I would be interested in joining as well... Though, I would need someone to examine my character and give me an idea at what tier she sits at. I designed her currently to rest at the lower end, though can make the necessary adjustments to her equipment and augmentations to bring her up to par with the setting. Just let me know:

Of course! I will be using challenge.com, Devil.

As for characters, I will review them in a few moments and edit this post when I am done.

EDIT: Doc your entry is fine. Glass, I especially worried about your character's pre-cognative Magical sight. This is is especially abusive. Since I would rule these abilities if used abusively would give you an extreme advantage. This advantage is especially devastating to different types of attack meta. Since you would be able to act to counter your opponent based on magical danger sense. I would prefer you re-construct this character. If you need any ideas or assistance please feel free to PM me.

@Nafear,

I appreciate the concern. Although I am new to this site, I am familiar (extensively so) with the concept of playing within the realm of reason and fairness. Please note that in the description of that particular ability, I detail that Aleigha is not capable of controlling the Tepryll Sight. Additionally, I did remark that it takes centuries for most Feigh'Druma to even be able to obtain occasional insight into what may come and use that insight accordingly, and Aleigha is only just over a century old. Nevertheless, I can understand where you are coming from - ultimately you would be taking a chance with any one individual entering your tournament to play fairly, regardless of the abilities or equipment their respective character may have. I have done enough judging between combatants to know that there are some fairly wild instances that sprout up seemingly out of thin air. Will the initial post reflect your decision to eliminate any form of precognitive ability, for future reference?

In any case, I appreciate you taking the time to look over my character. I have no intention of persuading you to adjust your opinion here - despite pointing out specific details that may help do just that. Aleigha is simply a character I spent more than a few hours on... And her aesthetic is what appeals to me more than anything, and I fear changing anything may impact that negatively. If you decide to stick to your guns, I do not fault you. I just do not have the time right now to build a new character. Though, if you do drum up enough interest, I would be happy to offer my time to assist you in judging!

Can I make a suggestion? I say that as though I'm asking, I know, feigned niceties and all, but I'm just gonna throw this out there. This is an alternate plane of existence. There is absolutely no time or fate here, not as most living things would understand the notions anyway, literally the strings that connect the ephemeral makeup of the metaphysical universe do not apply in the killing fields. There are trees with flesh and bone, and toothed bushes growing in this place, and a literal immovable stone, "floor," throughout the arena which, so far as I can tell, makes up the entirety of the, "base," of the realm which, lo and behold, has an impassible ceiling of the wailing souls of the lost and damned. Why I write this, and if it sounds befuddled I apologize, a strange work schedule and days off that I wouldn't normally have had have really stressed my regular sleep patterns, is because there is no reason to think that an inherent temporal lapse, let alone the passing at best ability to read and utilize it to time skip effectively in combat, would carry the same weight here as it would on a plane following the regular ebbs and flows of the river of time. Tepryll Sight can for legitimate plot reasons simply not work in a place like this, similar to how we have all clearly ignored the fact that any planeswalker, such as say Aleigha equipped with her temporal capacitor, or as far as I can tell the majority of the arena characters on this site who have repeatedly shown that they have no qualms with simply wandering through the multiverse, could literally just leave and return to their own little home planes in any place following the, "normal," laws of the metaphysical universe. I mean, @Doc Doctor and myself once had a fight between his Runescape character, and my not Runescape inspired Gnomish robot Billuh Bob Gnome in a pro wrestling ring in the modern day Florida Everglades with half of the cast of the WWE in attendance without any justification for our characters having been in that reality whatsoever. Not to mention, having lurked on this sub forum for about a year now, I know that if you want to have an actually functional bracket someone with @Glass's talents cannot be turned away, I mean, anyone who uses the terms, 'Fae,' and, 'magick,' correctly is clearly a pro. On the other hand, @Nafear, if I get to play Old Man Willakers you can do what you will with the jimmies. Oh, I guess this means I'm competing. Expect a character within the next twenty four hours or so.

@Nafear

This is a tough one for me. The character that first sprouts into my mind to use is an earlier version of my superhuman samurai, Claine. However, I used him multiple rounds in a tournament hosted on another site so I'm a bit uninspired to use him atm. With that in mind I may create a new character from scratch. If I can come up with one I’m satisfied with by the deadline I’d be down to join but if not I would be more than glad to lend a hand as a judge. I can discuss my judging philosophy to you in private to try to develop an official method for the tournament if you like.

Also in regards to power levels are we talking Jedi level abilities or are things like Elemental manipulation allowed? Despite often taking more of a SciFi approach to my characters had the idea for something that I think would be more appealing to an outside crowd and the path I chose is a mythological creature/human hybrid. I quickly conjured up the concept for a Dullahan who is adept in Agnikinesis. Essentially his ability to manipulate flames is only limited to his imagination when molding the element but I fear he may be too strong. It’s kind of a slippery slope when attempting to scale for this tournament in particular in terms of power.

If I may give my input, I'd say that the temporal sight seems very reasonable. It states that she can't really control when it occurs, so perhaps @Nafear could roll a six-sided die every time an opponent attacks @Glass, and if it lands on the number she picked she can get a glimpse of the future.

Yikes Dice. I've always felt that is a little too luck based. It's either the ability can be used or not. I feel like if an ability is used unfairly to essentially metagame (Which I don't believe she intends to use it for) it should just simply be weighed against the person in the judgment process. No harm done.

Fights don't tend to last that long. She'd maybe get to use it once if she is lucky. If that isn't your intent, I'd suggest a 4-sided die.

@Doc Doctor, I definitely would not mind going in that direction in @Nafear felt better about doing something along those lines. Additionally, @Liliya is correct about where this entire tournament is taking place. There is no reason that the ability could just not function - it really would have zero impact on Aleigha's overall performance, considering that she does not rely on the ability as something to give her any sort of reliable advantage in combat.

I was even talking to my wife last night... Because there is no control, Aleigha could feel overwhelming heat in one situation (or fight), but nothing with fire actually spring up until the next. The "skip" in time is rarely a set number of minutes or seconds... Could be hours, sometimes even days. It really is mostly for aesthetics and the occasional plot point during a fight... If anything.

In any case... Can't detect sarcasm from @Liliya or not... For much the same reasons of my sleep schedule being all kinds of flubbed up. Though the overall support is very appreciated!

Or how about remove it altogether. Her character can't control when it happens but the author does, and it is always used to sense a fiegn danger when someone is out of position. It's just meta-game.

No, no sarcasm intended. I basically learned how to write from a roleplayer who was from a WoD Masquerade background who used, "Fae," rather than fairy and, "magick," rather than magic, and now do the same myself. I now have a headcannon that you're the same person, so yeah, if I start talking like I know you write it off as me being forgetful of what decade this is.

@Nafear I am seriously torn between writing my DvZ OC (which is something I've wanted to roleplay, like, for years) a cs because of your jimmies comment, or actually putting out something that can compete with the current two characters, both of whom would clearly smash a dwarf with a shortbow. Decisions, decisions... ^_^;

You don't remove things altogether from characters if you can help it. That's a part of her identity, of who she is as Feigh'Druma. You wouldn't take Lara Croft's ability to shoot, but if the story or fight scene required her to be unable to shoot for impact or storyline reasons you can always ensure that she lost the guns somewhere along the way before the melee started off. In that way nothing about her was changed, and the story can move forward true to her as a character and with the ability to, well, have a melee like all proper action films seem to require. Easier, and more true to her character to say that because this is clearly not following the same general metaphysical notions generally observed in most places in the multiverse, time is simply not flowing the same here as it normally would elsewhere, remove the ability that way, and move forward with the combat in a fashion in keeping with who Aleigha is as a Fae.

@Devil, while I appreciate the suggestion, I have no intention of removing anything I have taken the time to craft on Aleigha. As I pointed out in my reply back to @Nafear, I enjoy the aesthetic of this character, and the power in question applies to that aesthetic just as much as anything else on the character sheet. I have no qualms with you, or anyone else for that matter being concerned about this being an abusive or "meta-game" power. You are by all rights within you right to feel that way. I have seen those instances myself... Even fallen victim to them. Regardless, I am always of the opinion to trust first that whoever I am pitted against will act within the realm of fairness and reason with any one piece of equipment or any one particular ability their character possesses. Do I expect others to be of this same mindset...? Hardly, as we all have our own experience with this sort of situation.

@Liliya, WoD... That is something I have not heard in a really, really long time. The support, again, is appreciated! And well, if you do talk to me like we are old friends, I will likely just respond in kind... Probably won't even notice!

@Glass I haven't played in years, either. In the spirit of the game, I know what I'm doing for a character, though. I'll dedicate it to an old friendship and a new one with someone who is probably not the same person.
