Sapphire defeated her opponent in one hit with a critical Power Gem.

It was time for the final matchup in the contest. Once it started, Liam had Greninja use Double Team. All of the copies began to dart around the stage, making it virtiouly impossible to tell where the real one was.

"Sapphire, Foresight!" The Sableye's crystal eyes glowed a pale blue and a forcefield was conjured, radiating outwards and dispelling the Jiraiya clones leaving the real Jiraiya.

"Night Slash!" Liam called. Jiriya dashed across the stage tossing the Night Slash around as if it was a baton before attempting to hit Crystal with it.

"Seismic Toss!" Sapphire caught Jiraiya's Night Slash and jumped high into the air, pulling the Greninja along by his own attack. The Sableye executed a single somersault and fell towards the stage with Jiraiya underneath.

Jiriya was hurt by the slam. At the last moment, Jiriya fired a Gunk Shot to try and poison Crystal.

Sapphire was not only hit by the point-blank attack, she was poisoned as well. "Sapphire, Zen Headbutt!" The Sableye charged in, head glowing with iridescence. Shiranui had been keeping mental track of Jiraiya's type changes.

Jiriya couldn't fire off another attack on time to change his type and was hit by the super effective move. "Night Slash!" Liam called.

"Make like a ninja and use Dazzling Gleam!" Sapphire stood her ground while Jiraiya charged in with a Night Slash at the ready. The Sableye caught Jiraiya's slashing arm, gave the Greninja an evil grin and let off a bright flash. The poison was starting to take its toll.

Sashia was watching the battle between them intently learning more and more about her opponents and friends come the grand festival, strategy's were forming in her mind but she was also stroking the head of a baby Amaura who seemed to be taking in this battle/Contest quite carefully. Sashia would have Elsa train her new pokemon, she had switched out her Wall for her Amaura who she had named Dino Freeze. Mike too was watching this battle holding onto a baby Tyrunt who he had called Predator, he had switched out his Shira.

Jiriya was hit again. He retailaited Water Shuriken. Jiriya made a running jump and tossed the water shrikes downward toward the Sableye, landing behind the Sableye with his back to it, like the hero of a show does with an explosion.

Sapphire was on her last leg. "Sapphire, you may fire when ready. Mega Ring activate!" The Sableye glowed with a bright scarlet light as she became a Mega Sableye. She held her Rupee-like crystal straight and pink laser beams started emitting from the crystal's vertices that faced Jiraiya, converging into a focal point as a Power Gem attack mimicking the laser ray of a moon-sized space station. A powerful laser beam came from the focal point aimed at Jiraiya.

"Just what I was waiting for, now use Theif!" Jiriya attempted to yank the giant stone our of Crystal's hands.

The audience was treated to the sight of a tug-of-war between Jiraiya and Sapphire with the latter's crystal firing the Power Gem straight up. Sapphire felt the poison and couldn't tolerate it anymore, reverting to her normal form before falling over. The crystal vanished when it happened.

a red x appeared on each of the judges' podiums. Liam was named the winner and presented with the Mint Ribbon. The next contest was said to be at Seafoam Islands. The crowd cheered as Liam and Jiriya hugged. Once the hall cleared out, Liam healed the Pokémon who participated and was ready to catch the ferry. The ferry would take them to the populated island in Seafoam. Outside of training, there would be no reason to go to the side without a human population.

Shiranui had his Pokémon healed and was ready to catch the ferry.

Liam retrived his Pokémon and made an adjustment to his team. Once that was done, he was all set to go.

Sashia met up with them and congratulated the both of them with some food she had made, while she had poke puffs for all there pokemon as she said "Well, Well I can see both of you being big threats during the grand festival, I'm hoping my little Dino Freeze will be able to watch more of your battles". Her Dino Freeze looked up at her as she bent down to her level and stroked her head again which got a very happy sound from the young pokemon.

Liam thanked her and gave some Poképuffs to only Jiriya, as Pidgeot was already sent back to Oak's Lab.

Shiranui also gave his thanks and fed some Poké Puffs to Renketsumoh and Sapphire.
