I wouldn't get too excited just yet, @Witch Cat. It's actually in the rules for the game (the official rules, not just this topic) that a person can't vote for themselves, @Luna_Maria. If you guys want me to add a link in the first post of this thread that leads to official information about the game, I will. Think about it this way; even if we did another set of votes it's still going to come down to either Witch Cat or @NekoMizu being voted out.

On a side note, I ended up responding to your status message about the friends list system, Witch Cat. Go check out my status messages from my user profile if you want what I said.

For the time being, I've just added some of the rules that have been brought up, putting them into the original post.

the murderer is very likely to be tsukune. why?

I purposely pretended to be the murderer so I could accomplish two things.

(1) see who would vote for me
(2) see if the real murderer would eliminate the person i said i would eliminate.

the reason I did (1) is because of this: I knew that anyone who voted FOR me would very likely NOT be the murderer. My reasoning is that if he/she WAS the murderer, why would he/she vote me out? why not vote someone else out and then leave the big red target (in other words, me, who is pretending to be the murder) alive so everyone could vote for the big red target next round? That eliminates Mae as a suspect for being the murderer, because she voted for me (in the first round).

The reason I did number (2) was because at that point I was very suspicious that tsukune was the murderer. I'll explain why i was so suspicious later, but first let me explain why I chose him as my intended kill target while I was the fake murderer.

(Obviously, by now, you've all realized that I'm not the murderer, as I was killed off by the murderer.)

Let's pretend the murderer is someone who is not me. Let's think in his shoes:

if i wanted lunamaria to continue being a suspect for being the murderer, why would I not do as she says when she says she'll kill off tsukune? After all, if it looks like she killed of tsukune, everyone else will definitely vote her off in round 2 and that's my (the real murderer's) ticket to round 3, so why not do as she says and kill off tsukune? UNLESS, of course, I can't... because I AM murderer (in otherwords, I, the real murderer, am tsukune)

Now, let's look at all the other evidence.

There are 5 people remaining. Mae, witch cat, duthguy, dinh aaronmk, and tsukune.

Mae is very very unlikely to be murderer because she voted for lunamaria in round 1. so according to the logic i said before, she's probably not it.
Witch cat said "I'll haunt you in your dreams if you vote for me" and would this be something the real murderer would say? no, she's working too hard
duthguy stated right after lunamaria voted him in round one that "I think the murderer wins in that case" right after lunamaria asked a question about what would happen if two people were left in the final round. Does that sound like something the real murderer would say? It sounds like something a non-murderer would say -- someone who is trying just as hard to find the murderer
Dinh Aaronmk could be the murderer, but probably not, because I messaged to him, "if you're the murderer, tell me, I'll help you win" and he said nothing. I don't know at this point whether he is or is not, but my guts says he is not.

Now, let's look at what tsukune has done so far:
1. He hasn't voted for me in round 1 or the bonus round.
2. When he voted in round one, he said this:

There are several suspicious things he did in this quotation.
1. he said "I've no idea what's going on atm"
first of all, how can you not know what's going on at the moment? Can't you read? Didn't you read the part where luna_maria said she's the murderer? So why aren't you voting for lunamaria? Why are you making it look like you didn't read what she wrote and instead voting for someone else who isn't trying to look like a big red target? Why are you being deceptive at all?
secondly, apparently you know enough about everything to say this: "it feels like we're all testing out the waters for now, I'll "even out" the votes and wait for the real round to get started... Where we can start playing the blaming game detective! ;)"

2. he said "I'll 'even out' the votes and wait for the real round to get started". First of all, how do you ALREADY know that voting for nekomizu won't win the game already since it's possible that she's the murderer or, for that matter, witch cat? Maybe because, you ARE the murderer.

These are very suspicious actions tsukune has taken.

There's some more evidence: tsukune (or the real murderer) has eliminated me off in round one, probably because he knew i would vote for him in round 2 and that i was working very hard to find the murderer. now, it's possible that dinh aaronmk knew i would start pointing fingers at tsukune the moment i got eliminated, in which cause, bravo, dinh is a genius, but do i really believe knew exactly what i would do? No. The obvious answer is that tsukune IS the murderer.

Sorry, for me, there's just too much evidence pointing to tsukune as the murderer. If I was still in the game, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

While this sort of psychoanalysis is exactly the sort of thing I wanted to see people doing (I did say this was a social experiment, plus I'm a chess player who understands a lot about psychology so it makes sense I'd levitate to this sort of game), and therefore I say good job to it, also encouraging other people to do so even before they make a vote (and would actually expect people to try and do in the role-playing version of this game), it's something that people should do before they actually get eliminated, not after.

I won't ask you to remove it all, since this is a thread in the spam forum and just a fun little game anyway, rather than a legit role-play, but try to refrain from "backseat chess playing", per se, from now on if you could. It's technically against the rules for "dead" participants to voice opinions. I'll make an exception because what you've posted gives a very good example of how people should be trying to play this game if they're not familiar with it.

Just make sure if you play again, you voice thoughts before your elimination and not afterwards, since, realistically, you wouldn't be able to explain your plan after you've been killed by someone.

This is, of course, unless it was a ghost story, which I actually considered as a variant to this role-play idea of mine I have in mind, but it would require that people not see who kills them. It would, however, allow everyone to keep role-playing after death though, so if any of you have thoughts on this feel free to give them to me. I'm essentially considering some paranormal elements to this murder mystery role-play (I have a few other paranormal elements in mind, but I'm not spoiling them).

I was in the middle of putting up my additional post, so I never saw you replying to me.

That could actually be a good way to do it too. They can try to help the other people, but they can't do it by directly communicating with them. Actually, I have a character in my project whose specialization is in ghosts (he can actually communicate with them), but without a power like that what you're suggesting is the more logical approach. There's a good psychological element to it too (one I also use in my project), since the deceased players need to struggle with the torment of not being able to talk to their allies directly and need to find other ways to help. I still might avoid letting them know who killed them though, to avoid the internal thought of the characters revealing it.

Still, no "backseat (or posthumous) chess playing" in this thread everyone, m'kay? That goes for people who aren't in the game at all too.

Are you referring to this game, or to the role-play idea I have in mind to GM? Or both? I mention that because this particular thread in the spam form will continue to use the same format we're playing with now, except it might get more than 7 people at one time. Either way, I'll hold you a place in the follow-up game like the other people who asked me.

I'm going to make a rule that people already in a game can't ask to be registered until they have been eliminated out, to avoid having the same people preventing others from having a go. It's also fair since those who are in the game longer should get less priority to play again. Since you've been eliminated, you're allowed to ask. I'll go and update the rules again now.
