The Night Prior to the Battle for Black Forest

The church bells rung throughout the forest as it took the men of the Order passed its doors, taking shelter were they could. Many more were camped outside, chatting and laughing about life and other day to day things. But amongst the joy there was an aura that they all felt. Death's shadow blanketed them that night, filling them with peace, or a false sense of it. Still, some did not want to accept what was coming. Many had lost someone they cared for, someone they loved. Friends, family, brothers, sisters, cousins and those that were allowed, wives. campfires stretched all around the church, giving the holy place a divine defense of mortal men, devoted to their beliefs and their cause. But inside the church, the higher ranks gathered in its basement, a map to the area and where the expected attacks were to come. Nothing was ever guaranteed, the movements of these creatures of hell had no specific target but the targets themselves being the world. The only thing the Order relied on in this situation was faith and hope, two things that they would give back to the rest of the world.

"My brothers, tomorrow we face off against the forces of darkness. Their terror has passed throughout the world and many have passed because of their hatred. But by the grace of God we will be victorious in the end...Or die trying. We are expecting resistance here-" Grand Master Angelo pointed to the map. A clearing that was separated by a small creek that ran southwest and towards the northeast. "We will catch them there." He took in a long breath before sighing.

"Apparently the U.N troops have made post there, expecting the same resistance I suppose." Another spoke up.

"I've heard that they have already had engagements. Just a matter of time." One shrugged.

"It matters not, we have @Rogue Colm@Polaris North@ICanBeAnyone others who are off somewhere dwindling their numbers so when they do approach again if they have already, there will not be many. @Ghost Queen Reinhardt, what say you? I will have the Templar order take them head on while Father Andersen flanks them with a Calvary charge-" Earning a nod from Andersen.

"-but what of the Teutonic Order or at least your company. What do you plan to do?" He asked quizzically.

After he received his answer the Grand Master nodded and finished up the battle plans. It would be a long day tomorrow. Many would not come back from this and they all silently knew the choices they made now and the actions they should the next day would determine a lot. In silence they stood which seemed like hours but nearly minutes before one of the sergeants started to sing. "Daaaaahhhh pahhhcem, Dominehhhh, in diebus nostris-" They looked among each other and slowly they joined in until it echoed through the church and out into the churches ground where the rest of the encampment laid. Soon, the forest filled with song. It was beautiful but held such a macabre aura around it. A song of joy and yet a song that held the fate of many in the day to come.

Dalca was standing next to the large table where the map had been laid out. The map of catastrophy, so her inner thought. Not because it was of bad quality, but because it was of so good quality that the severity of their situation was all too obvious. The young, curvy woman had been one of the first to go down the stairs. What was the point of attending to a briefing when you weren't able to see the object of interest the highest ranks were talking about because there were people in front of you ? The ones who happened to let their glance range across her appearance would notice how she was scanning the parchment, one of her elbows held horizontally in belly-height to act as a support for the other arm whose fisted hand her chin was resting on.

She didn't say anything though. First of all she felt that her plans might not be fully fledged yet. Secondly, there was a question pending for Reinhardt. It would probably be considered impolite to interrupt this with own comments, even if it meant that there was a bit of silence.

Her giant brother didn't have such worries. He wasn't of high rank, so he wasn't down there with them. Instead, he was plodding through the extensive camp around the church. The general arousal had gotten him out of the improvised dining tent, he knew that it was the eve of battle. He knew that he likely wouldn't be able to sleep, so he had already strapped himself into the major parts of his gear. The decision of sending the Templars dead ahead into battle was far from reaching his ears, but wasn't this the order's usual approach ? Seis had to arrange for a suitable horse for that, so the man was on the lookout for someone who would actually be willing to give him one.
