I mean, like 75% of all Stepfords are modeled after anime characters. We've got catgirls, we've got blue-haired shy girls, we've got century-old lolis who've seen some shit.

Honestly the circumstances behind the creation of Stepfords is going to lead to "Little Stepford girl with PTSD" being a stock character in Terran fiction right alongside "Old wise man" and "Determined protaganist".

Oh I agree on that count. I was commenting on the fact the sexual escapades of these other himan nations makes the Neo Sovs look even more weirdly conservative then I'd intended.

I still haven't made an NCS or whatever you guys call them; I honestly can't settle on any one idea. I've went over robotic 'benevolent precursors' hiding out on a ringworld, moth dudes with biological and magic technologies, a combination of the two previous ideas merged with a 'oh yeah, there's a giant monster in this dyson sphere. it's a cage.', and now I'm thinking of the born-again consciousnesses of a previous coalition of races who uploaded themselves to one or two 'computer planets' to survive some previous apocalyptic war. Like the CORE from Total Annihilation? That'd be cool.

I think I'm just gonna go with that.
