Attitude/Personality: It's difficult to exactly describe Lothar's personality to an outsider observer. His behavior rapidly changes depending on who he is talking to. One moment he could be cracking jokes while laughing heartily like a wise ass, but the next he could have a neutral, serious poker face that won't let you have a single hint about what he is thinking. However, there is one thing for sure. He has a reason to act in the way he chooses to, and he is always observing and probing people with his actions and behavior. Maybe the one word to describe his personality is adaptable.
Additional Info: James, as a child, was a bright kid who loved reading and learning. Although his parents were barely getting by day to day with menial jobs, they still managed to scrape enough together through the years to provide James with some books, and occasional access to private education. Still, he was bright enough and determined enough to continue his education by himself once he got out of school. He couldn't afford college, so he learned all by himself. He taught himself for years, but when he was 20 his academic abilities were eventually found out. Rumors spread about him through the area. Residents talked about a brilliant, self taught young man, who had an in depth knowledge of all subjects from politics and philosophy to agriculture and aerodynamics. These rumors spread until the company that owned the land that James' house resides on to him and "offered" a job. Of course, he couldn't say no unless he wanted the company to make living in his current house impossible. After all, it looked like James could escape the cycle of poverty his family was in if he did take the job. The first few years were rough. He worked long hours for practically little money. There were weeks where he had only slept a total of 15 hours. Still, he prevailed and he slowly but steadily was climbing the corporate ladder.
By the age of 27, he had made hundreds if not thousands of sales. He was a smooth talker for sure, and was part of the middle management. . He had enough money to finally start pursuing his dreams. He spent all his saved up cash to open up a small school in the neighborhood where he grew up. The school was only meant to charge just enough to function and provide cheap higher education. For once, things looked like they were going his way. He was a rising star in a corporation, and had enough money to give back to his community. Essentially, he was able to bring opportunity to some of the millions of the underprivileged children. It wouldn't make a huge change, but it was a step. Then, the foot of the colossus came stomping down on James' dreams. The mega-corporation that owned a majority of the private education industry was able to pull some strings in the government. A month after James' school opened, the land that his school stood on was being claimed by the federal government under the claim of eminent domain. His school was bulldozed and the ground was used to build a military watch tower. It was obvious that the system did not appreciate someone like James who was trying to change the status quo. Soon after his school was seized, James was fired from his position because he had "harmed crucial, financial relations". Thus, he was left with nothing. All his saved money went to the school, and he lost his job. A change from within wasn't happening any time soon in James' eyes. So, he decided that something from the outside had to be the catalyst that triggered true change and reform. That was why he joined the citizens.
