Extra points if you use a ton of unnecessary verbiage to pad out the argument.

I think what Dynamo is inferring is, don't put all left wing stereotypes on people whom you see as leftists. If you're talking to Dynamo, then speak to Dynamo and only hold him to account of things he has said, not an entire ideal/party that he/she might not be apart of. Then again, I think Harbinger is guilty of this a lot more than anyone. But then again, if he didn't go off topic and make assumptions on people based on a Trump news site, he wouldn't write 9 paragraphs each post.

I mean for the sake of manners if you're going to ping someone its probably best that you're representing their ideas fairly. If you want to make broad statements just do it in rant/monologue form like doggo or cat man usually do.

I always quote my jumping-off point. It's like Whose Line, except my points do matter.

And again, just so we're on the same page -- the milk thing was never a real anything at any point ever. The people you saw doing it were having a laugh. I thought you should know.

This is what I call a dangerous couple.

I mean poohead is absolutely right, about not applying broadstrokes, I do think everyone to some extent dips into occasionally, but Harbinger is my friend, and his long form of writing is sort of how he talks all the time whether it be on politics or not, so I tend not to judge him in this thread.

That's all well and good. I'm not generalizing on purpose and if I'm not mistaken, I've owned up immediately every time I do it. What I'm not gonna do is swing by the thread, see a post about "No, the people I see who did the milk meme totally WERE racists though," and pretend that the other 23 hours of my day didn't happen and I don't already know better.

I mean I know what a meme is, and I know what a white nationalist is, and I know what a meme being used by a white nationalist is. So uh thanks for the added reminder.

I suppose what I said did sound needlessly harsh. I got nothing against him in general. I just know I've had points before and have had them lost in things I never said when talking to him.

That's fair enuff, tbh.

I mean not all of them were, but some certainly were, and that's exactly what I said. Why you have a need to make a counter point to objective truth makes no sense.

There are left wing fools who think that milk is actually racist now but no one in this goddamn thread is one of those people, so its kinda pointless to fight with the ghost of leftist past for no damn reason.

Indeed! It is the ghost of leftist future that gets you.

Somewhat more seriously though, I find it very difficult not to generalize when it comes to conservatives. I've joked before about playing conservative bingo but there is a kernel of truth to it. People run so hard towards my preconceptions sometimes. I guess we could all work harder on evaluating people in their own terms, rather than putting them into boxes.

"Extra points if you use a ton of unnecessary verbiage to pad out the argument."

Oh?

Were you expecting an apology from me about the way I speak, let alone type, or implying that should I change it? I wish you good luck in your hopes - try not to hold your breath in awaiting it to change. Many have, they've failed all the same. No less, I willingly choose to be excessively clear, to a purposeful fault. Thus if anyone walked away with the belief I assumed @Dynamo Frokane was or is a stereotypical Leftist, or another member, based on this past conversation then that is hilariously wrong. Yet... if you really want my opinion in bullet format, I will nail that down for you if all you do is ask, but rest assured it is bound to not make much sense.

Regardless, the assumptions I make on those present here, let alone anyone else, are based on a totality of what I know about them or the angle they are approaching with. In short, if you are one of those who has a habit of irritating me, yes, I will try even better to understand you so as to purposefully dismantle you and your argument; even more if I find you have no actual argument. I have admitted to this tactic when we were discussing some of our more problematic users in the past. But in general, until you get down to the very specifics and details, it is regularly hard to really ascertain and understand a person's opinion on anything; one word or phrase might mean many different things to others. For example, I certainly did not expect my phrase, "I immediately ignored it..." to go off in the angle it did with the rest of the conversation, let alone all of that about Allsup; that was a misunderstanding, which is fair and bound to happen inevitably. I am not frothing at the mouth that I kept rewording what I was saying.

As for losing points or not following ones you might value, that's usually accidental. The only time I do so intentionally is if I am pressed for time.

"Wouldn't it just be easier to write less?" Yes, yes it would, but compulsions, especially those subconscious, are difficult to break; I was not joking when I said many have tried to break me out of my peculiar methods in speech or writing. It only goes back to the earlier point that if I miss something, or you would just rather not read it, just request it of me. I am going to oblige how I can, even if I am not fond of you or your philosophy. I am not actively out to accuse anyone of any specific political policies and any of my opposition to opinion is not an attack on your person either, it is just a contrary, if that, point of view.

My apologies interrupting the sexual orientation robots. This is the internet after all, so I am aware just how important this might actually be.
