Charles would go to say "Being able to see any hidden spirits wo-" he would be interrupted as the wall exploded causing him to cough from the dust. He would covered his eyes when he seen the stuff coming towards him. Someone would of shouted about freezing and remaining still, causing Charles to be confused. He would feel something impact him and his eyes would wide, "Crap baskets" he would get out before collapsing onto the ground.

@manofthenorth

The explosion was indeed startling. What was even worse came just a few moments later as some sort of dart whistled through the dust. It was a fleeting instant that lingered forever to Desmond as reality around him seemed to slow down to a crawl while he stared at the ever so slowly moving object. Time had not slowed down for everyone, if anything he had sped up greatly, but the instant this strange little dart came close to him it was all he could do not to scream from surprise. A mere knife or bullet would pass fairly easily through his insubstantial body, lacking any real solidity to begin with, but every inch of his body screamed in horror at the realization of why he feared it.

If Desmond acted like a giant magnet attracting magic to him, these men he now realized, carried the opposite. Something capable of repelling magic entirely. That simple thought coupled with his predicament of being comprised entirely of magic was not a pleasant one to fathom.
For now it was time to leave. Quickly.
But these men blocked the way, no doubt they would overpower this group and destroy Desmond if they got the chance. Fight or flight instincts were at full throttle in his mind. Escaping would only save himself and even then for how long?
It was time to see what he could really do.

The words to spells had never come ti his mind, not like the others, but he had experienced his own capabilities the day he had become something else entirely. His form was weapon and vessel both mashed together in an unstable glob of human resemblance. One such instance had forced a speck of this power out and became.. disastrous. Without the regulation of his subconscious, the roiling sea of essence within was almost like a bomb. If they could repel magic, Desmond wanted to know how much it could repel and how much he could muster.
His clothing fell away from him as he readied his attack, the stars in the night sky shone from seemingly every inch of his 'skin' as it churned in waves. The cosmos itself seemed to be standing amidst the magi gathered here. A harsh purple intensity shone from where his eyes would be on a normal person, but more shining motes dotted his appearance as the once pristine surface grew increasingly agitated.

Controlling the explosion would be simple. Desmond had performed this on a smaller scale a few times since, near as he could tell, ascending to a higher plane of existence.
Thrusting his arms forward, the collected energy ignited the moment it left his 'body'. The size of a mans torso, this chunk of essence roared to life. A flowing river of stars bursting amidst the black backdrop of the nights sky, directed in a cone away from the group towards the assailants, a majority was aimed at the ground beneath them. The inferno of purple would eat through anything it touched with ease. A fingers worth of his essence had nearly turned a car to scrap. If he was lucky, even if these people could shrug off the intensity, the ground and surroundings would not be so kind.
Thought it had only been a few seconds, Desmond felt the effects keenly. A fingers worth had been nothing. This amount nearly shattered him. The bulky outline of a human was shriveling into a thin reed, a shadow of his former power.

"Run!" His call echoed in the room.

Kasumi

Kasumi watched and listened. Not everyone revealed their powers and abilities but some did. Although the next thing she knew, the wall blew up and people were coming in quick. Then something was fired at her. Two words, fuck. This. Time stopped completely. Everyone froze. In this state, she couldn't kill anyone but she could get in position to kill or in this case, escape. It only lasted a few seconds so she didn't have long. She immediately teleported as far as she could see, which was to the door however, she only made it half there. Crap, which meant something was suppressing her magic which meant the time pause was about to end. She quickly went in visible and then looked past a little ways past to where she was standing to create a clone of her wearing everything she was wearing now. Then time resumed and Kasumi teleport again to the rest of the way to the door. Her clone had gone invisible and stayed hidden. Of course the clone had almost all of her magic except stopping time and creating more clones as well as the probability magic.

Kasumi opened the door quickly and teleported out, she kept teleporting until she was far enough to be safe but close enough so the building was still in sight which meant her clone wasn't gone yet. She closed her eyes and focused on her clone. It was fading fast. Had it been hit? She had no idea. She made it go to Gavin and whisper in his ear.

"I can still see the building but it is too dangerous here. Get everyone to run. We can meet up later, somehow. You likely won't see me unless you really look, but you got in contact with me once you can do it again. I'll see you around."

Then the clone turned to face the men who attacked and shouted out loudly before disappearing.

"Everyone run! We're not ready for this! We will be back though. Nobody ever catches me. Nobody."

Her clone then disappeared and Kasumi sighed. She was tired but she couldn't rest now. She moved further away knowing with her tiredness she could get caught if she was unprepared.

Master Grey

Master Grey watched as chaos broke out. One of the attacks tried to shoot him and he quickly created a bubble of water from the water in the air. Although it was weaker than usual and popped straight away. He looked to Kasumi who began to shout and then she disappeared. A clone, she was already gone but for how long? When? Immediately he shouted to everyone.

"If you want to live, come to me!"

Immediately, he began to take and control all the water in the air around him, as well as water in taps and pipes. He then and created a much stronger bubble. He had the bubble wrap around him and Gavin and for every person that came close he'd extend it to protect them too. It wouldn't last forever but it would help in the meantime.

Marcus Nickleson

He felt his trousers buzz whilst being lost in a particular individual's appearance, before realising it was his phone. It was buzzing due to the familiar indication that a new message was sent. Sliding the phone's activation through a series of pin-codes, the smartphone was soon on and ready to read some casual phone-company's message telling him of some new deal. Instead, he was faced with something completely different. It was a number without a name, but with a clear indication of who it was sent by...

'Good job, Marcus; we're coming early to capture and contain these freaks.' His eyes widened. This was not part of the deal, or was it? He wasn't even sure what the full objective of this mission was, yet he was still committing towards its goals. He looked around, a drip of sweat beginning to form on his brow. This wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to learn more...He wasn't sure if it was him wanting to protect these lot, or if it was to be more useful for the government. Either way...This wasn't something that was going to be let off easily.

Marcus furiously, and in panic, slammed words down into the messenger. It was exclaiming to hold the teams, to hold everything and allow him to have more time in learning what could and could not be discovered. Ruining it now would clearly hinder his performance. He was half-way through typing the last sentence when suddenly...An explosion shattered the wall. Marcus stumbled backwards, away from the blast as splinters of wood flew into his thigh like shrapnel from a grenade. It wasn't lethal, just irritating and painful. He stumbled out the door, away from the madness as one body dropped downwards. Shock-Rounds...They were designed to stun and allow them to collect. This was indefinitely not what he wanted or planned. He heard shouts from within as he entered, calling in panic and confusion.

"Stay inside the mist! It'll protect us from the Snipers!" Marcus had never reacted faster to anything in his life, as he instantly dove past them all. A quick thrust of concentration came into his mind as a round zipped past him, slamming into the younger male behind him. Before he had a time to react, his body tensed as a burst of stone and thick, dense rock shot up in front of him, blocking the line of sight slightly....But...He hadn't cast the spell properly, and the wall was not nearly as thick as he had once done before...

"F-Fuck...A Mist...Won't...Do shit against...Guns...This will...For a bit." Marcus panted, and wheezed heavily, as he took a knee downwards beside his creation of the wave. Chisels of shots being fired against it could be heard as the wall could not prevent rounds fully. It was only a matter of time before it would be broken and they'd have to fall back. The wall had taken up a lot of space within the room, but it helped. Unfortunately, he wasn't quick enough to save the already hit kid. Marcus was in-fact furious at the sudden change in plan. It was supposed to go differently.

As small holes began to chisel through the rock wall, the Portal behind him began to develop. He had just accidentally acted in favour of these people...Or was it accidental. Either way, it was only useful for a short time, as more and more holes were made in the stone wall as if it were demoralising against their firepower. Through one of the holes, Marcus could make out legs. His eyes flashed between Gavin, and Eric, before he made a very drastic, and quite stupid decision.

Drawing the Glock 17 from his in-coat holster, he poked the handgun underneath the hole and pulled the trigger. A bang echoed throughout the room amongst the other shots, as a painful grunt was heard faintly amongst the noise. A bullet slammed into the leg of the spotted target, though not anywhere vital. As the body stumbled backwards, he used his free hand to shove whatever debris in front of the hole. He sat there, his backside against the hole, as he looked upwards, sort of contemplating whether or not he was going to be severely punished for his action. Either way...He had to wait until the portal was ready, and he was not ready to stand after the splintering wood had hit him.

Gavin nodded at Kasumi's words, before, as Master Grey moved to protect them all, closing his existing portal so that he can concentrate, trying to open up a larger one just behind them - hopefully the others can coordinate enough to win them the required time. Desmond, meanwhile, had manifested his true form, and was presenting the strongest resistance to their new opponents.

As for Mitsuki, another nod of acknowledgement, saying:

"The plan is simple," a blue rift in space-time had now opened, was the size of two people, and still growing, "you guys help Desmond buy time, I open up a way to escape. This portal will go directly to Greece, close to our destination, where we can regroup -"

Then suddenly, all of the group would feel a sense of vertigo, as Sparrow Freemark, the Motel Owner, revealed her true allegiances - to the Government.

Brandishing a Federal Badge for the benefit of the task force she was trying to cooperate with, Mrs. Freemark, her green eyes firmly set as the wind blew her red hair behind her back, blocked the motel door and a potential way of escape. With her Mind magic and a strong willpower of her own, she was trying to overcome the mental defenses of everyone except Marcus, causing them dizzyness and confusion to make them easier pickings. Even worse, Gavin's portal was starting to fizzle out.

Desmond and Eric would be the best-placed, willpower-wise, to defend against Sparrow's attack. Fenrir would be the secondmost, as the guy had been hardened by his background as well. Gavin and the rest, however, came from ordinary walks of life, and were thus less-equipped to deal with a direct assault on their minds. Mitsuki and Master Grey would be surprised to know that much as their academic lifestyles had strengthened some aspects of themselves, it had weakened them against actual threats to their lives.

In the meantime, Sparrow would speak to Marcus telepathically:

Are you preserving your cover or betraying your country? We've discovered enough to know that these guys are dangerous, even if they don't think of themselves as hostile...

O'Ryan

O'Ryan would wake up to the smell of gunpowder wafting into the room. The reason for that, because a bona-fide rift in space, glowing grey and beige, was in front of him, and from said rift would walk two people, both male, with black hair and eyes.

The first was a tall-ish young man of about 18 years of age, clad in a red-orange shirt and blue jeans, as well as red-white sneakers. His most striking feature was that he had only one natural arm, his left; the right arm's place was taken by a transparent, ghostly form that, as evidenced by the sleeve of the teen's T-shirt, was still tangible.

The second was a boy of 14 years of age who resembled his companion, but with a blue-and-white checkered hoodie that hid a faint frown of sadness. And yes, they just appeared in his room, via an impossible portal.

"My name is Alexander," said the 'one-armed' man, "and this is my brother, Ascot. We're here to take you to Gavin."

The Units were quickly breaking through the confusion of their breach. The reality of the situation was sinking in immediately to many of the people in the room. Some were hyper-sensitive to the situation, while others were too slow to react altogether and left themselves at the grips of defeat. However this fight was just beginning.. more so than they truly knew it to be.

"I'm afraid, sir, that I can't go along with all of this. I don't seek further communion with magic. And furthermore, I don't seek to be set apart-- antagonized-- in any form, more than I already am. Why can't I just be satisfied with with my current state of affairs? This problem, now that I been given its particulars, is one I don't find especially pleasing". Kira left the room after protection herself with bend light, glad that she had told the taxi driver to keep the gas running.

However, once Kira stepped outside she found no taxi or it's driver. In reality the Taxi driver had sped off nearly the moment she stepped inside the motel. This was Mrs. Freemark's doing for the assurance of no unwanted witnesses and the easy retrieval of potential leavers. Which is exactly what began to transpire. Kira was met with an instant surprise as an unmarked Armored Van sped up and the rear doors burst open. A single heavy unit leaped out and fired off his shotgun, releasing a Taser round directly into her right thigh and with it she collapsed into a tased state of paralysis. The ceramite barbs quickly nullified any magic she was channeling as well as the spirits bound to her were dispelled and made pointless wisps as they disintegrated into the air. Kira was now helpless and at the whim of the Government, for the Heavy Unit now grabbed her and threw her into the back of the van before it sped off once more.

Kira was the first to fall to the Government, but she was certainly not the last as the battle soon offically began after that mark in time. It was now that the full weight of the conflict arose with both sides pulling their punches in their own way.

Someone would of shouted about freezing and remaining still, causing Charles to be confused. He would feel something impact him and his eyes would wide, "Crap baskets" he would get out before collapsing onto the ground.

Charles had now fallen in the heat of the initial breach and with him came the arrival of the climax to the rest of the group. Everyone now fully realized the intensity and severity of their situation as Magi. No matter how one tried to rationalize it there was no escaping the ideal, the understanding, the concept that was made clear once through Eric's words. They shouldn't had been yammering on about powers, and confidence tones of how they could utilize their magic. They should have been acting but even Eric couldn't see it coming at such a close time. He would have seen them coming through his senses but their armor saved them that grace. They were void in any magical sensory spells or talents and they were perfectly coordinated for this operation.

This is the moment that everything when rapidly into the arms of dismay and chaos for the group. It was at this moment the pinnacle point of the time lapse from the breach caused most of the confusion to wear off for everyone. Desmond reacted with a combat strategy that instantly disobeyed Gavin's orders for the group. The Archon-like being was unleashing a powerful blast of energy, as it was released it seared away at the floor-boards and the ground, but it's power was highly over-estimated by it's caster. The five Heavies were instantly in action as he revealed himself and by the time he fired his energy they were dashing towards him with great effort. The five of them surrounded the energy-comprised male and caused his blast to be body blocked, absorbed by their armor, and prevented any major damage. However int he process of closing this gap, the center unit was lost. His armor sustained the most magical "heat" from the blast and was over-powered which caused the unit to succumb to the power of the magical ability. Unit Five was seared away by the purple magic, but his position was filled by the other four as they handled the blast until it ended and closed in up close around the purple male. Now he was unable to do anything, these Heavies wore the most armor and thusly the most Ceramic of the Units. Their combined suits comprised an Anti-magic cage more or less that held the male in place. He could not escape, neither above nor below, and nowhere inbetween them. His body ached and shrieked in fear as the anti-magic aura was so close, practically causing wisps of his body to slowly string out and disappear. He was utterly helpless to do anything for himself, if he wished to escape and survive, he would need the help of those around him.

Kasumi opened the door quickly and teleported out, she kept teleporting until she was far enough to be safe but close enough so the building was still in sight which meant her clone wasn't gone yet. She closed her eyes and focused on her clone.

The Units weren't idiots, and they planned for practically every possible option. They knew there would be those would run and try to escape the location with their unique magical abilities. However they never expected them to be so reckless with their escape. Kasumi, the groups resident stealth magi had very quickly thrown herself from the frying pan into the fire. For she hadn't noticed that several meters to her right was one of the Sniper units perched upon a small shed. It was at this instant the error of her ways made true fruition for the US Government Operative. He quickly snapped his rifle to the left with a silent motion and then pulled the hair trigger with a gentle squeeze. The unique tranq dart quickly whipped through the air and planted itself in Kasumi's back. The muscle paralysis unit set in within mere seconds and she found herself at the whim of a soft sting and her magic nullified from the ceramic syringe in the tranq dart. The Sniper utilized this time to restrain the Magi with cuffs and a few cloth binds to prevent her from speaking before radioing for the currently active retrieval van to drive around and pick her up, which happened only a minute or so after the call.

Immediately, he began to take and control all the water in the air around him, as well as water in taps and pipes. He then and created a much stronger bubble. He had the bubble wrap around him and Gavin and for every person that came close he'd extend it to protect them too. It wouldn't last forever but it would help in the meantime.

Another magi, one who was there earlier got hit by the tazer shots. "DAMN!" she thought, as she ran, using the mist as a cover to get the fallen magi (Charles) and bring him inside the bubble.

Indeed Master Grey's bubble would not last forever and it would certainly last even less as long now that Mitsuki had dragged one of the already downed targets into the Bubble. The Units of the operation weren't willing to give up their tagged targets, especially the easy ones, and by now even more of the base units swarmed into the motel room and they were opening fire with precision aim. Their shots were still non-lethal flesh-wound-causing shrapnel rounds, but they aimed for problem areas due to training. Legs, backs, shoulders, places that shrapnel would induce great problem for the recipient of the bullet. It was this trained precision that allowed the units to quickly pop the bubble Master Grey had formed with water, but it was the rounds that had caused an even greater effect than expected. Due to the nature of the bubble, upon the round's contact to the surface tension of the water, it would cause them to splinter and turn to shrapnel as if they had met their target but they still had great moment. Master Grey had unknowingly turned his "safety zone" into a home made flak-cannon that now held near-inescapable shrapnel propelled at Mitsuki, Gavin, Charles, and Himself. All while the bubble itself still faltered under the combat.

Marcus was supposed to be an agent on the inside for the Units. They were meant to be entirely safe from his actions, if not his only ones were to be acting as if an ally to the Magi until their capture. However several moments after the creation of the wall and the firing to begin breaking it down, he un-holstered his own firearm and took aim through the wall at the enemy. This was a mark against the Units, against their Boss, and against their cause as a whole. He was now designated a traitor with ease. He had injured a single standard unit with a leg wound which caused the Unit to be unable to walk and push further in. His allies quickly heaved him to the back-line before another shot could be taken, but what was rather grand, was that Marcus never accounted for the Heavies who had run at the Archon-like being, and had been unleashing a maw of Taser rounds at the group. Two of which now quickly flew and impacted Marcus across his body. The first landed in his left upper-arm while the second landed in his ribs on the left side of his body. Marcus had placed himself in this position with a glancing thought and an unreserved nature for watching the events of the world in full. The Heavies silently bolstered their anger in their heads as they had to bring down one of their inside-agents with this Operation, but what must be done, must be done.

The full scale of the plan came to true fruition as Freemark revealed her true self to the group. She had enacted upon the attack with great coordination and were now stripping the group of their faculties and ability to focus. She was not one to be underestimated at this game of willpower. There were few who could push past her capabilities and it was good for the group that a few existed among them. They would have to fight through this force afflicted upon them, otherwise the whole group would fall to the enemy before their journey ever truly began.

This was the realization that would grip into their minds as they all struggled to hold off the situations persistent problems. The group was now held in place by the enemy, oppressed from both sides, all the while the Units were shooting through the wall ever more and were nearly breached, and Freemark held her reigns over the minds of the group. Everything that had been spoken about, everything that had been brought up as a matter of importance to the group, everything that was said for them to fight for, and yet they were barely able to coordinate an operation to leave the damn motel. This though, this passing thought of reality is what triggered the next event..

Eric was caught in Freemark's mental grips, his body was tense and his hands were gripped at his knees with an iron-clutch. He was slowly feeling dizzy, but it didn't last long. Quickly time slowed and his eyes grew wide as he looked about the room, his heart slamming inside of his chest like a pneumatic hammer, and he viewed the scene as it was wholly. He watched Charles go down in an instant to a taser round, Desmond trying to fire off, but being surrounded far too quickly, Master Grey's attempts to protect those working on the escape plan, Kasumi teleport out of the building altogether to leave them high and dry, even watching Marcus through up a wall that was quickly faltering to the sustained gunfire. Altogether it was limiting to him as he understood them and their actions, the ideals that they had all spoken of prior to the fight. How they boasted and bantered of abilities and brains, as if to say there were marvels for their powers they had obtained and yet each of them were facing issues they never truly imagined would be present. These Magi spoke as if they knew everything they needed to know but the enemy seemed to be much more knowledgeable of the entire concept then all of them.

Eric was growing more angry than he had all day, the faltering bodies, the invasive mind-tricks of Freemark, the constant ringing of gunfire all around him, and the mere fact that Taser rounds were still being fired inaccurately through the smoky haze created by Mitsuki. It was all pushing at something.. sending it over the edge.. poking it with a stick..

"You think you can stop me, by getting in my head? Clever Girl. You don't release what you are doing in there.." Eric spoke with his mind, letting Freemark openly hear his thoughts as his body tightened ever further and his hands clenched his knees painfully. His eyes closed for a moment while his body ached and pulsated against with a quiver of adrenaline. His entire form was now echoing a sensation through the room, it was like a wave that overcame the atmosphere of the room. He was drawing in his magic to a focal point, gathering and storing it internally, compressing it into his chest and harnessing it entirely. His body was beginning to radiate a green aura that whipped around with the power of the North Winds, and his muscles writhed vigorously as he pushed his limits with the magic. He held his stance and gathered more and more, until his eyes themselves revealed the magical nature of his actions. They snapped open and two brilliant green Orbs glowed among the mist while his voice was heard deep and load throughout the room.

"You think your games will falter us, Freemark? Your Mind games won't work on me! I have had much worse mental states from much more mundane experiences..and You think your Guns will shoot us down so easily!? You think I will let us falter at this point so quickly!? They may not have understood the scope of reality... But I certainly do!" He barked with great anger aloud and amidst the room as the magic coming off him overwhelmed the air of the present world, for those who willingly sensed magic, they would almost get a euphoric feeling from the amount of harnessed energy Eric had comprised within himself at this time. "You will all fall.. Freemark." Eric said with little more than a whisper to himself.

"COOOOOOWAAAAARDS!"

Eric screamed a single word at the top of his lungs, it was drawn out and long, but as it was held it seemed to grow unnatural. The word started out in the voice of a deep southern man, but it grew into a massive roar to the heaven's. It seemed to shake the ground beneath everyone present if not for the shear magnitude of the event's loudness and and proximity. This roar was the cusp of what had came to being from Eric's anger. His words now silent as the man that was once there bathed in a magical aura was now replaced with a massive Grizzly. It stood fourteen foot tall on it's hind-legs and it raised it's arms as it stood there, before the behemoth of an Animal came crashing down with an arm crumbling upon Freemark's location in the hopes of ending the pathetic woman's life in one instant. The beast then growled and writhed as it felt a rifle shot pass through the air and impact into it's thick skin on it's left arm. The grizzly, Eric, quickly darted it's attention to the armed forces behind Marcus' now toppling wall. Eric made his decision instantly and the Magi sent himself into the fray of combat. The powerful entity was lumbering and quickly so towards the remains of the wall before the large beast crashed into it, sending rocks and rubble flying out towards the horde of the armed Units. Many of them were knocked back by the force of the attack and others shielded themselves from flying stone. This was not Eric's only attack however as he immediately hoisted his mighty arms about, slamming them into Units and flinging them back into their own ranks, smashing them against one another and the ground, trampling and mauling them without killing them outright for the sake of the group. He of coursed sustained fire from the units, shrapnel rounds were impacting him across his hide and fur, but it was more resilient thanks to the use of magic. He was more than any normal Grizzly, he was by far the greatest weapon the Magi had unleashed against the Unit's yet.

His anger boiled under his thick skin, his mind wandered with rage about the whole situation, and he was certain the others would be able to make it out alive now, with Freemark hopefully disposed of for good. He had willingly acted in the hopes of not only saving their lives, but proving his point to them. Eric was now at the mercy of Combat.

O'Ryan Cooper

O'Ryan's immediate response as he looked at the two young looking people who had appeared before him was to back up, and immediately put himself in a defensive stance. It was already strange enough that these two men had appeared out of a giant hole in front of him, but one of them had some sort of weird transparent arm. He had no idea what was going on and they somehow knew whom and where Gavin were, but he still got the sneaking suspicion of something else going on.

"Why should I trust you for even a second? And how in the hell do you know who or where Gavin is?" O'Ryan immediately asked defensively as he looked straight towards this supposed Alexander and Ascot people.

"We visited him in dreams," Ascot said. "Anyway, I like an extended conversation as much as the next person, but we have no time for this; Gavin needs help."

"He has powers like we do," Alexander added, "and he's being hunted for them by the Government."

O'Ryan could only look at the two who were talking to him, it was so strange. First they appear out of thin air, somehow know where Gavin is, they ask them to walk with him, visit Gavin in his dreams, his partner having powers of some sort, and now all of a sudden Gavin was being hunted by the government? It was either insane or he was being made a fool of. But, he didn't know what to believe. These two did just appear from some sort of portal and one had a seemingly translucent and transparent arm attached to him. So maybe they weren't trying to trick him. At this point he was 50/50 on the current situation. Both beliving these two and having a strong disbelief of their statements. But really, what choice did he have? I mean if he did follow them he could see Gavin and help him, but it could be a trap of some sort. O'Ryan could only tug at his blonde hair for a moment as he tried to think this entire scenario over. He could only grunt and growl for a moment before standing up finally.

"Stay right here, I'll be back soon." O'Ryan informed the two mysterious people whom he just now met. He marched into a different room of the apartment he lived in and the sounds of zippers and things being stuffed into something could be heard from down the hallway.

A short while later, O'Ryan had came walking down the hallway. On his back his old Army pack and strapped to his person were his pistol, shotgun, and his AR-15 sticking out the pack. He had even put on his old military boots and some protective padding he had been able to keep.

"Now then I will follow you, but if for some reason all you two have been doing is playing some sort of weird joke... I'll make you regret it." O'Ryan stated as he could feel his hand slightly grace his pistol.

A nod, and Alexander would then walk over to Orion and touch his forehead, causing a pulse of grey energy to wash over him. The young man would then say:

"Follow me to the portal now, and thanks."

Once O'Ryan went inside the portal, he would smell gunpowder and fire, as well as sight various souls in flaming clothing, singing lamentations and exclamations of guilt.

"Stay close to me," Alexander spoke, before the portal behind the group closed, and the young man would open another gateway, a gateway from which sounds of gunfire and screaming would echo. Ascot transformed into a Liger in carbon-fibre armor, then hopped through; Alexander would follow his brother, while gesturing for O'Ryan to do so as well.

Gavin, wounded in both arms by the shattering of Master Grey's bubble, was now opening another portal, a portal the size of a small car, but it was fizzling out, he still needed protection!

Sighting O'Ryan, the eighteen-year old boy would say:

"O'Ryan...you...you shouldn't have come..."

O'Ryan first response was to run over to Gavin and immediately drew his pistol and immediately began opening fire to whatever was firing on Gavin and his little group. He didn't know what was going on, but the best thing he could do was provide cover for these guys. "Less talking, preserve your strength. We'll chat later once we get out of here and patch ourselves up." Orion said as he began firing his pistol from behind cover, only stopping to reload, or ready to use his shotgun or AR-15 if needed.

A nod from Gavin as the portal grew wider.

"Protect the people near me as well..." he trailed off in his request as the portal grew larger.

A man in dusty overcoat tugs at his collar as if waiting for something big to happen. It was midday and the hot sun beat down on the necks of of the people coming and going in the market. This man furtively watching the people walk past the street side cafe was no ordinary person, no he was a mage, not just any mage, he was Jon Bethlehem, for what it's worth. Behind his aviator shades hid his baggy eyes he was clearly haggard as if he hadn't slept in days, upon closer inspection one could tell he was drenched in sweat, it wasn't just the heat getting to him, but rather a combination of the aforementioned, and stress.

"It just had to be a market didn't it, so many people that could be watching me, heavens forbid after me because of my magic. No, no I've been careful, I've left no paper trail and thoroughly covered my tracks, there's no way they could have found me yet." He muttered to himself. Yet his doubts still remained, was any of this real, or just a delusion, was he paranoid or were people actually out to get him?

The answer quickly proved irrelevant as he began to perceive the heady odor of ozone filling his mouth and nostrils, he quickly rose placing exact change for his half finished tonic, he set off to find the place where his fellow Magi would be shortly arriving. He was determined to be the first member of the welcoming party, and to see if they could be trusted.

Charles' Nightmare

Charles would find himself looking apon an unfamiliar yet strangely familiar as well scene. As a car is driving along the road, him looking from far above. He felt a strange attachment that he didn't understand, he heard the voices in the car, one even calling his name. It confused him, then he seen Semi barreling straight for them he wanted to shout out for them to watch out but suddenly everything goes black.

All around would be blackness as he hears far off voices screaming, some of worry some of anger. until what look like spirits start appearing all across the darkness, a voice speak out to him 'You have much potential, you will do great things' the voice that spoke out would sound familiar to him but he wouldn't understand why or even who said it. It was the voice of one of his parents. Then quickly after all the spirit's eyes would turn red and lunch at him causing his vision to go dark again.

Morgana Estrain

Anarchy. Pure and simple anarchy. The world exploded in a burst of chipped wood and stone, shouted words, gunshots and assorted magics. Morgana couldn't react. She had no idea how to react. It was all far too much Her only refuge was an action she had drilled into herself some time ago in case she ever found herself in a situation like this. Though her eyes were closed and Morgana was laying on the ground, knocked over from one of the forces being tossed around she grabbed a page from her notebook and ripped it out. The page instantly dissolved and the runes inscribed on both sides activated. Magic and Shield. A surge of magic, even filtered by the powerful anti-mage equipment filled the area, flooding any mages in the area with more power. A small, mostly invisible, dome formed over Morgana's prone body, layers upon layers of magical fields protecting her, varying in types, from soft absorbent ones, to rigid ones designed to deflect. Protected from immediate danger, even anti-magic rounds would find themselves weakening, reflecting, shattering, or being gooped from the layers of protection around her, Morgana reached for another page and desperately tried to think of what she could do. It was all too much!

He never told his mom how he made it all the way from St. Louis to San Francisco, only that he'd flown. He let her assume it was on a plane, and shrugged when she asked how he'd paid for it. He was beginning to realize his mom's home wasn't the Eden he'd hoped for; she was suspicious of him, her other kids didn't like to be around him, and her husband was content to watch him dig his own grave. Aden had too many secrets already, and his cagey attitude about why he'd run away from his dad wasn't helping his case. For some reason he'd expected to seamlessly integrate with this perfect life his mother had escaped to, but that wasn't the reality at all.

He would be leaving once the summer ended, this time to a dorm at the college. He wouldn't be reminding his mother of her mistakes from there, but at least he'd be away from his dad too. Or that had been the plan anyway, but as the summer stretched on... he had to get out. Luckily there was a message for him, mixed in with the emails he received about his financial aid being refused.

Maybe he shouldn't have been so trusting, but he wouldn't know until he got there. He'd never been out of the country before, even with his new abilities he hadn't considered the possibility. He was eager to see Greece though, and meet with others like him. Would this be the Eden he'd missed out on? He was reluctant to hope.

He left in the night, with his few belongings. Even if this meeting didn't pan out he wasn't going back there. It took him a few hours to reach Greece, a very boring stretch of time spent mostly watching cities fly by, and then trying to sense movement beneath the waves as he flew over the Atlantic. He may have slowed down over Europe, but he only stopped once in Italy for lunch, which he somehow managed to talk the shop owner into accepting his US Dollars instead of the Euros he didn't have. It was't long after that when he dropped onto the roof of a random building in a random city on the Greek west coast. He kept losing service every time he used his magic to fly, so he wasn't sure if it was Epirus, or even Greece, but from a bird's eye it looked vaguely like the right place.

He plopped down cross-legged on a balcony just below the roof he'd landed on and pulled out his phone. Service was spotty at best, and kept fizzling out. He wasn't sure if he was outside his coverage range or if it was the lingering effects of being exposed to the electromagnetic manipulations of his powers.

It was almost a whole hour later before the phone finally connected to the internet long enough for him to check his email. He replied to the one who'd emailed him, hoping he'd get a timely response. He took a picture of a nearby sign that looked like it might be a city name and hoped it didn't say something stupid like 'Coco's Pizza!' He sent it, as well as the attached message; "I'm in Greece, where do I go from here?" Epirus was a small area of land compared to some American stretches, but it still wasn't all that specific. He hoped this wasn't some kind of sinister trap, he'd hate to be on some kind of wanted list.

Far Far Away in a Hidden Place

A boy would be sipping in his drink watching a monitor screen, he'd sigh some at the battle on the screen. "of course there had to be those who wanted to interfere.." he would shake his head and glance to the side as another monitor starts blinking red "..so the package has almost arrived.. alright time to suit up." he says as he gets out of his chair and puts on a strange set of equipment standing on a platform that attaches to his feet and holograms appear around him, he'd grin "Game on".

A Crashing outside Interference

A loud whistling sound would be heard across the battlefield. Probably causing confusion in the soldiers and the magi both. It would sound like an air strike was coming in, as something suddenly comes crashing out of the sky slamming onto the pavement outside behind the soldiers causing rubble and dust to rise into the air. A black shape would stand in the dust, as the dust clears a humanoid shaped machine would be standing there in the small crator created in the pavement. It would turn towards the soldiers in the building and suddenly launch towards them, and begin to strike at them in close proximity with great force. This mysterious being seemed to be against the soldiers, thanks to it's body the non-lethal ammunition from the soldiers wouldn't do much to it, while the lethal ammunition would still have a rough time against it's platting, though will start to make obvious dents, the anti-magic equipment would have some affect on the machine making it slow down but wouldn't seem to be able to disable it entirely thanks to it's two types of power supply.

Kasumi

Kasumi continued to stand watch on top of the building, although, now that she was calm and relaxed, time had passed, and it was then then Kasumi's eyes went wide. The effect of the bullet was taking effect. Kasumi stumbled a little, but tried to resist as much as she could. Although, she couldn't and she couldn't use her magic to get away either. Kasumi fell off the building and landed to the floor. Luckily however, the building only a small one and the fall only resulted in a few cuts and bruises. It was then that Kasumi was taken and captured. What happens next is up to fate to decide.

Master Grey

Master Grey was shocked to see that his attempt to protect everyone was used against him, and it only made things worse. With him being in the center, the shrapnel got Master Grey good, giving him a few scary cuts and wounds. He fell to his knees and closed his eyes, for the pain was almost too much for him. Slowly, he got himself up weakly and spoke in a quiet voice, although loud enough to be heard.

"We are losing so many of our comrades, and I can't keep going for much longer. What are we to do, Gavin?"

He placed his hand over his eyes as his vision blurred with the pain but right now he was still standing. He tried to use his magic, but it was weak. He hadn't the energy to act with the pain from the shrapnel.

A portal as wide as an SUV would open, and Gavin, given cover by Orion and everyone else, would yell:

"Gate is open! Everyone inside, now!" He would then look at Alexander, who would use Control Element to pull everyone to and through the portal, although Master Grey might try to counteract it. Once the group had been inserted into the rift in space-time, Gavin would look around to see if he had managed to get out everyone who can be gotten out, and then close the magical gate. Then, another look...and the young man would see that he had gotten the group out of the frying pan and into the fire, because he had appeared in a crowded market square, in a small Greek town - he can recognize the local costumes.

But Ascot was already acting to delay any panic, by saying, in perfect Greek:

"Don't worry, don't worry! This is all special effects - a film crew is shooting here!" His voice was layered over with Mind Magic, a combination of Telepathy and various cantrips working in unison. The crowd of witnesses would then stare at them, half-disbelieving, and then continue on with their business.

"It won't last forever," the boy said, "but it should buy us some time. My name is Ascot Sky, the older person who looks like me is my brother Alexander, and the one with no magic but lots of weapons is O' Ryan. We're in Epirus, Greece now, and we should seek some place to go to ground."

"Also, I and Alex sent a message to another person, one who might help us a lot..."

Said other person, Aden Ross, was at the other end of the square, having witnessed the whole thing...

As the Crowd disperses a sole person stays staring. Jon's faded overcoat hangs loosely off his wiry frame, as his shades reflect the hot sun, he lowers his glasses and looks over at the congregation of mages dissappointedly.
"Come on now, you can be subtler than that I hope, and that excuse was pathetic, here's how you do it!" Jon's hands glow as he moves them back and forth in a hypnotic manner manifesting a multitude of road barriers and traffic cones blocking the street off from traffic. He then closes his eyes tightly and snaps his fingers causing a thin wispy essence to emit from his fingers, and wrapping around the heads of the witnesses.
"That should do it, now they shouldn't remember any of this exchange, and think of this area as under-construction for the next week." he loudly sighs and says "If you guys keep being so blatant about your magic use you're gonna all get captured within a month, anyways My names Jon Bethlehem, and I've been expecting more mages to show up here, but I didn't expect such a grand entrance."
Jon offers his hand to Alexander then seeing his missing arm retracts his hand, and offers his other one.

Aden ducked behind the barrier around the balcony at the sudden disturbance, slipping on his sunglasses just in case he needed to blast a calenallum at any attackers. Luckily whatever was happening seemed contained to the streets below, and not directed at him. He took a moment to steady his breathing, annoyed at himself for being so paranoid. Just because the message had been a little mysterious, and the location a bit far-flung, it didn't mean anyone was out to get him, he was just... overthinking, that's all.

He stood again, looking down at the area the noise and light had come from. There was a myriad of new people that hadn't been there before. He couldn't name any of them, so who knew if they were who he was supposed to be meeting or not. Given the blatantly magical nature of their arrival however, well Aden was growing increasingly doubtful of anything resembling the word 'coincidence'.

Before his eyes traffic cones and official looking cordons appeared in the area. People began to leave, but Aden wasn't close enough to tell if they were suspicious or not. If he had to guess, they were too calm about the ordeal to be leaving without some kind of influence- and despite having no such spells of his own he knew they were possible. After a moment all that remained were the newcomers- or who he assumed to be newcomers, he hadn't been looking when they popped out of... wherever.

After a moment he decided to approach, looking both ways to make sure no one outside the area was looking, and then began focusing his magic around himself for flight. He accidentally knocked over a pot as the force of his power rattled the gravity nearby. He jumped, becoming weightless, and drifted towards the ground where the group was standing. He shuffled nervously for a second, glancing at each face searchingly, then; "Anyone here called Alex?"

O'Ryan Cooper

O'Ryan could only stare and look around at his new surroundings. One minute he was being shot at, and now all of a sudden he was in Greece. And now he was hanging around all these weird people with these apparent magical user. He could only shake his head and massage the bridge of his nose, this was already a long day. It was only going to get much longer and far more irritating. "Alright, time to move out and hide." O'Ryan said as he adjusted the guns on himself. "We're not going to stay hidden forever, if whoever you're... fighting or whatever are as the same as you, more than likely they'll be on our asses soon." O'Ryan said.

"Also, best not to use our phones. Unless we want to basically want to wave a giant flag and shout 'Here we are!'." O'Ryan immediately began searching the closet route to get out of the crowded area of this little market. It was time to hide and lay low.
