I'm thinking it would be fun to have the world be sort of like a videogame in that people tend to fall into different classes such as being the tank, archer, mage, etc, and include other tropes as well. They aren't technically in a videogame, but inspiration being there would be a plus for me.

Uh, people tend to do that anyway in Arena. Though if people are fighting in teams, I'm sure they'll naturally gravitate towards one of those positions.

Well, normally there's not really a place for a healer in the Arena. That would be something this offers, because it's more than just the standard '1v1 me on rust scrub' there's more room for diverse skillsets. There's no need for everything to be decided by a duel with swords in a sandy arena.

Also Melons's idea is the one I had. We used a similar thing for the persistent world where I got the map for Allaria.

1. We need a mascot race like the moogles. Maybe they are called Moochals. Just throwing that out there.

2. If you die you respawn at the last shrine you visited, but someone has to perform some ritual and pay a fine first. It doesn't work on those who's time has come or special deaths. You likely need part of their Dna as part of the ritual to get it to work or else if you die then someone can already be at the shrine to respawn you and send you back quickly. Plus you can stop people from respawning enemies more easily this way. I may use this for one of my own settings but it can be copied for use here.

Edit: of yeah, but the guy left at the shrine could already be holding onto a strand of their hair just in case, so that point about it is moot.

3. I think gunpowder shouldn't be invented yet. Maybe some guns that work with magic but it has major drawbacks.

4. I know clockwork is likely just an example, but magical clockwork beings seem like it could be an actual good opponent. Maybe there are three guilds competing and also on the side is a big bad magical robot army. His empire is obviously more advanced then the rest and sometimes you have to all team up.

Apparently discord links work in browser, so you won't have to download anything.

Also, yeah, having leaders send people on missions or give optional quests seems like the smartest idea. All things considered, collab stuff doesn't always work out. Sometimes people get into non-inclusive groups that alienate other folks. So having a leader of an inclusive group that sets certain events is a good way to go.

I ran things similar in Allaria and Rising Stars, a bleach RP. It worked really well, as it made people work together in groups, instead of sending them off to different areas on their own. One guy tried to go to the human world alone.

I think this idea would work really well here with proper backing. The set up isn't hard, I believe the hardest issue will be character acceptance. That has always been a sticking point for any incarnation.
