PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
11:47 P.M.
Philadelphia, the largest city in all of Pennsylvania.
The home of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall and other rich historical sites and settings.
Referred to as the "city of brotherly love" and home to the Philadelphia Eagles and other well known sports clubs.
A rich city of culture, class, heritage, and history, truly worthy of marveling.
The cities standard nightly routine of a lit up skyline and streets filled by hundreds, if not thousands, of well paced cars is suddenly and abruptly interrupted by a massive explosion that rips across the night sky, illuminating it in yellowish-red light.
The explosion engulfed a cluster of small buildings as well as surrounding cars, both parked and those driving as well.
A combination of screams, shouts, and alarms cuts through the night air of Philadelphia less than a minute after the explosion.
Flames are billowing up all around and people can be seen rushing about through the streets, as well as scrambling out of and away from the buildings that are engulfed in the inferno.

His gray eyes snapped open in the darkness of his bedroom.
He raised his head up from his pillow in a hurried fashion, and pushed the covers down from his stomach where they rested down to just below his knees.
The young man reached over and tried to click on the lamp on the night stand nearby.
Nothing.
He pulled the chain three or four more times, and still no response.
He glanced at the digital clock nearby, and saw that it was blank. Dead.
He grabbed up his phone which lay next to the lamp, he unhooked the charger and unlocked it, squinting his eyes to hear closure to read the time on the brightly lit screen.
12:12 A.M.
He clicked off his phone and yawned broadly and rather loudly.
Nothing could be seen of him in the pitch black room, only a silhouette at best.
As he turned his head he immediately noticed the shining through the closed curtains on the other side of the room.
He stood and wiped the sleepiness from his eyes as he ambled over to the window.
As he reached the window, he reached out with both hands and slid the curtains open.
He was met with the sight of a roaring yellow inferno in the distance, farther off in another district of the city, the massive column of flame writhed and twisted in the sky.
He could hear sirens and alarms in the distance, and also noticed the dark shape of a helicopter hovering hundreds of feet over the great blaze.
Another thing he noticed was that Philadelphia seemed to be nearly pitch black.
As he leaned against the window and observed, he counted that only around a dozen or so of the larger buildings and skyscrapers from his viewpoint had any kind of lighting.
Everything else was totally dark.
He lowered his gaze to the street four stories below the hotel he was staying in.
Blackness. Total darkness, no light from anywhere, even the street lights were out.
He didn't even see any cars.
"What in hell-fire...?" The words barely slipped from his mouth in the form of a whisper.
His thoughts were interrupted and he jumped abruptly as he heard a loud crash from the hallway outside, like that of glass breaking, followed by an ear splitting female scream.
This scream was accompanied by loud shouts and what sounded like grunting and huffing.
In fact it all sounded like it was right outside his door.
A bead of sweat ran down the young man's face.
He hustled away from the still exposed window and headed for his bag that sat at the foot of the bed when suddenly his room door began rattling and shaking violently.
The metal on the hinges and door knob clanked rapidly as the door seemed to be shaking and rocking.
The only thing worse than that was the frantic and savage sounding grunting and snarling that could be heard from the other side of the dark door...
