I'm just saying this because plate armour (especially full late medieval plate armour) is not really Viking/Migration Age. It really changes battlefield tactics, the types of weapons in use and requires a very different set of economic processes to bring about. Obviously not the GM, but stuff like this bothers me a lot when something is supposed to be a 'period' RP.

I'd hate for us to worry too much about small details like this and get bogged down in it, because that just sucks. I won't use it to strut around all OP if you are worried about that. GM knows this.

Perhaps after the battle, the childer can come out to steal the corpses and their loot and one or both sides has to deal with them then. Perhaps one of the warring parties tries to ally with or use a childer tribe as mercenaries to attack the other side at night? Just spitballing. Happy to do my own thing if you guys'd rather fight this out among yourselves. Great writing all around, btw.

@Flagg I can easily see how the Childer would want to team up with the Red fleet to get back at the Maod. Then maybe mutual mistrust and conflicting personal agendas could complicate that relationship at a later point :P

I know @Vilageidiotx is good for some bullshit, but to maintain some consistency on the manner I'd like to keep future use of plate armor to a minimum, or some different type of armor to be used.

He can hold onto it for the characters mentioned for one reason or another.

Isn't Celand like an old imperial remnant? Maybe the suits of plate are very rare heirlooms or something. Anyway, I'm thinking that since this game isn't about statistics (and thus not about arms-races or OP militaries), maybe the plate isn't that important. It doesn't really fit the setting, but to me it's ok as long as it's the exception that confirms the rule.
