Name: Sahren Valaria
Age: 21
Race: Human
Appearance:
Equipment: A bow, which she is actually skilled with. Her quiver of arrows, and two curved blades (about the size of a short sword), and a small knife she keeps in her right boot.
Special Abilities: No magic to speak of. She is ambidextrous, which is convenient, though not entirely special. Her brothers taught her the art of gambling... and counting cards. She is small and nimble, so she is quick and a great climber, which she relies on in place of strength. Due to her fears that her father is being slowly poisoned, she has become quite proficient in poisons and antidotes.
Background: Sahren is the only daughter, now only child, of Lord Grayson Valaria. Her two eldest brothers met their ends in “unfortunate accidents”, one while on a ship, one while on a hunt. Over recent weeks, her father has become increasingly sick. It started very mildly, with intermittent fever, and has now progressed to the point where if he even wakes up, he rarely remembers who Sahren is.
Sahren's uncle, her father's brother Viktor, has taken up the tempory position of lord in her father's stead. Sahren and Viktor have a strained relationship at best, and she has suspected for quite some time that her uncle has been planning to take her father's title and land. She believes he is responsible for the death of both of her brothers, who were widely respected throughout not only the family's lands, but those surrounding and all the lands they had business with. She also believes that Viktor has been slowly poisoning her father, and while she has no proof, she has been spending time with less than respectable characters learning of poisons and their cures. So far, she has had no success in curing her father.
The final straw for Sahren came when she overheard her uncle speak of how if the Orc's breached the Northwatch, he would ally with them in hopes of keeping the land and title. So blinded by his greed, he didn't see the many flaws in that plan... or simply didn't care, so long as he came out on top.
With this information, Sahren made the difficult decision to journey to Northwatch. She didn't know what would come of the journey, she only knew that she couldn't sit back and let her land suffer. So she kissed her father goodbye, saddled her horse, and rode hard towards the mountains.
