[OOC] Heroes, Villains and Defects

This is the character I'll be using, and should hopefully serve as an adequate baseline.

Julia often wears hoods or large hats to hide her ears.
Physical Oddities: Pointed ears, red eyes.

Personality: Julia is a generally affable person, but a bit of a loner.
History: Julia was born on Earth, but her father was a visitor from another planet. She's always been different from others, both physically and emotionally, but with her parents' support and the few friends she managed to make in school, she managed to live a somewhat average life. Even when her powers began manifesting, her outlook stayed positive in spite of the insults constantly barraging her. As an outlet for her frustration, Julia took up Supervillainy. It started as a joke, but she turned out to be rather good at it, making a name for herself as Bad Omen. It wasn't until her college life that her unique gifts were greeted with interest and admiration, rather than disgust. This shift in her life made her decide to quit being an active villain, and take up a heroic mantle in its place. Still, she enjoys some of the benifits of Seattle brand Supervillainy.

Julia is capable of sustained movement above the speed of sound.
Ancillary:
Enhanced Endurance- Julia has increased physical durability, allowing her to withstand impact at supersonic speeds.
Enhanced Metabolism- Julia produces energy at a much faster rate than normal people. This also improves her rate of healing, but means she has to eat more food more often to maintain her energy levels.
Enhanced Reactions- Julia perceives the world much more slowly than normal people, especially when moving at high speeds.

As for magic, we're talking magic magic. Spells and enchantments and incantations that work because we says they does. The only limit to it is training and energy, which as I said before comes from living beings, so it'll be strongest in big cities or places with a lot of life.

Name: Jynmi Imsar

Appearance:
Physical Oddities: Jynmi's skin and hair gives of a light glow of white light. It can't be seen during the day but at night its all but impossible for him to be stealthy.

Personality: Jynmi is a nerd at heart. He's fond of the study of logic and tries his best to use it for all his decisions but fails a lot because his heart tends to lead him into dumb decisions. He also suffers compulsive whims which was how he managed to learn as much magic as he has in such a short time.
History: Jynmi's early life was rather dull, even been a homebody's standard, but that all changed the day he found himself in a strange little old book shop with a creepy old man who wouldn't let him look at anything but kept forcing into his hands a book. At first Jynmi thought it was a gift but when he tried walking out with it the man threatened to call the cops. Unsure of what else to do Jynmi bought the book. He didn't even realize it was in latin till he got home. AFter some reading and experimentation he learned of the book's nature. He attempted to go back to see what else the shop had but could never find it again.

Powerset: Magic
Primary: Alba Maleficus Mihi(The White Wizard's Tome)-A very old, thick book, written in latin with instructions on how to use various spells dealing with light. These spells are activated by the user's mind going through a set of visual rituals and incantations.
Ancillary:
*Sanctus Securis (Holy Ax)-Part of Jynmi's body glows with what appears to be electrical energy. This 'electricity' grants the user two benefits. First it acts as a sort of armor that's similar in strength to steel and second it grants extreme cutting power greater than that of even Obsidian. The greater the area of effect over his body the less time he's able to keep the spell active.
*Micante Arma (Glowing Shield)- Jynmi holds out his right hand and summons forth a half dome of light which he uses as a protective barrier against physical, energy and magical attacks. The size of the spell can be altered but the greater the area the less time he's able to hold it.
*Lux Pilum(Light Javelin)- Jynmi holds out his left hand palm flat, and fires out an arc of white light. This 'beam' has a maximum range of thirty meters and is capable of penetrating most materials with ease. It does this with a combination of temperatures rivaling that of super heated plasmas and a great deal of kinetic force.

Physical Oddities: Peg is possibly the plainest girl you'll ever meet.

Personality:
Peg hates "Peggy," "Marge" and "Maggie." She is always smiling with a knowing, sometimes smug expression that tends to make more enemies than friends. Her sour opinion of most fellow humans -- influenced by decades of accidentally offending everyone she meets -- has led her to prefer the company of nature and animals. She's not bitter. Maybe a little.

History:
Margaret Drummer was born in a dumpy Jersey suburb to middle-class parents who never loved each other. Her dad watched war documentaries. Her mom taught piano. Her brother hogged the X-Box. Everything was as boring as was humanly possible -- except for the minor detail of Margaret's gift.

Peg was eight years old when she discovered she was an amazing dog trainer. The family beagle was positively eager to follow all of Peg's commands to the letter -- so much so that her boring parents entered their poor dog into several pet talent shows, and Peg won several neighborhood awards. Her first business was a dog training gig -- about as official as a lemonade stand -- but that fizzled as soon as her customers realized their pets would obey Peg and only Peg. She had no idea how to show others how to train their dogs; after all, she just had to think her commands and they were obeyed.

In middle school, one of the popular girls had taken to barking whenever they passed in the hall. The other girls giggled. Peg walked her dog past that girl's house and casually commanded the family beagle to attack.

Everything went downhill from there.

After the lawsuits and medical bills -- after the beagle had been put down and the family had moved to a weedy Delaware suburb -- Peg spent most of her time at the park, experimenting with what she now knew for sure was an abnormal ability.

Within a month of their moving in, rumors started spreading that the park was haunted; squirrels would run in perfect circles, dogs would suddenly howl in unison, deer would tap morse code on the trees with their antlers. By the end of high school, Peg had discovered she wasn't entirely limited to animals: She once reached out to a child about to run into the street, and the kid looked up and stopped just as she did so. She reached out to a man screaming in rage at a retail clerk, and he stumbled over his words and made a fool of himself. Once she tried to coax a cute boy to like her. She stopped reaching out to people after that disaster, but her little brother always seemed to know what she was thinking.

At twenty-eight, Peg has finished a Bachelor's degree in biology, rents a dumpy apartment just outside Philadelphia and works as an administrative assistant for Motor Vehicles. On weekends she goes to the zoo, just to watch people's shock when the flamingoes arrange themselves in a crude word. Everything is about as boring and average as it can get.

Powerset: Genetic Mutation

Primary:
Thought Infusion -- Peg can instill her own thoughts into lesser minds within a ten meter radius. A dog, for example, might be easily convinced to behave in precisely the manner she envisions. This infusion is strengthened when she is touching the subject, and is weakened the farther away she is; at ten meters, her influence is weakened to nothing more than a faint inclination. The more intelligent or unwilling the subject, the less influence her own thoughts will have. A willing human may receive psychic communication from Peg, but Peg cannot read the thoughts of anyone or anything else. She can only influence one person or one animal at a time, but her influence tends to linger in lesser animals.

Ancillary:
Spidey Sense -- Peg just knows when a person or animal is nearby. She can feel out each individual mind within her ability's radius, and she can pick one out of a crowd to reach out to. Each separate presence has its own unique tingle in the back of her mind; she is undefeatable in hide-and-seek.

I've just noticed we seem to have a spicy-food war going on among our characters' likes and dislikes, haha.
