Just you wait until my guys get onboard a ship. It'll be worshipping posters and statues of the Emprah and going Wh40K-ork levels of ship ramming into xeno rustbuckets.
I'm just thinking of how to make everything into wide spread propaganda... Nothing right now would adversely affect the empire except for maybe what's happening on Xythae, since the planet still has 20% Human population, the planet wide bombardment of the surface would also affect them, at least that's what I'm thinking, unless there's something that would protect them from that, 20% is still pretty huge in population and plus he didn't mention whether the local Human population was also exterminated in the process of the coup.
EDIT: BTW if it is confirmed that there are still humans on the planet I will intervene with a post ;)
@6slyboy6 Wildman said that he won't be able to post for a while due to the fact that he's in the province, the internet is pretty bad, he can't even log into RPguild.
So this is my application, I hope it's okay. Introducing.... Communists! Anyone is free to join, you must only swear an oath that you given your complete support to the Democratic Socialist Union of the Free :P
"We dream of a universe with one people, strong and proud, united to work for the Great Cause." ~First Premier Nikolai Xiaolong Ping
Type of Government Communist Militant movement
Description of Government: Appealing to the young and easily persuaded, the D.S.U.F's leadership is shrouded in general confusion. The idea of "communism" and the "left wing" are concepts that are hard to understand to people who live in an authoritarian state, especially one so rooted in it's ideals. The Council, a group of 200 humans, droids and aliens, control the movement and function like how a normal communist state would run. Each of these councillors are in a leading role within the D.S.U.F. This varies from military officers to wealthy merchants that support the cause. The most influential councillor, both inspiring and ruthless, takes the stage as the Premier. This person will lead and guide the movement with advise from the Council, controlling the limited amount of resources, manpower and wealth. They are the representative, the one that must lead the movement with a strict hand. All members must answer to their orders and their role as leader is absolute until arrest, death or political revolution.
Main Race: Humans
Minority Races:
The Layans are a species of mono-gendered near-human xenos originating from the Laya II system. They are a short race, the average individual reaching a height of 1.52 meters without including their antennae and hair. They have humanoid looking features, feminine and alluring to both males and females (who aren't blinded by Imperial teachings). Their skin is soft to the touch and are like humans however dead skin cells are uncommon with callouses being rarer. They possess both male and female sexual organs and gametes. Male gametes can be transferred when two Laya touch their krei together. The krei are the pair of antennae-like organs that both act as a sensor and contains both reproductive systems. The process of fertilisation all the way to birth of the child takes 9 standard months to finish. Remarkably, due to the sheer diversity of mutations and genotypes in the species, this mono-gendered species has not fallen into the trap of cloning themselves which would lead to extinction.
Unusually, to the eternal puzzlement of biologists, they still evolved with several erogenous zones around their body. Pleasure, attraction and emotion would normally be out of place for mono-gendered species but like always, the Layans break this rule. They have superior sensing capabilities, using movement and heat signatures but have poor eyesight. Possessing a genetic grace, they can move quickly without making a sound. They have a higher average intelligence and similar strength as a human. All of these superior genetic traits are restricted by their numbers. Numbering in the few thousands, living in asylum and fear of persecution, they would be considered a near-extinct species. Due to this, many of them rely on the D.S.U.F to provide them with protection and shelter. Preferring the familiarity of communism, they joined the movement in the hopes of possible revive meant of their fallen species.
Built by the extremist left to boost their numbers, these complex AI make a large chunk of D.S.U.F personnel. There is no standardisation, most of them were created uniquely to the design of their creator. The creation of artificial intelligence was first brought up by the First Premier Nikolai during the start of the movement. With less than a thousand supporters, he needed to find a way to create more manpower equal or better to the average human being. The creation of these AI was a slow development, aided by whatever scientist and engineer they could hire who was willing to create these androids. In the passing of the First Premier, the first android was born. Designed to look like humanoid with superior sensors, physicality and weapons training, it was a roaring success. Named "Marx" by Nikolai on his deathbed, the android was the first of it's kind. It was capable of complex thought and emotions. Labelled a "he", he was taught the ideals and dreams of the D.S.U.F and became the Second Premier.
The creation of these androids became common knowledge amongst core engineers and scientists. Any personnel caught telling the processes of their creation to any unauthorised persons were caught and killed. Every android created were named and cared for like parents by excited tinkerers. There was an explosion of D.S.U.F sympathisers in the form of these metal people. However, due to a fear of these androids taking over the movement, the Council has decided to put a cap on how many androids can be created and function. Currently, they make up 30% of the movement's personnel and provide loyal soldiers, engineers, teachers and leaders. Distrust and fear has somewhat alienated these metal-men from the more organic elements of the communists. But, the envisioned dream of "One Nation, One People" by the founders is shared by all followers and thus has somewhat smoothened relations.
Demography: 55% Human
- 50% Russino heritage - 50% Mixed
30% Android 15% Alien
- 90% Layan - 10% Mixed
Religion: Atheistic/Agnostic/Varied
Culture: The teachings of the D.S.U.F directly oppose most of what the Empire teaches young ones. Worship of the Emperor is forbidden but common, many recruits have to be taught the importance of self-enlightenment and fighting for the people. Because most members join with pre-existing grudges against the Empire, integration of new recruits aren't too difficult. To get them used to alien's and AI however is a whole other story. The movement functions as a triad force, three arms working together to achieve the dreams of their founder. They must work together as a collective, working for the Cause so that one day the Triangulum galaxy is united under the people, not one man. Each recruit is taught the importance of tolerance and abandonment of xenophobia. This is where some potentials drop out, unwilling to believe that the alien scum can be worked with. These drop outs are dispatched of the next day, hidden away and buried. Afterwards, recruits must abandon any discrimination and learn to fight, work and bleed for the movement and not the Empire.
The Reds, after basic recruitment training and a couple of months in, have a strong sense of unity with each other. They fight for the Cause and they die for the Cause, ignoring the imperial propaganda. Something which most imperial citizens do not understand. The Great Cause is a set of ideas that the movement are fighting for. They include, but are limited to, these ideas:
Reforming Triangulum under a communist regime
Uniting both xenos, humans and androids alike under the People
Every organic is equal, there is no discrimination and xenophobia
All services and businesses are owned by the government, in extension of the people
The poor shall become equal with the wealthy
The communists are repressed for what they are. As a movement who vouches for government reformation, it is seen as more of a terrorist organisation than a political group. As such, militarisation and arming of every Red was important, no matter the cost. This has led to the violence many of them are prone to, something that the Third Premier is trying to stem currently. Alcoholism and drug use are common, many of the new generation are students. Young and prideful, they are easily riled up and blinded by their idealism. Many veterans grow tired of scolding them and the divide between the young and old has grown. The Androids are concerned for their human and Layan counterparts. They serve as mediators and work with the Council to unite the organic arms of the Triad once more. The D.S.U.F is spread throughout ten different systems, each system holding varying amounts of Council leadership and manpower. The non-human members hide themselves in merchant ships and the Red Fleet. Most human Reds continue living their lives as Imperial citizens, silently working for the eventual rise of the Far-Left.
History: The Democratic Socialist Union of the Free started with the dreams and inspirations of one man. Nikolai Xiaolong Ping came from one of the earlier human colonies during the rise of the Free Planets. Around his birth, empires and nations united and fought against might of the Empire. He was a quiet child, content with silently pondering in the corner rather than playing with peers. Perhaps this was because of his father, a studious and hard working scholar in the local government. Like most Imperial citizens, the Ping family held little power but had a moderate amount of wealth. His mother was also an assistant of the planetary governor in Vladivostok Prime, the planet they were residing in. It was a fringe colony, serving as a minor agricultural/port world supplying food for many Imperial ships flying in and out from the eastern war. Some ships were repaired and upgraded in the port city of New Blagoveshchensk, the planet's capital. The slight Russino majority could trace back their roots to early Russo-Sino relations, back in the home planet they have long forgotten about.
Vladivostok Prime was located on one of the southernmost system of the galaxy, a fringe world that contained little value after the war. After the fall of the Alliance and the scattering of their species', it's use as a port world became obsolete. Little traffic travelled through these systems and the only people who had ships around there was the garrisoned navy. It suffered from immense poverty, famine and corruption officials. Although, it was more well off than it's neighbour. Manila Industrial was a factory world of little importance after the war and was exterminated for it's constant democratic revolutions. Thoughts of any revolution on Vladivostok was quickly hidden in the shadows, whispering behind Imperial backs. Nikolai was eighteen when the first and last protest happened, a mob of hungry farmers from other provinces marching upon the walls of New Blagoveshchensk. He watched from his class window as they were slaughtered to the last man, snow turning crimson.
Information on the slaughter was heavily censored and the teachers made students swear an oath to the emperor never to speak of it. Nikolai became quieter, more withdrawn during those years. His parents were busy people, worried for their son but too overworked to try and take care of him. They communicated through notes on their front door. They would always leave an "I love you, have a good day" after leaving in the morning. He would always reply with "I love you too, I hope you have one too" and left it at that. They wouldn't have realised this but this small sliver of communication was something that he cherished. He loved his mother and father, like any good Russino child did. Of course he wished they would spend more time with him but he understood. He was wiser than his peers, understanding that they needed to work so that he could keep his education. Many of his old classmates had to quit school to work so that they could support their families.
Nikolai, at 21, would only find out about their deaths two days after the fact. Two days after the notes stopped coming. Two days after the money stopped flowing into the household. Another terrorist attack was conducted on the local Governor's home and offices, killing both his parents. A family friend from his father's work adopted the boy but did nothing but put a roof over his head. Resenting his accommodation and drunkard of a host, he set out by himself and applied as a teacher in the local school. As one of the most learned local men in the planet, he was accepted and placed as the education board's Head Teacher. It was here that the future Premier would find his calling and envision the D.S.U.F.
Communism was an unknown concept at the time to the normal imperial citizen. As Head Teacher on a planetary education board, Nikolai had access to the main Imperial library database. Interested in the history of his people, the few days in his new position was spent looking through old copies of confidential but unimportant textbooks. One day, he paused over an unknown book labelled #DAX9087 on the catalogue. Marked as "unsalvageable", it was a data copy of loose pages found in the Milky Way. With his interests piqued, he started skimming the pages, realising that there were two books merged into one whole. Nikolai spent days reading through the books and arranging the pages in the correct order. He was absolutely fascinated by the concepts given in these texts. The left wing, socialism and communism were political ideas unknown to him but he studied them with frightening devotion. He believed that this was the solution to the problems of Triangulum. The Emperor was not the way, the one party state was.
Realising the ideas of the Great Cause, Nikolai set to work. As an educated man with studious, hardworking behaviour and good looks, he inspired many students in New Blagoveshchensk. The movement started with a small manpower, his most loyal students becoming his own revolutionists. Everyone had enough of the imperial officials and although many people believed the Emperor as their God, his chosen underlings left much to be desired. In a derelict basement classroom, a dozen boys and girls in their teenage years listened to the First Premier tell them about his concept. And this was when the New Communists was founded, on the backs of poor idealistic students amongst one of the most repressive regimes in the universe. Progress was slow from then on but it was steady. Much of the student population who was still in school were a part of the growing movement, carrying red stars in their pockets to show allegiance. Their peers in the working force started joining in, spreading rumours of a new revolution growing in popularity on the planet.
Now numbering the thousands, the movement was starting to crumble under it's own weight. There was no organisation and some members made their allegiance a little too public for comfort. The Empire military quickly cracked down and arrested anyone carrying the red star, student or otherwise. The movement faltered and failed, crashing under it's own popularity. Having remained apart from the growth of the New Communists, Nikolai decided to redraw his plans to create another movement that focused more on quality control. On the ashes of his failed revolution, the D.S.U.F was formed and would become better than his wildest dreams. He kept his numbers low, keeping it in the hundreds with encrypted communications between members. Recruits must act like they were imperials out of any meetings and operations. The man also created the Council and laid the foundations of tolerance, rising to power as the First Premier.
As the D.S.U.F grew in influence and manpower, Nikolai expanded his resources with advice from the Council. Deals were struck and a Navy captain who had sympathy for their cause let a chosen few travel to a planet of the Premier's choosing. Old freighters stuck in the atmosphere of Manila Industrial were repaired by former port workers, showing the engineering prowess of Vladivostok Prime's Russino population. with one of the Empire's greatest enemies. The meeting of the Layans and their integration has long been shrouded in mystery as to how they contacted these first few freighters but they were welcomed as one of the Free People. Other xenos came to join as well, hearing rumours of xeno-sympathising revolutionists. As the movement grew outwards and into other systems, manpower became increasingly important. The development of the creation of the first communist artificial intelligence marked the end of his reign.
There was a brief power struggle before the newly created Marx took the title of Second Premier. Intelligent and cunning, the android had none of the charming Nikolai persona. Instead, he led through calculated movements and focused on slowing the growth of the movement to focus on other things. He focused internally, wanting to mix the three arms found in the Union. Under his rule, the divisions between species and the inorganic became obvious. He authorised the creation of more androids but knew the uneasiness that existed about his kind. He capped the growing number of androids off under the pressure of the Council. The restriction of the movement's reach meant a focus on building power. More weapons, equipment, freighters and resources were bought and stockpiled during Marx's reign than any other. With more power came more Imperial attention and violence. The D.S.U.F became more militant and was armed but still catered to young students.
A malfunction in Marx's energy core was found. The Council told the People that he chose to deactivate himself, rather than be stuck in his defunct metal body. Another power struggle occurred. Some were outraged at the Second Premier's death, accusing the Council of "killing" him off. Despite this, a Third Premier was chosen. Anastasia Wu-Grigorovich is the current Premier of the D.S.U.F. Tensions are high amongst the movement, human recruits and veterans clashing heads. The fall of Marx is highly suspicious and whether or not the current leader had anything to do with it is still suspect. Despite this, the new leader is idealistic and charming, a people's leader. She calls for unity once more so that they may spread their influence further. Growth and morale is at an all-time, many people thinking that a new golden age may be starting. Whether the Union shall rise or fall in the coming years is yet to be answered.
The Third Premier, Anastasia Wu-Grigorovich: The newest Premier of the D.S.U.F, Anastasia has much on her shoulders. After the controversial reign of Marx, she is the second human to hold the title. She is from the Russino-majority planet of Guangzhou V in the Han system. Born in a household similar to First Premier Nikolai, she was well-fed and quite rich. Guangzhou V is a successful mining colony near the local asteroid belt. Although the threat of asteroids killing everyone on the planet exists, the promised riches is too much to ignore for some. Unlike the founder, she is passionate and boisterous. She is inspirational to both recruit and veteran alike. Many look up to her as the herald of a new golden era. Her promotion of growth and wealth follows what the People want. As pressure builds in the movement, the movement threatens to blow into a revolution. Whether the Third Premier will support or repress this excitement, we have yet to tell. She is currently in hiding on one of the various Red Asteroid Outposts (R.A.O) with her sister.
General-Admiral Zhedong: Loyal and everlasting, Zhedong is one of the smartest and most cunning military leaders at present time. The second artificial intelligence created after the reign of Nikolai and the rise of Marx, the android has been a steadfast military/intelligence advisor ever since. Quickly overtaking his organic counterparts in intelligence and wittiness, he decided to take the persona of a wiseman, constantly quoting unknown and obscure proverbs. Despite this somewhat foolish act, he has shown himself to be a capable leader and can inspire human, android and xeno alike. He has a fierce passion for war and many believe it is the reason he has not ascended into Premiership yet. He has stood in the firing lines with boots on the ground and commandeered his own stolen xeno ship called Through the Meadow, Into the Shadow, We Bring Thunder and Lightning. Unlike many first generation AI, he has not fallen prey to a malfunctioning energy core. Instead, he stands tall and proud as one of the greatest beings in D.S.U.F. He has stepped down from the position of intelligence officer to make way for a newcomer.
Third Intelligence Officer Natasha Wu-Grigorovich Although the "government" of the D.S.U.F is a mere mockery of one, the First Premier insisted that positions that exist in a nation should exist in the movement. Natasha Wu-Grigorovich, sister to the current Premier, was appointed there by her sister unbeknownst to most of the People. In truth, only the Council knows of the position's existence. As the older of the two, she is much more mature and takes things seriously most of the time. She handles many of the front businesses and chains that fund Red operations. Dealing with cutthroat merchants and businessmen all the time makes you jaded and cynical. She also collects any "dirt" or blackmail on the councillors, to make sure that they "stay in line" as it were, knowing the truth of what happened between them and Marx. The CEO's, businessmen and merchant traders that are on the Council are there because of her, investors who have been assured that the movement was worthwhile. Through her economic wit, her appointment directly leads to the success of the D.S.U.F.
A normal communist operative returning to base with objective in tow
The Navy and Army of the D.S.U.F is a tiny force in the large galaxy. They must hide in asteroid belts and in-between system voids to avoid detection. Made up of a collection of stolen fighters and carrier-freighters, they have little in the way of BFGs. Instead, the Navy relies on their considerable amount of fighter wings to do the job for them. Whether old De'rma-class fighters or newer imperial versions, they do most of the space fighting. The freighters that carry them are mostly Gargarin-class, ships found abandoned near Manila Industrial. Patched up and fitted with whatever engine they can find, these freighters are turned into makeshift landing/carrier ships. Slow and cumbersome, they are tough to shoot down but are easy targets for any captain. This is why Admiral-General Zhedong teaches his captains to make fighter screens, to make sure that the freighters aren't hit too hard. There are currently one stolen xeno destroyer, ten freighters and over a hundred fighters with flight crew and pilot.
The Army isn't much of a bigger force either. Every basic combat personnel in the D.S.U.F can be called an operative. They function in squads of twelve to twenty, each having a call sign to go under. These squads rarely team up together, in fear that any severe losses could mean loss of important technology. The average operative is given a suit of armour or a basic uniform, depending on the resources at the time. Weapons are not standard and low quality weapons are given to basic recruits while veterans get better gear. The Army, while also used as strike teams, are mostly used as garrison forces. R.O.A's or Red Asteroid Outposts, are the bases found within the various asteroid belts in the systems with large D.S.U.F presence. They guard these bases, usually built within a particularly big asteroid, from any Imperial raids or pirates. They can also be found wearing Imperial civilian clothes, working undercover or protecting secret Union meeting places. The Army, at least Jinping claims, numbers in the few hundreds but many reserve supporters can be called so this number can rise to a couple thousand.
Technology: It is limited to whatever the D.S.U.F can buy, salvage or afford to produce. Android production has been slowed to make way for arms buying, to make sure that all personnel have weapons to protect themselves with. Any salvageable xeno/Imperial technology is turned to raw materials or converted under their cause.
@SgtEasy Well I'm more of a movement for the freedom of the people to choose their path. So it might or might not go well together... Depends on how we interact I think.
@6slyboy6 Sorry for not posting and answering for a while I was busy with some IRL problems but I should be able to posts more now that I have a more relaxed schedule.
