Lily Soul of Paitence

Just as panic was about to set in at the thought that no one would come to her rescue, she heard a voice yelling closer to her than the other voices she heard. It took a bit of maneuvering her upper body but she was able to twist slightly, enough to crane her head around in the direction of the shouting. He was a bit sideways but Lilia was able to clearly make out a boy across the river from where she laid, trapped. He waved at her before darting to the side and pulling his...clothes on? Why did he have them off in the first place? A thought for later. She watched with baited breath as he heaved and shoved at a tree until it fell down to make a bridge. Wow, he sure was strong. His journey across the tree was tense and Lily felt her breath catch every time he or his make-shift bridge wobbled. But thankfully he made it across without incident and darted over to her. Relief skittered down her spine. Never before has she ever been thankful to see another person in her life. She gave a small smile in return. "I'm alright. I don't feel any pain so I don't think I'm hurt, just stuck and I can't move this thing on my own." She gave an ineffective shove against the seat to prove her point.

As she spoke she heard shouting and looked over just in time to see a boy fall to the ground. Her eyes widened as she gazed at him, hoping he was okay. She breathed a sigh of relief when he climbed to his feet and made his way over to them. "I'm alright. I'm not hurt, just stuck and I can't move it on my own. What about you though? That was quite a nasty fall. Maybe you shouldn't move around too much just in case you hurt your head." Seeing other children gave her hope that the rest of the kids on the bus plus the teachers were okay as well. Hopefully they could get this seat off of her and they could go find the others and figure out what to do next. They obviously must have fallen down a hole they didn't initially see upon their descent down the mountain side so there must be a way out...Right?

Rocks and dust shot out from the cliff face below as the edge the Mrs.Cassidy and Dilloh crumbled and sank. The ground trembled, sinking and pulling the two downward. Mrs.Cassidy let out a scream as her hand slipped. The branch holding up her bag had finally given, snapping under the weight and causing her arm to drop. The bag slipped off her arm, cascading into the darkness, while her other hand held tightly onto the pants leg. With one final exertion of strength, the desperate woman threw her free arm up, gripping both hands onto the link between her and the children.

Gravity played with Lucia and Mimi's balance as the ground rattled below them. They could feel the weight of the teach and Dilloh pulling on them and almost felt their grip begin to slip until, at the the last moment, with one massive primal heave, the determined boy pulled Mrs.Cassidy up over the crumbling ledge. The two girls helped pull the pair the rest of the way, and they all fell in a pile onto stable ground. The hissing, clacking sounds of falling rocks and dirt echoed into silence as the dust settled over the children.

Mrs.Cassidy coughed, accidentally sucking in some of the dust in rapid breaths as she rolled off of the students that saved her life and onto the ground beside them. She covered her mouth with a trembling hand trying to stifle the coughing. She eventually caught her breath, grasping her chest as her heart thundered in her chest. She was speechless at first. Her brain scrambled to figure out what was going on. Finally she brought herself to look at her saviors, her gaze holding back fearful tears. "Th-thank you. Thank you s-so much!" She grasped Dilloh, hugging him tightly as a tear escaped the corner of her eye. "Thank you kids! I...I would have..." Slowly, she calmed down, releasing the boy and rubbing her face before sitting up and looking around, though she dared not look over the cliff. After a few moments, her memory returned to her, and she put the situation together. "Oh god...oh god the bus. Those kids..." Suddenly her efforts to hold back tears failed as she realized she'd just seen the bus of god knows how many children fall to certain death.

Across the cavern, consciousness slowly returned to Mr.Connors. Dim light that pierced through the rocky formations above was the first thing he saw. It took him a few moments before her realized he could feel pain all throughout his body. "...I guess...That wasn't a bad dream..." He started to sit up, when he noticed the young girl Mary laying motionless next to him. "Hey. Hey are you alright?" he asked, reaching out and gently prodding the unconscious girl. However something caught the corner of his eye. He noticed motioned from the edge of the underground pond nearby. His first thoughts were of a child potentially drowning. This spurred him into motion, causing him to clumsily pull himself to his feet and stagger over. He grasped his side with one hand, trying to suppress the aches that nagged at his body. Finally the limping teacher made his way to the edge of the water. He looked down, trying to see if he could spot someone under the water.

Suddenly the sound of crying rang out as a few of the random children began to wake up. Of them, was Naomi, who cried out as she grasped her leg. Pain from the wound caused her to wake up suddenly. She couldn't form words. Only frantic yelps and moans as she rolled onto her side, curling from the agony. Other children simultaneously began to stand, roaming around, or call out for help. Most of the children were old enough to be hurt or lost and not break down. A few tripped over each other as they scrambled to adapt to the darkness, or attempted to escape it.

You rescued a leader, but may still have to be one.
Watching eyes anticipated your fall. But from where?
You saved one but may have lost another.
Save your tears. You might still need them.
Still stuck.
You came to help!
Watching eyes hoped for you fall. But from where?

A half smile crossed Ashton's face as the pinned girl showed concern for him. He threw her a thumbs up with his good arm. "Heh...no don't worry about me. My parents call me durable!" He recoiled a bit from the pain after throwing his arm up so fast. "They uh...also call me clumsy. But uh...let's focus on the girl who's trapped first shall we?" Ashton forced a chuckle through the pain before looking around for something that could help. "Hey! I have an idea!" Declared Ashton, standing up and walking to a near by pile of ruble. Kneeling down, he pushed aside a few scraps of sheet metal left over from the bus and other pieces of ruble to find what looked like a tail pipe. It was a bit difficult with one hand, but after some heaving and tugging, Ashton freed the pipe from the pile of rubble and dragged it across the ground back to where the girl laid pinned. The pipe was a bit greasy and somewhat caked in dirt, but getting a little dirty wasn't that much of an issue right now.

"Alright, I'm going to try and use leverage to get you out of there. So just hold tight okay?" Ashton tried to reassure the girl, though he realised he probably shouldn't have admitted to being clumsy before the fact. Something he hoped the girl hadn't thought to much about as he lifted the tail pipe and wedged it between a rock and the large bus seat. The sound of scraping metal echoed out as Ashton carefully but firmly wedged the pole into position. He focused on keeping it from hitting the girl as he finally got the metal wedge deep enough between the ground and the wreckage to be able to move it. "Okay! Push on three alright?" Taking in a deep breath, Ashton pushed with all his weight onto the tail pipe. "Three!" He shouted, his face turning red as he struggled to make even an inch of progress. He managed to budge it, but not completely out of the way. He needed just the smallest bit of a push from the girl, or anyone, and the wreckage would be lifted enough for her to escape. "Y....you can do it!" Grunted Ashton, hoping the girl would act before his strength gave out.

Ginty, the soul of Integrity

@Inner Demon@XxLyraxX

Ginty calmly stands back has the other boy tries his idea while he pulls out his vine ropes from his bag. "Umm Hey... Why don't we tie this around the seat and try pulling it off of her? Or maybe tying this around her and pulling her out?" He suggested and holds up the vines for the boy to see them, "This way the girl would not need to use her strength since she'll need it to stand so we could have an easier time bringing her somewhere so either of us or if there is anyone else down here can tend to any wounds." He then set down his bag and sets down the rope so one end is on the ground and the other end is in his hand. He then pulls on it to test the strength and make sure it wouldn't break causing them the get hurt.
Ginty looks down at the girl and tilts his head has if asking for her opinion has well since she is the one who they are trying to free and she is the one who is going to end up being in pain once they get that bus seat off of her. "Ummm... By the way... what is all of your guy's names? Mine is Ginty," He says looking at them both curiously trying to think if he has seen them around before. After a bit of thinking while waiting for there responce he comes to the conclusion that he hasn't met or seen them before and just shrugs it off.

Lilia gave the boy who had fallen down a small smile, glad he wasn't hurt; it was going to be tough as it was getting out of here and to have a hurt leg or foot would make it very difficult. Lilia watched as the boy who had fallen down next to her turn and begin to rummage around in a pile of debris and remains of the bus. She tried to crane her head, curious as to what he was looking for. When he turned around, she saw that he was clutching at a tall pipe. Oh! Maybe they could wedge it between something like a rock and the seat and use it as leverage to lift the seat up. Which seemed to have been the boy's idea as well as he relayed exactly what she had been thinking. As he got the pipe in place, she turned to look at the other boy standing by, hadn't she heard him say his name was Ginty? "With my leg pinned under the seat, I don't think tying the rope around me will work. If the pipe by itself doesn't lift the seat up, then maybe we can tie your rope around it and pull with the rope and push with the pipe. Oh, my name is Lilia but you can call me Lily. It's nice to meet you Ginty."

As the introductions were said, it seemed the boy with the pipe was ready to begin. Lilia shifted her upper body until she could place her hands against the seat. She ran her hands over it, searching for the metal frame. Once she found it, she placed her hands firmly against it and looked at the yet-to-be-named boy, who stated he was going to start on the count of three. Lilia tensed her small body as he began to count and when he hit three, she shoved against the seat with all her might. She gave a small grunt, body tensed as she shoved all of her weight against the seat. As she was pushing and the boy was trying to use the pipe to lift it up, Lily was moving her pinned leg, trying to pull it towards her. She hoped that just the slightest give would let her slip her leg through the gap and be free of this seat.

A bead of sweat ran down Ashton's face as he heaved against the seat. He let out an exasperated grunt as the seat began to budge. With the help of the pinned girl, Ashton was able to tilt the wreckage over and set her free. He fell forward a bit as the seat toppled over onto the ground next to Lily. "Whew!" Proclaimed Ashton in an accomplished tone as he rolled over onto his back. "That looked lighter than it was." He turned to Lily and let out a small smile. "Hope you're alright." Ashton lightly gripped his shoulder as the pain continued to ping numbly through his arm. He looked up at the young boy who introduced himself as Ginty. "Nice to meet you Ginty and Lilia...er...Lily. I'm Ashton."

Sitting up, Ashton looked around, seeing if he could see anyone else around in trouble. He found himself struck with awe as he began to notice all the wounded and moaning children. There was no way he could help them all. Especially with his arm in it's condition. "What do we do now? Do you think this place has an exit?" He asked, looking up at the roof of the cave and the hole they fell through far above. "I'm like...ninety percent sure we can't climb back up...not all of us anyway..." He ironically massaged his arm. "Unless maybe we use that rope?" Ashton motioned toward the makeshift rope Ginty offered earlier.

Ginty shook his head in disagreement with Ashton. "Not plausible Ashton. The rope isn't no where near long enough for that. I say we try to help the other people first before we even think about leaving since we are in no condition at all to climb out," he says looking around at the other hurt kids then back at where he first woke up, "We can't help them alone so people we should look for other people who didn't get suverly hurt and who could help us." He then out stretches his hands for the two pf them to help them stand up.

Ginty smiles softly up at them once they were both on there feet. "Well let's go fellow fallen," He said jokingly has he wrapped up his rope and put it the bag bedore walking over to the tree trunk and looks over to the pther side where he left eveeything, "You guys can walk over this right?"

Soul of Perseverance ♥ Mimi

@Thread Generator SIN @Vesuvius00 @Laach [@Probably Everyone Else]

Mimi yelped as the trio pulled up mrs. Cassidy. "Owowowow CRIPES" She wasn't bothered by the unstable ground as much as the partial weight of a grown-up resting on her small frame. With the pulling done, Mimi let herself fall to the ground, landing flat on her ass before laying down with her arms sprawled out. Looking up into the darkness that loomed over them, Mimi's self-pity was interrupted by mrs. Cassidy rambling a bit before bursting into tears. With a sigh Mimi got up again and patted the woman on the back; she hadn't quite grasped the severity of the bus falling, but she did know that crying people should be comforted.

A couple of momens passed before mrs. Cassidy actually calmed down, but eventually, she'd have to. "Did everyone make it out alright? she asked the group. Unlike usual, she actually waited for an answer rather than immediately rush off to the next thing.

Eventually they'd have to move on though, and as soon as it became clear no more people would answer the question Mimi headed to the center of the cavern, calling out "Is anyone up and moving by now?" In the darkness she failed to notice most of the people gasping in pain, probably in shock--the sound of their pain now starting to feel a part of the background noises, yet mostly unnoticed over the rushing water.

Lucia ~♥~ A Kind Soul
Still Alive.
Lucia lost track of her thoughts as she heard Dilloh yelling, using whatever strenth he had to pull up Ms. Cassidy. The ground crumbled more, almost causing Lucia to lose her balance as gravity threatened to pull them all into the pit. Ms. Cassidy's weight was almost too much for her and Mimi as Dilloh and the teacher began to slip. Until, at the last possible second, Dilloh pulled Ms. Cassidy and himself up to safety and then to solid ground. Lucia and Mimi helped them get away from the cliff's edge, the four of them collapsing once they were all finally safe.

Ms. Cassidy got up first, and began to thank the three of them for saving her. Lucia almost answered her, about to ask if the teacher was okay, until her unasked question was answered as the woman started to cry. Lucia got herself to her feet, moving over to the teacher as she knelt on the dust-covered ground in front of her and hugged the crying woman. She pulled Ms. Cassidy into her, as if nearness to another person was all it took to protect someone from the horror of what had just happened. So many kids, so many lives were lost just now, and yet they were still here. They'd survived. She whispered this to Ms. Cassidy as she squeezed the woman a little tighter. "It's okay. You're okay. We survived. We can carry on, for us and for all of them. Memories. We are here. We're alright." A mantra, repeated over and over as Lucia waited for the woman to calm down.

She couldn't let herself cry too, even though her heart ached to do so. What would crying accomplish right now? She would never help Ms. Cassidy or anyone else if she broke down too. She nodded at Mimi a moment after the girl asked if they were alright. She didn't know if her small motion was seen, but it was all she could do while trying to comfort Ms. Cassidy. Her eyes followed Mimi over Ms. Cassidy's shoulder as the girl went off to stand in the approximate center of the cavern, calling out to everyone, trying to see if anyone else was up yet. She heard people beginning to call out for help, and others gasping in pain, but one cry in particular made her jump as she heard it, jerking away from Ms. Cassidy as she looked in the direction it came from. "I'm sorry, miss." She said quickly before standing and running off to where she'd woken up.

The girl who she'd been pinned by was awake now, curled up on the ground as she yelped in pain. Lucia knelt beside the girl and glanced at her leg as she wondered what to do. She hesitated for a moment before putting her hands on the girl's shoulders, pressing firmly until she got her to lay flat on her back. "You uh, need to stay still. You were still bleeding when I woke up, and I would've tried to help you then but our teacher was about to fall off a cliff and I couldn't bear to stand by when the others needed as much help as they could get and..." She trialed off as she felt like she was losing the girl by making excuses, instead looking around for anything that could be useful. There were scraps of cloth and such scattered around, and the pool nearby, and of course all the flowers and bits of metal debris that now made up the floor.

Seeing the cloth around gave her an idea. On TV, when someone got seriously hurt, they would use strips of clothing as bandages, or something like that, right? She took her hands off of the girl, making a 'stay there' motion as she got up and gathered as many pieces of cloth as she could in just a few seconds. Kneeling back down beside the girl, between her and the water now, she placed the handful of fabric under the water and held it there as she spoke to the girl again. "We should try to clean your leg, and then I can use these as a make-shift bandage, maybe? Do you think you could move to put your leg in the water for me?" Asking her to move right now may be like asking a fish to climb a tree. Lucia thought as she pulled the fabrics out of the water and wrung them out so most of the water was out of them. Hopefully they were clean enough now.

A loud splash echoed out from the rear of the cavern, subtly ringing out with the dull roar of groans and cries from the wounded children. Among them were the wails of Naomi as Lucia rapidly approached and offered her comfort. "I-it h-hurts!" she babbled, rocking back and forth slightly with pain. However as the kind girls words distracted her from the agony, she began to calm down, but only slightly. Tears still ran down Naomi's flustered cheeks, rosy from the cold. "A-alright..." she mumbled between stifled grunts as Lucia asked her to put her leg in the water. She hesitated, straining to lift her leg before inching it into the cold pond. "Ow!" she shouted, recoiling from the sting of the water hitting her wound. A tinge of red stained the ponds surface.

Wiping tears away, and pushing her hair away from her face, Mrs.Cassidy sat up finally after being comforted and calmed by the kind girl who had went off to help another. Hearing Mimi's voice, the rattled teacher realized this wasn't the time for mourning or sorrow. Finally she managed to pull herself to her feet. She looked down at the children who saved her and patted Mimi's head as she called out into the cavern. "C'mon. We have to s-start looking for a way o-out of here." Her voice was still shaking slightly, having not entirely recovered from the shock. "Lets go gather everyone up okay?"

"Owowowow!" squealed Naomi as the pain from the cold water hitting her exposed flesh tingled through her leg. However the sensation was slowly numbed away by the frigid pond. "Th-thank you..." Uttered Naomi finally after several moments of watching Lucia wash a few shreds of fabric to be makeshift bandages. The faint patches of dirt and dust washed away, bleeding through Lucia's fingers into the water and her reflection below, mixing with the faint swirls of crimson. However as she wrung out the cloths, she noticed something strange staring back up at her. It wasn't just her reflection. It almost looked like Mr.Connors staring blankly up at her.

A scream rang out near Lily and the two boys who came to assist her. It came from across the pond where Ginty and Ashton had landed. Another scream pierced the silence accompanied by the frantic splashing of water. A long fat, wart and saliva covered tongue several yards long was wrapped around Mary's ankle drawing her in, kicking and scream, toward the gaping maw of a giant bulbous amphibian. She cried out desperately, frantically clawing at the ground to no avail.

Suddenly A massive splash sent water flying through the air in a geyser as a massive bulging figure emerged from the depths of the pond. The spray soaked Lucia and Namoi. As the mist cleared, they could see a hulking form looming over them. A giant slimy frog of some sort. It's eyes bulged out as it let out a bellowing croak. As it did, it's stomach enlarged, and the contents within shifted. The girls could see it through the translucent skin on the creatures belly. The lifeless gaze of the late geology teacher staring hollowly at them. "Ribbit...Ribbit..." bellowed the monster, saying the word 'ribbit' in a muddled croaky tone.
