'SUP! I'm Dread. I' been doin' this kinda stuff for a long minute. I started forum RP a little over 12 years ago back on MSN groups (RIP, pour one out) Since then I've done pretty much every kind and type of RP anime, normal life, battle arena, normal fantasy, a dabble of nation, lots of table top in my fer-real life, and even a stint on a pretty much smut only site( That was weird time but the over all posting quality on the site was really high so it helped me move from most cas to advanced) I love pretty much every kind of topic or genre as long as it's got a good hook, mayng. Normally I like to roll in the mid to high advanced style but I ain't snobbish, if it's good I'll do anything. Been on hiatus fer like a whole year or more but I needs a fix now. Now I got my left arm belted up, crook is slapped, veins poppin' ready for a main line of good RP.

Outside of RP I'm pretty much a political animal. I work in the Green Party. I love chatting about policy and am capable of keeping a normally taboo topic on ice. You gotta keep yo head right mayng? I'm also a history junkie. Love it all. New stuff and info hits me like the junkie shuffle. I also do some boffer LARP (Belegarth if you're interested).

That about covers it. So wassup wassup, let's make it weird and do some stuff we won't tell our friends about.

@medalliah MSN groups were the dark ages, not the stone age. The stone age is pre-board games. But really, if you think about it, the stone age was the stone age of RPing, too, and it advanced with everything else. I mean, storytelling is a thing that's been around for a long time. Even cooperatively.

I find people prefer the second kind to the first kind. Whilst doing actual monsters-who-are-girls can be really fun and cool, turns out litterally nobody else does it. Even straight demons and shit people are reluctant to do, because nowadays demon means 'black angel,' and 'angel' means 'rediculously handsome prettyboy who just loves to kidnap humans."

@Lady Selune Monster girls are a blast! A while ago I did a one on one where my partner played a literal dragon that was a lady-dragon. It was a super blast. Real different.

@Ermine I do quite a few table top systems. I started with D&D like most people but I've gone more toward WoD, Shadowrun, and some other less known stuff like Legend of the Five Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying.

Do you play any of the games based on Apocalypse World? Like Monsterhearts or Masks?

@Ermine Oh my, I feel like a neophyte :P . No, I haven't heard of any o this. Though all of it has been added to my list of awesome stuff to look into. I gotsta go back to table top school. Haha!

Masks is newer, that can be forgiven. But it's basically Teen Titans: The Tabletop RPG.
Monsterhearts is...niche. Sure, it's not RARE, but it's definitely not for everyone. (Not even really for me, half the time). High school drama as monsters (which is actually meant to express how outsiders feel in high school, specifically the LGBTQ+ community, amusingly something you can ALSO be...nothing wrong with a gay werewolf or two).

Interesting. The high school element to Monsterhearts sounds a little out of my normal type but gay werewolves are pretty much always in vogue. Teen Titans is just hella cool though, original at least, not a huge fan of the new version but hey that's cuz I'm a fogey. I played some Silver Age Sentinels, Masks like that, eh?

@Big Dread Pretty much. Very rules-lite, like any other Apocalypse World hack.
Monsterhearts doesn't HAVE to be high school. It's DESIGNED for it, but any game's rules can work with any ruleset if you try hard enough. Even L5R could be a far-future business simulator if you work at it.

Oh yeah, systems are made to be broken and reforged. My buds and I are actually working right now to full convert L5R over into a Star Wars RPG. I know they have other Star Wars systems but frack that! I like L5R's system I just want it to OBEY me.

@Big Dread I did Shadowrun using Pathfinder with someone, then turned it into a RWBY one. That was easy. Meanwhile, it's hard to find enough people to play Houses of the Blooded, much less a modified version of it.

@ErmineWHAT!? But it has politics AND blood magic! That's like, the ultimate combo! Set it in the early Imperial Age and I would literally smash my head through a granite counter in excitement! How could you not find people to play that? That's madness.

I'm still kinda pissed at the creator, though. Sure, awesome game, but the newest book for it was incomplete, AND was...kind of insulting anyone who wanted to play an ork (literally everything that's not the main race (Ven) is an ork), plus the rules for that aren't explained well, contradict each other, and are missing content. So...that's a thing.
Rest of the rules for the game are awesome still. But I wanna play a baby dragon~ (Actually, I did play around to make it work for Mass Effect. Not hard, either, surprisingly. Had to homerule the ork character rules to make it work, though).
