Name: Hikari KiyoshiSex: Male
Age: 24
Race: Three-Eyed Human
Physical Appearance: Not gonna lie, I looked for any good triclops image, and the only one that even vaguely looked like a fighter was... Tien Shinhan. So, slightly limited as far as images go, but I'll provide a "close enough" image if somebody can figure out what basis I went with for the description. In any case, Kiyoshi is light-skinned and black-haired, keeping the latter in a short
chonmage topknot, and has the same central forehead eye as any other Three-Eyed Person, or human hybrid descendant thereof, accompanying sterner eyes in the regular positions on a face that could be described as "square-jawed". Covering a lean and well-built physique of around 1.75m in height is a long white
gi trimmed in grey, tied round his waist with a white
obi, and wooden
geta sandals on his feet; beneath this are white cloth strips tightly binding his lower body down to his shins, essentially keeping him decent even if his robe is removed. He also tends to wear a straw
jingasa, tied under his chin to keep it on, though this is often removed in a proper fight such as what he believes he will encounter in the WMAT.
Personality: Kiyoshi could certainly be considered the strong, silent type. He is stoic and solitary in general, yet unfailingly polite when he speaks to others, and quite generous on top of this, dispatching sage-like wisdom to those who require guidance, and assistance to those in need even at his own expense. He is typically patient and calm, maintaining his wits and a rational outlook even in bizarre circumstances, and clever enough to strategise, plan, or improvise around most situations. Despite this, it is not completely impossible to rile or confuse him, flaws in his persona that he seeks to eliminate as soon as he can, and oddly enough, he maintains a poor understanding of more advanced technology, whether through reluctance or simple inability to use most of it properly.
History: Kiyoshi's birth into a small town of three-eyed humans was not particularly notable. Indeed, most of his early years were not particularly notable other than as stepping stones for his general personality traits. Yet were it not for his father, he may not have been born at all - for a powerful demon had menaced the town shortly before he was born, threatening to destroy it had the elder Hikari not stepped forward. As the tale was related to him at the age of ten, Kiyoshi's father defeated the demon, but could not finish it off, and so sacrificed much of his energy to trap it in the town's sacred temple, weakening himself greatly in the process. Even then, it struggled to escape, and Kiyoshi's father feared his own death would mean the demon's release, and his town's destruction.
Kiyoshi refused to allow that to happen. Then and there, he vowed to the world and his parents that he would grow strong, strong enough to destroy the demon, even before his father left this life. The seriousness of such a vow was not lost to his parents, and within a week, he began his martial arts training. For the next five years, he trained, almost to the exclusion of other forms of education, and in the process developed a strong sense of martial honour, though as with any teenager, he was wont to rashness and rapid irritability. Many times, he insisted he was powerful enough to destroy it, only to be rebuffed for his haste, and though he respected his family's wishes, he frequently considered going to the temple and breaking the demon's seal himself, an act that in hindsight would have spelled doom for himself and everybody else. He reached the age of fifteen with martial knowledge at about the limits of what the town's best fighters could grant him, and frustratingly, his mother and father still insisted he was too weak to destroy the demon alone.
The solution, they explained, must come from outside sources. They proposed that Kiyoshi head into the wider world, to learn and grow stronger beyond what his home could provide. Though unpleased with the notion- if his father died whilst he was gone, who would destroy the demon?- Kiyoshi ultimately agreed, and set out on a journey of almost a decade. In search of other masters to learn from, he fought many a foe, good and evil, with both victories and losses under his
obi... in time, he learned a number of martial arts moves and stances from various sources, and grew far more selfless and patient than he had been, for he had come to understand in his newfound worldliness that there would always be others who needed saving: his own desires weren't always most important, even with regards to his hometown's survival.
And yet, though his father's death was unlikely to happen any time soon, the prospect of the demon breaking free constantly niggled away at Kiyoshi. Was he strong enough to defeat it, if the time came? He couldn't say, for he had never sensed its energy personally... but, he could test his strength. He'd recently heard that a major fighting tournament would be starting shortly, the 20th iteration of the World Martial Arts Tournament, sometimes named "Strongest Under The Heavens" for deciding who in the world was currently the strongest alive. Though the monetary prize and title of Champion didn't mean much to him, he felt that success here would prove that he was, so to speak, as powerful as he could hope to be when it came to demon-slaying. And, well, the Heavens themselves supposedly acknowledging the victor was as good an omen as any in his favour.
Common Techniques- True Seeing - The third eye of Kiyoshi's race provides a wide range of perceptive abilities, at least when unclouded by evil. Its presence alone, available even to the evil-blinded of his kind, allows the bearer to observe movement far more efficiently than any human could, each of his eyes moving separately to see through the afterimage an opponent might create. In its fullest state, as Kiyoshi possesses, it allows the bearer to look past the falsehoods of his foe, tearing away illusions and alternate forms alike; detect ki via a rudimentary visual "image", which Kiyoshi has long since developed into true ki sensing; mimic the techniques of others after seeing them used even once; and with enough focus, even grants split-second glimpses of potential futures, which the bearer can act upon or try to avoid as they deem fit, though Kiyoshi himself is only barely capable of utilising this ability, almost considering it dishonourable to do so.
- Ki-Matter Conversion - A throwback to their alien ancestors, the unique physiology of three-eyed humans grants them access to techniques based around temporarily converting their ki into physical matter, which are, to say the least, extraordinarily difficult for normal humans to mimic. The two most common abilities of this sort are the Four Witches Technique, where the user grows two extra arms from their back to fight with, and the Multi-Form Technique, a complex power that creates up to three additional bodies that the user can control alongside their original body, at the cost of dividing their energy equally between each body. In addition to these, Kiyoshi can also use this technique to briefly stretch his limbs out for longer-range attacks, quickly heal less severe injuries, or even increase his size to greater proportions than usual, though this last technique and the Multi-Form Technique are both very taxing for him to perform and maintain at his present power level.
- Kiai - A very basic ki technique, barely counting as an attack in its own right, Kiyoshi channels his energy into either his voice or his hands, emitting it in a pulse of physical force that can nullify weaker energy techniques, and perhaps deflect or redirect more powerful attacks depending on how he manipulates his power.
- Disrobe - Though it isn't obvious to an onlooker, most of Kiyoshi's clothing is fairly heavily weighted, something he has gotten used to over time. By removing everything he is wearing other than the cloth binding his lower body, he also removes this extra weight, giving him the option of even greater speed and strength than he already possessed.
- Solar Flare - An old but effective technique known to quite a few martial artists, but not something Kiyoshi particularly enjoys using for reasons of personal honour, thereby making it a last-ditch attack in his case. By placing his hands close to his face with his fingers spread toward his eyes, he can emit in all directions a glaring white light that blinds everybody watching him, save those with some form of eye protection such as sunglasses. Consequently, an opponent becomes far less able to react to whatever Kiyoshi has planned, be it a hasty retreat or a cheap attack made whilst the victim is unable to see.
Other: Kiyoshi can't truly fly through the air, but he can jump rather well, and to some extent slow and direct his fall through the use of kiais.
