Age of Nations

January 1st, 1815. For the first time in so many years, there is peace. The Congress of Nations has begun and is set to establish order so that never again such a great Tyranny might befall the Continent. The Great Powers will arrange themselves as the Gendarmes of the Continent, forging alliances, treaties and pacts so that law might reign in anarchy, that law might subdue chaos. Still, nations ply their trade, the people rebuild, and the politically inclined look toward new fires. The seeds of nationalism burn brighter now than ever before.

New ideas have found their home in the corners of men's minds. Liberalism. The poison in the heart of Empire. You must strive to maintain Order. Ensure supremacy by expanding trade, maintaining peace within the realm, and conquering your enemies. The old ways yet remain. The Old Ways yet sustain.

This is purely an interest check.

Too Long; Didn't Read: Fictional world mirroring ours in a post-Napoleonic setting. Themes are Imperialism, Industrialization, Modernization and Nationalism. Questions, suggestions, comments? As you well know I run stat heavy RP's. This will be moderate on stats.

    @Theodorable

Do we need to put any emphasize on the population? Plus what is the economy bar and how does it factor?

And have we any need to fill out the army?

    xxx

If were not and create based on the Nation Application.

I have to ask what the Emphasis bar entail? What does it mean if I choose Navy and Size? What does it add?

You can put emphasis on the population if you wish to have a larger one. The economy is a static number from -1,000 to +1,000 which indicates how strong your nation's economy is.

The Emphasis you can pick add a random dice modifier. So if you select Navy, it will add +1d20 plus Ships of the Line to your Navy, for example.

Accepted! And no, you'll be randomly added to the map.

Do you have any aversions to being an Empire, because you have colonies--thus ruling over multiple peoples. You can remain a kingdom if you wish, just a question--as that was the historical standard.

What is the Imperial Tsardom anyway? Are we a part of that nation - how would that be possible?

Or is it just, one of the top dogs, of the world? Great Powers...

The Imperial Tsardom is multi-ethnic complex of politically linked territories in the center of the Continent. The office of Imperial Tsar is traditionally elective, although frequently controlled by dynasties. The prince-electors, the highest-ranking noblemen of the empire, usually elected one of their peers as "Tsar of the Empire," and he would later be crowned emperor by the aristocracy; the tradition of aristocratic coronations was discontinued in the 16th century. The empire never achieved the extent of political unification formed in countries like Gilbadia, evolving instead into a decentralized, limited elective monarchy composed of hundreds of sub-units, principalities, duchies, counties, Free Imperial Cities, and other domains. The power of the emperor was limited, and while the various princes, lords, bishops and cities of the empire were vassals who owed the emperor their allegiance, they also possessed an extent of privileges that gave them de facto independence within their territories.

Ahh, I remember. Weren't those more like duchies or princedom or merely city-kingdoms instead of actual empires inside an empire?

I'm not familiar enough with it to make that comparison. Nations within it have self-actualized autonomy but the Imperial Tsar can limit it at the risk of increased unrest. Currently only Vornehm, Boccia and Osladia are player nations in the Tsardom.

That depends, of course on the whims of the players.
