Cool!
Also while this is at the forefront of my mind:
ANNOUNCEMENT
This is the way I've been running this in my head, but I don't think I've stated it anywhere.
Instakill abilities do not affect Players the same way as NPCs. This means:
You can instakill an NPC, be it human, monster or otherwise using your ability everytime. Unless it's pretty high up there on the magic-imbued scale(near god level), it gon die cause thats thematic and fun.
You cannot instakill another player the same way. Abilities that are 'instakill' versus environment or NPCs will still, generally, seriously affect another player, causing serious wounds ect ect. But this also depends very strongly on the situation, and, more importantly, lifeforce. If they are
high lifeforce (particularly if they're higher then you), they will have higher chances to avoid the instakill effect, or not take as much damage. If they're pulling by on 1 lifeforce and are seeing visions of their dead grandpa inviting them to tea then... those are the situations where an instakill might proc. These are more extreme examples, but you get the idea.
Using lifeforce is supposed to be the big killer in this game - that it's a
choice. This roleplay is supposed to be a safe setting to explore character death. Players do still experience death vs. environment but chances are y'all gonna explode yourselves deliberately out of choice and it will be
glorious. To take a player out of an era for one cool scene, particularly if it's early on, isn't really fair. Of course I still encourage combat and fights to the death if it suits your character and you want to do so, just... murder responsibly, guys. Murder responsibly. The person you're murdering has alot of feelings, ok? ;_;
Of course, you may discuss in OOC and get written permission to murder someone, and then i don't care you can do what you like :DDD
Please note I don't have anyone in mind when I mention this, I've just seen a few people worried about this stuff. I may add a rule regarding instakilling pre-emptively, just so everyone's on the same page about it. Mostly because I've somehow blanked that this could be a problem xD
right. Sleep deprived Mae is going to bed now and she'll cringe at herself tommorrow :p
