Nobo, can you add our CS's to the OP? I think I have a basic idea of how my bloke'd react to everyone but I wanna see if I missed anyone.

His 'merits' (which got him a role in the army), as I intended, have more to do with the police aspect of being an MP than the military one. Not that he /can't/ fight or that he doesn't /want/ to.

Oh, yeah, I just meant Curtis calling them 'merits' as in badges you get from the boy scouts as it fit the theme of old man yelling at kids who have it easier now'a'days :p

You mentioned that he doesn't go on the frontlines. I was guiding my question by that. I never mentioned he couldn't fight, just asked how he had gotten such merits (badges).

Also, what exactly is the military police he is in? Gendarmeries, provosts, National Guards? Because believe it or not, that is what defines the kind of training and experience your character has in combat.

Oh, I was thinking he'd be a provost.
As for medals, I misunderstood what Witty was saying. I didn't intend for him to /necessarily/ have a lot of badges.

I'd imagine the typical training regiment has changed since things fell to the four corners of the Earth (to avoid any confusion again, I'm referring to the 4 current Super Powers Curtis shall henceforth refer to as the Allies, the Damned French, Arabia and the 40 Thieves, and China) especially for men sanctioned to receive training.

The most powerful "military police" is by far the GCA.

What is the GCA then? Provost or Gendarmerie?

I don't know what that means.

Provo polices the military. Gendarmerie is a military group that polices civilians (Martial Law, basically)
So my character would be a provo, making sure allied soldiers obey the law.

A provost is an agency that only polices the military forces, a Gendarmerie (generally) polices both military forces and civilians.

Yet they're only a part of the US Military, I am sure that if a bunch of armies banded together and got organized enough, they'd easily take down the GCA, right? Let's hope the GCA knows their stuff enough to not be overly exposed to the public!

You know, come to think of, I think I'll have it so my character used to be in Awanas and a Boy Scout program (or whatever the equivalent is in this boyless world. Perhaps they just combined them with the girl scouts, making it 'the scouts').

If they attack the GCA then they attack the US ad it's allies. On their own they can take on smaller nations but not larger ones.

Well... After some thought, I choose to withdraw from the role play. I reserve rights to my character, so you shall not use her in any way. Good luck, have fun.

Not to be rude or anything, but in all technicality, you couldn't stop us.

I never intended to stop anyone. She had no orders, she was just trying to survive. That's one of the things I didn't like. Then little details that I came to be aware of after making the character that quickly put me off. This had, and has potential, and that's why I wish you good luck. I wouldn't have enjoyed it here, so I'm doing us all a favor by stepping out.
