of your character to move the plot forward. If you remain gone for an entire week then more severe meddling can be made (anything at all that is deemed necessary to move the plot forward).
4. There will be no exact posting order, but do not post again until two others get a chance to post between each of your posts. Also, if you're in a situation involving other people then you should wait until all others involved post before posting again. If rule number three is invoked with their absence then you may post again before them.

Personality: Brooding, sociopathic, isolated and sadistically demented...At least, that’s what he ties to play off as. He tries to appear as the baddest boy of all the bad boys. He doesn’t let anyone talk bad about him and he’s all about keeping his own sense of demanded respect. He’s full of himself and looks down on others and aims to appear as a guy that could take anything on. He’d turn a blind eye to someone being hurt and completely condone acts of violence on others. That’s all apart of the role he was designed to play and he is fairly adept at pretending to be a villain.

However, Dallas isn’t like that. In fact, he’s such a phony that Dallas isn’t even his real name. He’s got a good head on his shoulders and surprisingly has strong morals. He remembers the name and face of everyone he’s even ever gotten into an argument with and every bully that has decided to punk any other person, whether they were his friend or not. He doesn’t like suffering or seeing others cry, but he’s smart enough to know when and where to pick his battles. He’s always been careful and, when his abilities started to demonstrate themselves early on, he sought to dedicate his abilities towards justice and nobility.

Power: Molecular Speed Manipulation

• Acceleration - He can accelerate his body to have super speed or accelerate objects in his possession for hyper momentum application. He can control the rate at which something travels through a spatial field, exists at rest, or even manipulate the active state of something to hyper enhance the reactive potential of an object. His abilities allow him to, at their most simplistic, make things faster. If he were to grab something in motion he could make it move many times faster and if he were to pick something up and chuck it through the air he could make it fly as fast as a bullet through the sky. By touching something he can accelerate it, molecularly, and stimulate the object that he is in contact with subatomically, causing energy. He can, by extension, cause things that he comes into physical contact with to spontaneously combust. This gives him the ability to cause something to catch fire or, should he desire, explode. His most common use of this ability is to make himself or the space directly in contact with himself, to hyper accelerate offering superhuman speeds. Applications include: Hyperspeed [120 mph], Hyperthrow [220 Propulsion], Hyperreflexes [80+ mph reaction], Hyperintuition [Accelerated nerve impulses], Hyperstrength [Force accelerator (speed x impact)], Quantum Tunnelling [Molecular vibration acceleration], and Eruption [Combust objects via Acceleration].

Bio: Timothy’s father is a General Counsel for the US CIA. His mother is an Inspector General in the CIA and a retired Warrant Officer from the US Army. As such, he was born from a highly militaristic environment. Everything was “Yes Sir” and “No Ma’am” and he was typically punished with a lot of physical exercise and mind numbing extra school work. His parents were strict, but they always enforced strong moral and a good attitude. They also taught their child how to understand people and, as he grew into his early elementary years, how to spy.

Timothy was bred, specifically genetically engineered, to be a spy. Unlike many other children, Timothy’s powers were manufactured in a laboratory. He was given special genes, among many other children, and introduced to chronic doses of specialized radiation, all in order to make him the ultimate super soldier. His parents taught him how to act like one. They taught him to be physically fit and active as well as to conceal the truth and talk his way out of a situation.

It wasn’t a surprise that Timothy, with perfect grades and a talented jock in all sports, was selected for a prestigious school. When the New Future Academy sent him their interest letter his parents were both in agreement to refuse. They still needed to tailor their child to be a great, skilled spy that would one day replace them both in the Federal hierarchy, however Timothy wanted some freedom.

Using his gifts with persuasion, he managed to convince his parents to let him go. He swore that, when he graduated, that he’d jump right into college and getting a degree in whatever it was they wanted him to go into. He just really wanted to escape from them, for a while, and this was the opportune moment. His parents were somewhat half aware of this and it was his father’s adamant push that really got Timothy out of the house.

His parents were still very careful, however. They knew the strict guidelines for the New Future Academy, but they didn’t want the institution finding out about their very expensive prodigal child. As such, they doctored all his documents and gave him the name Dallas Youngblood. They generated a family history, personal history, birth documents and had Dallas memorize an upbringing, symmetrical to his own, designed for Dallas.

When Dallas left for the New Future Academy he was 14. Through his unique deductive skills he managed to find the Dark Clubroom and, the moment he found out what they represented...He swore to take them down!

Unlike members of the actual Counter, Dallas is rouge. He does not associate with the Counter, despite having the same mission as them, and does not consider himself on their side. If it means remaining a part of the Dark Clubroom then he will readily fight or debate or bar the side of the Counter. Even though Dallas wants the Dark Clubroom taken down he moves to his own terms and for his own purposes towards his own mission.

Other: Dallas is genetically engineered. His powers were manifested in his youth, however they are artificial in nature. His abilities cannot be passed down nor can they be replicated, even by an individual with an ability to copy powers. He was given the best of the best when it comes to genes (to the point that he looks nothing like his donor parents). Due to his upbringing and genetic make-up he is smart, muscular, and has no biological deficiencies or illnesses. He’s built perfect.

Personality: A humble "Country-Boy". Who never seemed to fit in but, always makes sure the job is done.
Appearance: Average height for his age, wears plaid button-up shirts and khakis his mom buys him but, he would rather wear A&F t-shirts and jeans. He has dark-black hair, and DEEP blue eyes. He has a fair tan, that usually clashes with his eyes and hair, but he isn't ugly.
Power: He can freeze things at touch and when he concentrates on water, he can instantly freeze it, too. Later on, with some training, he'll be able to shoot ice out of his hands and generate ice around himself.(If he survives long enough.) The reason why cold emanates around John, and learns to control it, is... No one know, no one knows why the doctors office became freezing when he was born, or why he can suddenly feel extremely cold when meeting new people, or when cold doesn't usually affect him, or why when he milks the cow it gets angry at him because of the cold. It could be genetic, it could be from exposure to radiation that no one new about, it could be that there was a magical guardian who has protected him for some reason, and there are many other possibilities, but no one know for sure.
Bio: John never really fit in with most people even though he was nice, funny, athletic, and a little handsome, he just didn't fit in. He had a few friends who share his interest but, not many. Whenever he tried talking to new people he would feel a cold lump in his throat. Every morning he would wake up at 5:00 to milk the cow, who always seemed to be mad at him, get ready for school, then drive 4 hours to Billings, a large city with better schools. Everybody called John "JohnFrost" because the room seemed to get noticeably colder when he entered, and he loves to build stuff out of snow. He enjoys listening to music and playing football, his favorite band is Green Day and his favorite team is the Bears. He earns decent grades and his favorite subject is history. His goals are to raise a family with good kids, run his dad's farm, join the reserves (for the Army), and make the football team.
When John was sent the letter from New Future, he didn't want to go. He would be leaving behind his friends and realized that once he finished there, he wouldn't be able to just work on his Dad's farm like he always wanted, society would expect him to get a "fancy" degree and acquire a high-paying job. This is the same reason his parents sent him to the Academy. His parents didn't know that it was because of the incident where an entire lake froze an hour after his son was swimming in it. It made the news, it was in the summer when it happened, but the Sorenson's didn't watch the news that often. As soon as The Counter got a hold of the info, the letter was sent.

For the percentage of people with abilities in the school, I'll raise it to 15%. With only 5% there would need to be tons and tons of people to have enough playable characters with abilities, far less have any decent sized battles going on.

Personality: Doc is on the hyper side prone to fidgeting and twitching at regular intervals. He doesn't like to sit and will pace around if allowed fiddling with things he can pick up and occasionally breaking them. He has a flair for the dramatic and is prone to rambling when allowed though when working becomes very quite. He is messy by nature his work areas cluttered with a plethora of small bits and baubles. While he is rather open that does not mean he is trusting and has few if any actual friends even among his supposed allies in the Club-room, jealously keeping his secrets. He is also obsessed with "Doing things right" though what he believes is right is often rather odd.

Power: When asked what makes him special Dmitri will claim that he is one of the most brilliant minds to have ever walked th earth and that his intelligence makes Edison look like a child in comparison. If asked to show this he would eagerly point out a laser pistol he built using a flashlight and parts from a lawnmower, or a robot he made out of a toaster and some scrap metal, or even this special chemical that can turn you invisible. But if you were to examine all these things you would see them as junk and that they couldn't possibly do what he claimed but in his hands they do while in yours they fall apart. You see Dmitri is an awful scientist but he is a strong psychic and his belief that an invention will work causes his psychic powers to activate, holding the contraption together and causing it to work even when it honestly shouldn't.

Bio:
Dmitri was the result of a one night stand between an US army medic stationed in an american base in Zurich and a German hooker. Unwanted by his mother she gave him up for adoption immediately and so began his life kicking around the state orphanages until at the age of six he was adopted by an american couple and moved to LA where he continued to grow up. During his early childhood he took solace in watching old low budget movies and began to idolize the people in them specifically the scientists. In fact he came to the Club-Rooms attention when he sicked one of his first creations on a child who had bullied him hospitalizing the boy. After the incident the Dark Club-room arranged to have him transferred to the school to cultivate his abilities.

Personality: Quirky but determined, Hideko has done much to earn her rather fitting title, as well as the reputation she holds among her peers. She embraces her title wholeheartedly, even making changes to her persona so that she fits it even better than she originally did. At this point, her persona has sunk in and become what defines her as a person, she has mostly forgotten the way she acted before taking on her current appearance, but none of that matters as long as she achieves her goal. She isn't a brilliant mind, and in fact she has been called stupid on many occasions, but she possessed an extraordinary fighting spirit that lets her overcome most problems so long as they can be solved with liberal use of violence. She's surprisingly great at understanding the feelings of others, especially weaklings, and will go to great lengths to make sure those feelings are never trampled on. Very loyal, but follows her own code of honour that may not correspond with the ideals of others.
Power: Hideko's power is exactly that, pure, unadulterated power, concentrated so strongly in her body and mind that she is able to create supernatural phenomenon through sheer force of will. She has no fancy moves, special techniques or magic spells worth noting, so you could hardly call her ability an ability at all, however this in no way means that she is weak. In reality, her magical power is so absurdly high that she couldn't hope to even attempt controlling it under normal circumstances, so instead it mostly remains untapped and unrefined, releasing itself from her body only at the whim of her subconscious. When she concentrates her fighting spirit, she is able to release her magical power to affect the world around her, whether it be through unfocused blasts of raw magical power or even more complicated applications ranging from solid barriers to instantaneous movement across huge distances. Truly, while her ability may lack finesse, it is extraordinarily effective when engaging in simple, hand-to-hand combat, as its wide variety of uses makes for an unpredictable yet deadly fighting style. Additionally, with its high flexibility and strength that relies almost entirely on fighting spirit and willpower, Hideko holds at her disposal an almost inexhaustible pool of energy from which she can draw to achieve her goals.

Due to her ridiculous magical power, her mere presence is on the level of a magical phenomenon, and when things heat up her subconscious power activation almost makes it seem as if her power is simply a natural part of her being. However, because she has no real "method" behind her abilities, there is a high chance of them failing her if she doesn't have the willpower to use them. The subconscious nature of her powers, while a huge advantage in some places, is also a major disadvantage in itself. Her powers rarely have precise, well-defined effects, mostly ranging from physical enhancement to self-protection, however her willpower is able to create a wide variety of abilities under specific circumstances.

Personality: She's overconfident and noble, acting all high and mighty while giving the ojou-sama laugh when things go her way. She simply cannot admit defeat even if it is staring her right in the face. She'll always have an excuse, most likely someone else's fault or the cruel fate of the universe that conspired against someone so great. She helps out people who she likes, showing how much better she is then them. She has trouble making true friends because of this, and deep down can actually become quite lonely at times. She doesn't think anyone can understand her on her level.

Power: Luck. Her luck allows her to be able to not only get out of danger, but also "master" weapons she's never or hardly used, such as picking up a gun and luckily hitting all of her targets as if she's an expert sharpshooter. Luck will not usually go so far as to send a meteor crashing down on her enemies unless she concentrates really hard for extended periods of time. Luck can't usually make her opponent stumble around in an empty hallway, but if they were in a dimly lit room littered with objects then her luck would have a much easier time making them stumble on something.
Bio: Her mother is a Norwegian and her father a wealthy American businessman who traveled to Norway due to his company. Anita was a spoiled, well off only little girl her entire childhood. With her luck, despite not being particularly bright, she was able to ace all of her tests at school due to the material she studied happen to be on the tests all the time, or when she didn't study at all the test was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, or many other bizarre reasons. Those at New Future Academy took interest in her after she appeared to be getting far too lucky for it to be natural. They offered her a scholarship into the school, which her father pushed her into because it was very prestigious sounding. She found such a school the only one worthy of her talents so she accepted, quick to join the Dark Clubroom once she was determined to indeed have magical powers that would be very helpful in their quest for world domination. She desires to be at the top when the dust finally settles, not a mere pawn in the game the principal is playing.
