@reddusk That'd actually be pretty cool now that I think about it. How about the tattoos are magical and automatically read in whatever language the viewer is native to @write? This way it would look normal to everyone, sorta.

However, she's gonna have a hell of a time explaining how she managed to ink her skin in the stone age as I'm pretty sure ink hasn't been invented yet??

I think I figured out a solution:

Solution

Persephone’s curse is in the form of a tattoo, or rather birthmark, it is something that changes with the era she finds herself in. In every era it is below her skin and permanently unreachable. Currently it looks like tribal pain on her ankle in the shape of a Lion. Once literacy is more common and so forth it begins with the word Superbia, which is found on her ankle. This is permanently there, however it starts very small. As the curse consumes her life force, it grows to fit her entire calf, with more tattoos appearing along with it. Flowers, waves, tears, stars. Many things begin to consume her, but the most notable are the following seven words, or symbols once more depending on the era: “Luxuria, Gula, Avartia, Acedia, Ira, Invidia, and finally Superbia are the symbols. While the Snake, Pig, Frog, Goat, Bear, Dog and Lion are the symbols during Tribal eras and time periods. Superbia (Lion) and Ira (Bear) taking her legs, Invidia (Dog) and Acedia (Goat) her arms, Gula (Pig) her stomach and Luxuria (Snake) her throat. When she is fully consumed, she will be fully consumed with the sins she bears for everyone. With minor usage, only the seven words appear or animals, the rest of her life force being drained is what brings all of the surrounding art, as it were.

This way, during tribal times the sins are represented through the animals that have represented them in the past, animals are a common thing in this time period so it shouldn't be a problem - even if not everyone understands it. And during this era it looks more like tribal paint but is trapped underneath her skin. Explained as far as she knows, as a birthmark. Thanks for the heads up!

Hmm, I believe tattoos already exist in this era. Xena has one as well.

The CS says:
"Please include things like: height, build, hair style: colour and length, eyecolour, facial features, posture, tattoos, scars, wounds, piercings, clothing style, and anything else you believe is important."

But I could be wrong. @Mae Confirm, please.

Well. We can have people inventing tattoos a bit earier since we already have iron tools and all. Maybe the practice hasnt caught on due to the fact that infection is a thing.

Since books already exist (though rare) I'd assume they already have ink.

Also, in the olden times, they used a mixture of charcoal and water. It would be tapped into the skin through a thorn.

Tattoos already existed in the ancient times.

Love the CS man, but;

The scorn of heavens is kinda weird, in that, it's not like we're (our characters) borrowing from some Gods, we're actually those gods. We don't have need a 'connection' with them, shown by magic dwindling in the world but we can still use it cause the power is within the reincarnations themselves. Our immortal selves aren't locked up in heaven I think.

Industria et Humanitas: A village or small clan

With that small change the sheet is perfect! I imagine her adoptive clan would be the Roamwyns and now she is in the "currently travelling" section (which includes people who have left their clans to live in the forests.) So feel free to add her up the the CS tab.

Interestingly, if her parents died and she left her clan at 12, would that mean she has not had her coming of age ritual yet so she's having it now? Or did she have it in the previous clan gathering?

Also on the tattoo debate: You can have written word in your tattoo if your god/goddess would understand language or not.

Tattoos are involved in the era, yes :D The earliest tattoo found IRL was dated to 3370 - 3100 BC, but there's evidence to suggest it was around as early as 4000 BC :3

@inertia Good Point! I think it's just a language issue, though. Mechanically speaking it dappens the powers of immortals and causes them to act chaoticly, so maybe it just needs a slight tweak of wording
