Well, I'm clearly going to end up setting fire to the L-Space dimensions (and therefore quite possibly the entirety of space and time), so I'll take now as an opportunity to say just how great it was sharing Jorde's head with you all - unfortunately that'd be a lie.'

'Jorde, I am incredibly sorry about doing this to you, but we're going to need to shoot fire up and forwards. It's about the only way we can get light. It's a bad idea, one of the worst I've ever had (maybe even the worst), but we need light to see the shadows...'

With a mutter of strange incantations that appeared in his mind with the presence of Octavium, slithers of fire burst from his fingertips, engulfing the ceiling in flame. it quickly spread down towards the bookcases, licking at the wood and freeing the fidgetting books within. Suddenly the thomes litered the ground, but that was not all:

The whole area alight, Jorde could now see everything clearly. A black shadow, writhing, filled with a consuming emptiness, stood in reach of the Old Man Wizard. It hissed at the flames, recoiling from them as it was about to grab Christopharius.

"oh my," said the old Wizard, peering up at the creature.

"oh my," said Jorde, more to you then the old man. The room was filling with smoke.

What do we do now? he asked, we're locked in a room with a creepy creature and also the room is on fire and also we're locked in and also i don't want to die!!!

'No one learnt/knows anything like B_ANISH D_ARKNESS or H_OLY L_IGHT?' groaned Octavium. 'How about P_LOT R_ESUSCITATION? B_URN H_EAL? Nope. OK. Jorde, no-one learnt anything of any obviously applicable use/Deus Ex stuff. See if you can't grab one of those books flying past? Tell me what the cover says if you manage it. Oh, and Tookie Dearest, why would I damage this vehicle if I have no guarantee of safety for myself? I look after myself. And it would be nice to have an apprentice already tamed if I can get my own body...
