@Lord of Evil I like that one. Suits the game very well. I would like to stress the part about chi that says that everyone (almost) can use techniques from all chi natures. You're not restricted to earth just because your character has earth chi. If there is anything you'd like to change with this in mind, go ahead. Otherwise I'm approving it and you can move him to the char-tab.
He's kind of stubborn so one kind of technique is enough for him.
Name: Mamoru Kinzoku Nickname: “Steel Guardian” Gender: Male Age and season of birth: 25, Autumn Age Appearance: 25 Sexuality: Heterosexual Clan: Renegade Rank: Intermediate Chi Nature: Metal
Length and build: 182 cm, muscular Weight: 165 lbs
Appearance:
Personal motto: Strike while the iron is hot. Moral code: Kill only those in your way. No collateral damage. Quote: “I need no Kami or spirits. I have Hogosha on my journeys." Favorite weather and season: Sunny Summers. Family: Mother and Father, Brother. History: Born to a lineage of Metal-Clan blacksmiths, Mamoru was taught how to craft metal as soon as he was able to lift a hammer. Alongside his father, Mamoru trained in two paths. His father’s anvil and the way of the sword, taught by his village dojo sensei. Mamoru excelled in martial arts and combat, and self-taught his talent for stealth. It wasn’t long before he became a ninja. His parents were proud, but Mamoru never forgot his roots, and any breaks he had he spent at the forge. When he was eighteen, his father decided it was time to teach him a special technique, handed down from generation to generation of the Kinzoku family. It was how to command the family golem, “Hogosha.”
Hogosha was a large, intimidating suit of Samurai armour that seemed empty, it’s only face being the mask accompanied with the armour. It took Mamoru two months to learn how to properly command the golem. Hogosha responded well to Mamoru, far more than his father expected. Hogosha had his own conscious but follows its master’s command. Mamoru even taught the suit how to fight, teaching it the martial arts he had learnt from his training in the dojo. However, Mamoru took it a step too far… One night, he decided to sneak into a metal-clan monastery, holding some parchments that may hold information. He got in with ease, slipping by the inattentive monks and guards and found the unguarded scriptures. Pouring over them, he came across a scroll dubbed “Golem strengthening.” It was a ritual, that apparently strengthened the bond between master and golem. Stuffing the parchment into his sack, the young ninja took off into the night.
The next night, Mamoru took Hogosha out to the fields, unseen by anyone. The suit clanked behind him as they made it to a clear area. Mamoru performed the technique, step by step by the parchment. However, it was never mentioned the cost. In a brilliant flash of blinding light, Mamoru covered his eyes as the light cleared. Hogosha looked new, improved. Way better than his old armour. However, Mamoru tried to perform a simple fire move, creating a small light in his hand. However, nothing was conjured. The boy tried and tried, and yet… nothing. Mamoru could no longer use chi techniques. They couldn’t see anything. However, a light was procured. Hogosha created a tiny flame. It was in fact a power transfer technique. Mamoru had transferred his ability to use Chi techniques into Hogosha. He had to get back to the village undetected. Mamoru scaled the wall with ease, however, Hogosha used to no longer be able to follow. The golem practically mimicked it’s master’s movements. They got back in, however his father awaited at the door of their house. His dad spied the parchment and swiped it away, reading it. Furious that his son used a forbidden technique, he disgraced his son there and then and exiled Mamoru from the clan, taking Hogosha with him. That was how he became a Renegade.
Weapons/Items
Weapon and Items:
Ronin Yaiba
The Ronin Yaiba has nothing inherently special about it. However, it was one of the best katanas Mamoru ever forged before being exiled from his home. Kept in a jet black Saya across his back, Mamoru wields the sword with ease, and uses it with precise, deadly and efficient strikes.
Grappling hook
A sturdy hook attached to rope used to throw onto ledges and roofs.
Tanto throwing knives
Some ninjas use Shurikens, while others use Tantos. These are small throwable blades that can be concealed easily. Mamoru holds 6.
Skills/Abilities - Blacksmith= With the right tools, environment and time, Mamoru can forge a number of different items. Some will take more time than others. Swords will take longer than shurikens.
- Martial Artist= After training from a young age at his village dojo, he quickly ascended through the belts, and after being exiled, he had a permanent sparring partner to even further hone his skills, and Hogosha's too. He's just as effective without Ronin Yaiba as he is with it.
- Accuracy= After being on the road for so long, he had plenty of time to perfect the technique of throwing blades.
Special Traits
- True Metal Bond= The bond Mamoru now shares with Hogosha is unbreakable and is now at a new peak. Hogosha can completely mimic Mamoru's movements and can react quicker. He can also learn much more efficiently. If trained by the right mentor, Hogosha can learn new chi techniques. However, it currently only knows very basic chi techniques.
Signature moves:
Name of Move: Bunraku Ugoke Type: Support Range: Extreme Chi Type: Metal Preparation: Mamoru requires complete silence and concentration and must remain uninterrupted in a meditated state. Description: For a moment of time, Mamoru can change his perception of Hogosha, and acquires total control. This technically allows him to be in two places at once as their conscious becomes one. Mamoru gains all the strength and agility Hogosha has and has complete and utter control, allowing him to use Hogosha's body as efficiently as possible, and while Hogosha is dangerous, he has to be instructed, unlike a human. He can also regain the chi techniques Hogosha can perform. This gives a massive boost. It is the strength and body of Hogosha combined with the intelligence and mind of Mamoru, a very deadly, very powerful combination. Weakness: This technique drains a lot of chi, even more so when performing other techniques as Hogosha. He has to be careful, otherwise both Hogosha and Mamoru will collapse on the spot, leaving both of them vulnerable and Hogosha in danger depending on the situation.
Companion
Name: Hogosha Appearance: Age and maturity: 300 years old. Size: Large, 7' high Unique Traits: Completely empty armour held together by chi bond between it and Mamoru Moves: Fireball, Earthwall, Water whip, Polarity, Windslash kick. History together: Hogosha was the Kinzoku family statue for hundreds of years, able to perform menial tasks by his master, such as cleaning the house, patrolling it overnight and being a good companion. However, when Mamoru's father transferred his status of "Golem Master" to his son, Hogosha instantly bonded with him. They did many daily activities together and Hogosha developed a personality, a consciousness. He could look happy, curious, serious and even sad, even though it's mask never moved. It was a stone face forever. Hogosha had no idea the transformation both it and it's master would take. It gained new power. It was incredible, however it's master lost his ability to manifest Chi. Hogosha's bond with Mamoru has only strengthened over the years and will always remain loyal to Mamoru, both as a protector of the Kinzoku family and the silent companion to Mamoru as battle brothers.
Name: Izumi Taka Nickname: Sea Hawk Gender: Female Age and season of birth: 17, autumn Age Appearance: 17 Sexuality: Heterosexual Clan: Renegade Rank: Student Chi Nature: Water
Length and build: 163cm, slim build Weight: 56kg
Appearance:
Personal motto: The tide always returns to the shore. Moral code: a neutral good, she tries her best to help her comrades. Always trying to get better and ensure that no one has to die if they don't deserve it! Quote: "Just give me some time to figure this out!" Favorite weather and season: Cloudy, windy, early autumn Family: Parents deceased History: Born and raised in the city of Nishiko, Izumi's youth was often spent with sea-faring folk, living along the west coast of the Kingdom of Falling Cherry Blossoms. Izumi felt at harmony with the waves, the gentle tides pulling in the sand beneath her feet, a salty ocean breeze always on the air. She only knew a life of ease and harmony, despite the world that kept churning outside of her sea-side home.
Her father, an avid traditionalist, trained Izumi the old ways of the Water clan, and her education was primarily spent studying the old scrolls and papers that her family had preserved for so long. She had very little free-time, and often stayed awake throughout the night until the next sun rose. Though it was a taxing and exhausting training regime, Izumi pushed through, and aspired to be as great as legendary Water ninjas of old. By the time she had reached her teenage years, she had finally been able to thoroughly understand the way chi moved rhythmically through the body, as well as in nature, and could apply that to the world around her.
Yet only a short time after her sixteenth birthday, Izumi's life changed. For over 20 years, her father had kept their ninja roots a secret to the people they lived along-side, Izumi not knowing that he had been on the run from several notable samurai. But somehow, someone had found them out, and in the middle of the night, they were attacked.
Izumi didn't remember how the fighting started. She had been up studying late, as usual, when she heard a commotion from downstairs. She looked down the staircase towards the front door, and saw her own father, a peaceful man, fighting for his life against neighbors Izumi had known since childhood. Incredibly enough, this very man would make only a few quick motions with his hands as his opposer was charging, and in a blur, the attacker would be writhing on the ground, and her father would be standing upright against a growing crowd of enemies.
Eventually, the fighting had begun to move outside, and Izumi continued to watch from the shadows in awe as her father bested every man that approached him. But this incredible feat wouldn't last long - eventually a blow struck the man, and blood from his mouth spread across the pavement. Izumi gasped loudly, and called out to him, only to his dismay - this distraction turned her father's gaze from the fight towards her, and he was struck again. Quickly recognizing her mistake, Izumi jumped from the shadows, striking the same man who had struck her father.
"Izumi, leave this place!" her father called out to her, taking the opportunity to reset his footing. The growing crowd hurled insults at the two defenders, calling them monsters for their inherited talents. Izumi refused to leave her father's side, and the battle continued onward, until neither of them could take much more.
Her father thrust something into her arms - a pack, it seemed like, and he told her to take the contents and run away. She didn't understand what was going on, until the light of torches poured out from a main street corner. On horseback, several great men in samurai armor rode forward into the crowd, trampling any who didn't get out of the way. Izumi's father shouted go, but she couldn't budge. The sight was terrifying, like the stories used to scare a child come to life. She felt a cold hand placed on her back, and an utterance, and a great chill go down her spine. In that moment, Izumi's vision faded to black.
When she awoke, she was high up in the trees of a dense forest, her body bruised and aching. The sensation of what had happened hit her sharply, and the realization of her father mind-controlling her to get her to safety stunned her. Without thinking, she wipped the pack off of her back and looked inside - black cloth, several scrolls and a sheathed blade were all of the contents her father had given her. Izumi grasped at the scrolls, wanting to find some kind of message - and she got one. A scroll, freshly written by her father, told of how he knew the samurai were coming to kill them. It told her of her heritage with the blade, the cloth - which was actually a Water Clan ninja outfit - and the scrolls, each one detailing incredible combat arts. She knew she had no home to go back to. It took her over a year of wandering before, at last, she had discovered a renegade group of ninjas to group with.
Weapons/Items
Name of Item: Water Clan ninja garb Description: After some time Appearance: Typical ninja mission outfit, black in color with blue wave outlines along the left sleeve. Surprisingly well kept, almost mint condition, despite age and consistent use. Perhaps some kind of ancient seal?
Name of Weapon: Talon Description: A family heirloom, this small wakizashi is often worn below the back and serves as a reliable melee weapon. Izumi retrieved the blade before fleeing her home, and has kept it close to her wherever she goes. Appearance: Stylized as a traditional wakizashi, with the blade curving to a point and the entire weapon an ebony color. About 40cm in total length, with a worn leather hilt and short blue tassels from the pommel.
Name of Item: Sealed leater pauldrons Description: At the bottom of the bag her father gave her, Izumi was also given leather pauldrons with an ancient seal on them, apparently making them extremely resistant to fire and other damages. Appearance: See character image.
Skills/Abilities
Strategist: Izumi is capable of observing enemy information and location, quickly analyze her team's situation, and apply tactical decisions in an efficient amount of time
Dagger proficiency: Having spent the last year wandering, along with prior training with her father, Izumi has practiced and honed her ability to use Talon effectively, and can make detailed, precise cuts with the blade, and knows where the blade will work best
Special Traits
Black-Fountain connection - Kuro and Izumi have a great bond, easily being able to sync their chi with each other. This could even strengthen in the future to allow Izumi to see what Kuro sees while in the sky
Signature moves:
Name: Wave-Meld Type: Offensive/Movement Range: Short-Mid Chi Type: Water Preparation: Approx. 7-15 seconds of concentration from Izumi, depending on targets distance Description: If Izumi is stationary and concentrates on an enemy, she can reach out with her chi and fuse with their chi, gaining control over their chi movement. By doing this, she can gain control over the opponent's movement, though she must move at the same time. once this connection is established, she also pools the opponents chi with her own, meaning the move lasts for the duration of both character's chi. If given time and training, she could enhance this move to make it easier to connect with the opponent and make the opponent move independantly of her own motions. Weakness: Can be broken if target is more than 50m away, chi is also used at a high rate, and the rate grows when distance is given between Izumi and opponent.
Name: Ocean's Harmony Type: Support Range: Short Chi Type: Water Preparation: About 5 seconds of silent concentration, must maintain absolute focus after connection is established Description: Izumi can reach out to an ally and, if connection is met between the two, Izumi can transfer her own chi to the ally and revitalize them. Extremely useful in a group mission and if she has used very little energy herself. If she trains enough, Izumi will be able to increase her range, up to long range (about 150m total), and lessen the damage done to her if concentration is broken during the use of the move. Weakness: If focus is broken by Izumi without her being able to ease out of the connection, she can be hurt by the break of concentration - even physically. Also, there's always the possibility that if she isn't careful, she can use up all of her own chi and could die from it.
Companion
Name:Kuro Species: Japanese Night Heron Age and maturity: 2, young adult, male Size: 48cm height, 46cm wingspan
Unique Traits: Swift flyer, wears artificial metal talons attached to feet, crafted by a smith of the Metal clan who is now a renegade.
Moves: Feather's Shadow: Kuro dives from the sky, attacking his prey with the sharp talons on its feet. *LOCKED*Heron's Watch: In the future, if given time and proper training, Izumi will be able to see out of the eyes of Kuro while he is in flight. The weakness is that Izumi's chi will be expended throughout the duration of this move and her body is completely vulnerable.
History together: Shortly after Izumi began wandering the dense forests, she stumbled upon a clearing where she found a young, grey-feathered night heron, wounded along its chest. Izumi aided the small bird, and did her best to nurse it back to health. The fledgling formed a bond with Izumi, and after a short time, became her close companion, Izumi naming the bird Kuro, for his pitch-black wings. Izumi had conveniently found one of the scrolls she had in her bag to contain teachings to form chi-bonds with an animal, and be able to sync their minds together. Though she is still new to the study, Izumi and Kuro quickly became dependent of each other, and are now almost inseperable.
I can understand if @Halvtand is a bit caught up in holiday stuff atm. I can definitely say I kinda am - I'll stick around and wait for another week :P
Also, all done with the CS. Check up on that when you can!
For an early Christmas present I got a USB that connects me to the internet wherever I am, you know what I'm talking about. Thing is I only have a phone and my relative thought I could stick that USB in my phone through some cable adapter shit. Useless. By that logic I could just buy a internet package.
The funny part, is even if I had my laptoo, I'm not going anywhere until summer so I don't need that, I only use my home internet. So for Christmas I got a USB that only works for a PC, (which I don't own) which is only useful in summer.
Hey guys. I'm sorry for being absent these least few days. I've been working on a big essay (due today) and found out that I had made a mistake which meant going back to check all my sources... Takes a while and I just haven't had thevenergy to read more stuff. Right now I'm on my phone, on my way to a pre-Christmas celebration. I probably won't be able to provide feedback on characters now since writing on my phone is horrendous, but I will read them, which makes giving feedback once I get to a computer a lot easier. Cheers.

I feel you man. Sort of. My relatives always buy me clothes but I never care about how I look. At least I've got a lot of shirts to wear :P
