It says he can fight multiple level 1 (one) people while playing chess. As a level 4, I don't see how that's overpowered. It's like fighting a bunch of toddlers.

Enemies with various weaponry and combat prowess. While not at superhuman levels, Level 1 fighting ranges from none to black belt (or other various equivalents). Essentially, if a human can do it, then it's level 1. Being able to fight off multiple of these while having enough concentration left over to also participate in even one high-intensity chess match would be far more difficult than simply pushing toddlers away.

Wait, 180 is the movement limit, for the whole character, right? What about strike speed?

Land and air speed. Essentially how fast can they close the gap between two points.

180 is the limit for constant movement speed of a character (ie, when they're running a marathon), but I'd assume strike speed can be considerably higher (even I can swing my arm faster than I can run). I think the problem with the lightning dash is that its only limitation is the 100 meter distance. My character's teleporting is along similar lines, but in order to get it approved it has very finite and well-defined constraints regarding distance, energy consumption, and cooldown time. I can't use it over and over post after post to land blow after unavoidable blow.

Or at least I think that's how it works.

I can understand that :) I like describing things in a way that catches interest, rather than a spreadsheet listing weight capacity and whatnot. Not everyone is fond of it.

I understand the direction you're coming from, but as the GM, I have to assume that you're meaning the strongest interpretation of the description (i.e. holding off several master samurai and martial artists, not bank tellers and janitors).

Sorry if I sound nitpicky.

Yup, the main problem with it is that it allows her to travel great lengths at higher-than-acceptable speeds. At much smaller lengths (like, much, much smaller), it'd be more reasonable.

Ah... must be an inside joke I'm not getting. Carry on then...

Not really an inside joke, just a char being accepted before the sever got wiped.

I see the logic. And while I could argue that being a level 4 martial artist would mean one could easily wipe the floor level 1 martial artists, I'm not going to bother, because I've already edited out the chess part. So I'm really just waiting for you to look over the whole character so I can get other pointers or a go-ahead. :D Being nitpicky isn't that bad. No worries.

For the record though, I was thinking goons/mooks rather than full-fledged master samurais/karate champions xD You know, the types that fall over if you shoot in their general direction.

Edit; So to summarize; the stuff you have issues with have been removed.

So, maybe I can run at 11 mph, and that would be acceptable, but I really have no limit on fast I can throw a punch?

So, if you don't bring up anything on characters, can I assume we're good to go? I mean, I kept Sam exactly the same as he was in the last iteration, so can I get started on posting with him?

The limit on how fast you can throw a punch is placed on the character by their own physical condition. Being able to throw a punch so fast that it strikes with 6 tons of force wouldn't do you much good if your arm shatters from the impact. Not to mention that anything in the super-human range would have to count as a power or ability and would be looked at as such.

Right now, not only do I have a cold, but I'm also super drowsy and have a killer headache and my allergies are acting up now too, just to throw one more punch into my gut. I'll look him over asap, but for right now, I'm struggling to do the work I need to get done.

My time is right now. I've gone through and taken a look at everyone, and Im ready to talk about all of them. First off, Evvie and Sam are accepted as they are. They're the same as they were in the last version, so I see no reason to change them.

Weiss, I think if you take out White, and make purple more clear in your character sheet, you should be okay to go. Please edit your character sheet to include everything Crapton said, that way its all in an easy to find location. If you give some actual stats on the fire and ice and stuff, that would make it even easier to decide. I know you're going just off of what is shown, but making up some stats would go a long way to making a character.

Gravity girl, Im honestly not sure what to do about you. I dont really know how to handle gravity without it being OP in an arena sense, but I also wouldnt want to tell you to use an entirely different character.

Green, I think your character should be okay if you take into consideration everything said so far.

Hanta is good to go I think. Her powers seem pretty reasonable, as long as she has the "Ability to move at lightning speeds" Taken out or reduced. I think a SHORT lightning dash would be fine, but a long range one most certainly would not. Hitting someone moving that fast would vaporize them.

If there's anyone I missed, let me know.

I've been getting curious lately about why various comic books and also this site claim that peak human strength is the ability to dead lift 600 lbs, so I went and looked it up. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the deadlift record is just a hair over 1,000 lbs. Which brings me to my question. Is there a particular reason that the "peak human" strength is 400 lbs short of actual peak human strength?

Schradinger, buddy.

I'm assuming that by 'peak' human strength they mean: They've trained not only their strength but also their speed.

Those people that can lift upwards of 1k lbs can't run at all, guaranteed. They focus solely on the muscular strength and don't focus on cardio, thus sacrificing one in favor of another.

That would make sense if the max strength for a tier 1 character was 1,000 lbs, since you have to trade away your speed in order to be that strong, but the max for a human with no powers says half that. It seems like tier 2 is actually the max human level stuff (not slightly superior to human like it says) while tier one doesn't even bear mentioning. A balanced tier 1 character would only be able to lift about 200 pounds, jog at a speed of 3 mph, and take one or two punches before going down. That doesn't seem to even be worth putting on the scale.

Or am I reading it wrong and tier 1 is actually meant to be filled with sickly people like me in real life?

Tier 1: Below average people with no training.
Tier 2: Average people with no training.
Tier 3: Above average people who are experts in their martial art or weapon.
Tier 4: (Biggest jump here) Superhumans.
