Free States is a free market. Technology isn't unavailable to other kingdoms, they just don't have the industry to make it efficiently. Besides, medieval weapons don't rely on magic like most guns do. Some small factions have the ability to make real bullets but Gnomes can't carry all the much.

Most guns can use both. A custom gun would work, just remember that you have to actually make magic bullets yourself, they aren't persistent so you have to make them every fight at least. So you probably won't be able to use much more magic after that for awhile.

BACKSTORY

Orkan was born in the Great Kingdom of Red Land, a land which has been filled with so much blood over the past years that its ground became infested with it. Unlike others, the Blood Orcs, being immortal, were good smiting masters and good weapon masters, armor masters along with being good miners, they created the strongest armor and the deadliest weapons. Their main income was coming from the so-called infinite amount valuable crystals and such. Until one day, that resource has gone extinct and the Blood Orcs had no other choice than to attack the other Orcs races. With their heavy armor who had no consequence upon their speed since their mass of muscles helped them overthrow that weight and with their deadly weapons, they successfully waged war against the other Orcs. That war was called the Red Crusade, called by no other than Orkan, the leader of the Blood Orcs. During that Crusade, the Blood Orcs established a great fortune before fortifying their huge kingdom with the other orcs, in exchange of defense. Orkan now turned towards those puny Humans, and that Mana aspect, smelling further fortune.

BACKSTORY

Backstory

Marissa was the odd one out of her family from the day she was born. Pale skin and light hair caused the family of red-heads and brunettes to assume that she was an albino. They took the new baby to their resident Shaman, who concluded that she had inherited the vulpes zerda genes that her father carried. Content that they didn't have to abandon or drown the new infant, they gave her the name 'Marissa', a rather human-sounding name for a unique Vulpinian.

As Marissa grew older, she showed no interest in being a ranger or scout like the rest of her family. Since she had 3 older brothers who were natural hunters and scouts, her father (Tiptoe Fennix), was happy enough to let Marissa pursue her own dreams and fantasies.

Her mother (Swift Fennix) taught Marissa about the herbs and medicines of the forest. How to check for serious wounds or illnesses, stop a wound from bleeding excessively and prevent infection from taking hold. It was useful information that Marissa practised on her brothers regularly since they often came back from the forest with scrapes and the odd rash from a poisonous plant.

Besides that, it turned out that Marissa had more to her than just being able to mix medicines and bandage a scratch. At the age of 7, she began to have vicious night terrors. She would wake in the middle of the night screaming fighting off phantoms. Tiptoe and Swift tried everything they could to calm her down and wake her from the nightmares. They took her back to the Shaman who said that these nightmares were a sign. That's all the Shaman said. Just a vague answer that offered no closure or even a direction on where to take things next.

Marissa decided to take matters into her own hands. If the nightmares were signs, then what exactly did they mean? By the age of 10, she had started to ask the Shaman about interoperating dreams, which led to the topic of Oneiromancy. That caught Marissa's attention and she tried to gather all the information she could about the magic. There was more to it than just figuring out what dreams meant...

Once she had exhausted her Tribe's resources on Oneiromancy and healing, Marissa wanted to leave her tribe in pursuit of more knowledge. At this point, she had turned 14. Her mother hated the idea of her precious, only daughter leaving the tribe, especially at an age where she was maturing physically; worried that slavers would capture her. The pair of them argued very often about the idea of Marissa leaving the tribe. Once she turned 15, her father stepped into the debate and said that he thought it would be good for her to learn more about her dreams. (She was still having night terrors, but they had gotten better with age.) He said that the only places she was going to acquire more resources were outside; beyond the forest and that other families let their youngens explore past the forest. Swift eventually, begrudgingly agreed to the journey but on the insistence that she left with a strong companion and that Marissa would write often.

So Marissa began to travel with a scruffy Vulpinian named Badger. (It was a nickname he had picked up.) She got along with him very well. He was a good listener but not a very good talker. As the years went by, Marissa had learned how to stop her nightmares from being night terrors; she learnt how to read them and subdue them. She could give herself sweeter dreams and even help others who suffered from night terrors. Of course, she never forgot her medicines and herbs; as she travelled, she explored and discovered all sorts of flora she had never heard of before! She studied under various Healers depending on what town she was in, watching and comparing how each of them treated different injuries or symptoms. She always welcomed advice and eventually was able to give advice back, spreading different medicines and techniques.

It was at the age of 22 that Marissa and Badger finally came to the Free States, home of the Mages Guild. Feeling immediately at home, Marissa dived straight into her work and found joy in helping wanna-be adventures. She sold potions or patched up guild members after a mission.

A year later, Badger had left on a quick quest to gather very specific herbs and ingredients for Marissa. He never returned. Unable to fight off an attack by herself if she went searching for him, Marissa spent her coins on a contract with the Adventurer's Guild hoping a party woule be able to track Badger down. She tried to gather information on her own in the meantime but could not get any leads. It could have been anything that took or killed him; bandits, slavers, animals etc. Frustrated that the searches were bearing no fruit and with her coin-purse depleting quickly as she resorted to paying under the table for extra adventurers, Marissa now wants to find a group or at least another person she can join with to explore the shadier parts of the realm in hopes that Badger IS still alive and CAN be saved. She just needs to practice oneiromancy a little more and then maybe...

• Reaper - An enchanted M4A1 which has the capabilities of firingboth real and magic bullets. She is capable of wielding magic so she is able to incorporate her own magic to produce more magical bullets. This is customized so she can change the elements of the bullets by simply flicking a switch at the side of the gun. Slung on her shoulder, usually seen.
• Redeemer - A revolver that runs on both real and magic bullets as well. To change the elements of the bullets, one must reload the chamber with the element of your choice. It is kept at a holster on her hip. Sometimes hidden when her cloak is closed.
• Tenjin and Tenshin - Identical wakizashis that are usually hidden under her cloak at the back. She rarely uses them and is usually carried around as a memento of the two siblings she had been traveling with before.
• Several necessities

BACKSTORY

Adira was born and raised in the Free States. It was always a hub of activity - with all races coming together here to sell, to find someone or to simply mingle with others. Although, of course, the presence of the Mage's guild there did help with attracting aspiring mages there. Her parents had died when she was just five years old, forcing her to the streets and to fend for herself. Of course, the first thing that Adira had decided to do was to try and beg for money. She managed to scrap through life like this, going around and begging for money and sometimes helping out so that she could earn money for food. At night, she would hide under stalls, or anything that could put a roof above her head and sleep there. For some reason or another, she never did resort to stealing. She never knew why, and admittedly, she kind of regretted it.

When she was ten years old, she was found by a bunch of gnomes. She didn't know what they were but they didn't seem to mind. They asked her if she wanted to live with them for a while and she, of course, accepted. They were surprisingly smaller than her, even if she was simply a kid who is also a girl. But when she arrived at their house, it fit her perfectly. She found out a lot about life and learned from the gnomes. Magic was something she learned from them as well. She stayed with them for another ten years, learning what she can from forging to magic manipulation.

Upon reaching twenty years of age, she began taking quests from the guild to travel. The gnomes sent her away with smiles and guns. She met Tenjin and Tenshin through this job. They started travelling together after finding out that they were doing well when fighting together. Thus started their adventures. The feeling of your heart beating against your chest like a rhythmic drum, facing a monster that you hope to exterminate... that feeling was something Adira treasures. It just gives her life a purpose. Seeking the thrill of adventure was something that was true for her.

However, as she reached her twenty fourth year in this world, something went wrong. Tenshin and Tenjin decided to go on an adventure together and left Adira by herself. They wanted to bond as twins after all and Adira respected that. She did easier quests, quests that she can handle by herself. Months passed and they didn't return. She grew worried. One night, someone knocked on her door. She opened to see Tenshin, injured and dying. She tried to help as best she can, calling healers to aid Tenshin but he was doomed to die. He told her of what had happened, how the monster had jumped them while they were sleeping on their way home and how he managed to get out because of Tenjin's sacrifice. Tenshin didn't want to leave Adira wondering what happened to them so he managed to trudge on, holding onto life just by sheer will. So he died on the bed a few hours later.

Adira seemed undeterred in her quest for seeking thrilling adventures, even with the weight of her two friends' death. But she always remembered them by carrying around the wakizashis Tenshin use. She will always remember them and has made it her goal to find the monster and kill it as revenge. Until then, however, she will continue working for the guild. After all, recklessly searching for that monster would only result to her ending up like her two friends. She's also waiting for a group to help her in her quest but she never did post a request for it. She wants to get stronger first.

@Marshall Welp, here ya go. Went in a slightly different direction than I first though it was, but she's done. Also, just to be sure what exactly is Decay Magic?

Lia

Lia has a slender, lithe build though she has fairly well toned muscles on her frame. She has long, black hair typically tied into twintails with bright yellow eyes and typical pointed ears of her people. She normally wears airy, light weight clothing with long boots and short pants, with a belt holding various pouches of items and other things. Typically, her appearance is concealed under a simple cloak, making it difficult for someone to see anything other than her facial features. An odd blue colored gem seems to be embedded in her chest.

Her body, seems to always have stitches or other parts simply seemed to be sewed on.

-Minor, self taught proficiency in Decay Magic. Nothing all that special, mind you and it is fairly exhausting for her to use in any capacity.

A: As long as a part of her body is connected to the Resurrection Runestone, she can live. Just sew an arm or severed limb back on and it'll be good to go....mostly.
B: Healing isn't that easy. She doesn't exactly heal wounds through natural means. She can do it, but it just happens much more slowly and being healed Via magic is the easiest way for her to do it. As of now, she has yet to really have any trouble with this.
C: She doesn't need to eat, drink, nor sleep. Though, she can enter a state similar to sleeping to pass time.
D: Has some odd...cravings every now and then

EQUIPMENT

-Needles and sewing equipment for 'Keeping it together'. Undead do not exactly heal well, even from minor scrapes.
-Various small knives hidden on her person, used for throwing. Incredibly sharp, and deadly if you get hit with one. With her nimble, dexterous hands and accuracy she can reliably hit someone in the head from quite a distance away even while moving.
-Two large curved Kukri, her main choice of physical combat. Sharp, sturdy, and effective for deflecting blows as well as stabby stabby things.

BACKSTORY

Lia doesn't remember much about herself - not even her real name. Her first memories are of both pain and terror, smelling some noxious stench, and the sound of dripping water from a rusty pipe. Her second, is of the person who gave her her name. He was her 'father' or 'creator' as he called himself. The person who breathed life back into a corpse with a Runestone of Ressurection. Something he made himself, after many, many years of study and hours of labor. She, was to be the first of many of his creations, as well as a research tool into necromancy and undeath.

Unfortunately for him, he had no actual control over his creation.

Scared, confused, terrified, and perhaps more than a little unhinged, her third memory is of her she brutally murdered the mage in quite the horrific fashion. Having no knowledge of the outside world, herself, or anything else she remained in his lab, clueless as to what she should do or who she even was. Some months passed, and she managed to get a grip, so to speak. She had made herself a small home in the former lab, and was more or less comfortable and passed the time reading the mages old magic tomes and other books.

It was then, a small group of adventurers managed to find their way into the former lab - hearing rumors of not so morally correct research and other things, they were dispatched to take care of this mage. To their surprise, all they were met with was a terrified elf with an odd runestone implanted in her chest. Seeing the mages dead body and how exactly he died, they decided to take the elf with them for a bit of questioning as well as to find out who exactly she was.

For the next year, was about as happy as she ever had been. Understanding both what she was and that she had absolutely no knowledge of the outside world - she could hardly even speak in complete sentences. Plus, the value of the thing keeping her alive was enough for a number of people to want her head. They taught her to read, write, speak, and she learned to defend herself from this small band of adventurers. Unfortunately, greed brings out the worst in people more often than not and a trap and a betrayal later, from a man and former comrade by the name of Alastor, her friends were dead and once again, she was alone. She barely managed to escape from him, losing an arm and taking out one of his eyes in the process.

The next years, were rather hard. Aside from having to find a new arm that looked roughly similar to her old one and sewing it back on, she didn't have much else to go. Alastor would likely still want to get his mitts on her, and that would almost certainly end in death. So she left the adventurers guild, deciding to travel for a time. She bettered her skills, learning to control her body and acrobatics much better, as well as learning how to use magic in a much more proficient fashion.

Unfortunately, she spent most of this time traveling alone. She was betrayed by someone she considered a friend once, and he killed her friends and almost her - all for some stupid stone. So she kept to herself as she traveled, deciding to wear a cloak to hide both her injuries as well as the stone that was keeping her alive. She had to kill more than a few people who were too greedy for their own good, and not sleeping or being able to relax for long periods simply became natural.

Years passed though, and she eventually decided she wanted to settle things with Alastor. Besides, money was scarce and tight, stealing and contract killing could only get one so far before things got out of hand. So she eventually made her way back to the guild. She isn't particularly looking forward to working with others, but if she has too...well, she suppose she might give them another shot.

@Rune_Alchemist You need some serious healing magic lol. The highest most expensive kind can just knit cells back together regardless of whether they're alive or not lol. Sewing wounds will be a useful talent though. Congrats on not having anything I found wrong.

Decay/Life magic is nearly inseparable. Life magic increases the cellular growth rate and can effect how those cells behave. Decay literally makes cells die but usually requires a lot of Mana.
