I'm 31 years old and this story...well, there are multiple stories merged into one, but they're all over 15 years old. So explaining everything in one post is not an option. But keep reading (and for the love of God, ask questions), because this is not your generic "You wake up in..." story or game.
YOU - the player - your consciousness, memories, experiences UP UNTIL THIS POINT - are transported to another dimension/universe/world/realm/plane of existence, whatever you wanna call it. Except you are in the body of another character. You can hear and feel the other character's mind and personality, but you control the body. So if you meet a short bearded man with a pickaxe, and he looks like a dwarf, you might assume he's a dwarf, if you've played any DnD or watched any fantasy movies in real life. However, if that dwarf type creature is actually something else, the person sitting passenger with you (IE me), may choose to correct your assumption, or he/she may let you believe what you wanna believe.
The worlds: the RPG is called The Otherworlds Stories because there are more than one world.
The first world is a ----REDACTED, TOP SECRET---- where there is no ______, ______, or _____. You may think this - or perhaps even both of these worlds - are boring since apparently you cannot _____, but rest assured, the conspiracies and mysteries will have you guessing until the end.
The second world you will enter will be ----REDACTED, TOP SECRET---- where you will have to rely heavily on your diplomatic skills and perception of people and surroundings rather than combat, since everyone there will be way more ----YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW----
Then there is the more mundane world, except it's ----REDACTED, TOP SECRET----, but all of these different stories and worlds are inter-connected. The key is trying to find out how, and of course surviving.
There are rules.
1) You know in the game, what you know in real life. Up until you join the game.
2) Have a notebook, physical or computeral - you are gonna wanna write or type things out to keep in mind for later. You really dont want to have to sift through hundreds of pages of RP to find the name of that NPC that was mentioned once...
3) I currently run a d20 tabletop RPG of this (like DnD), so if you would either have a d20 on hand or download an app, that would be great. I could roll for you but why? Yes, you can cheat, for a little while, but it wont really help all that much. Trust me.
4) Passion. Creativity. Ingenuity. Reliability. Have these. Please. I will remove you from the game if you are absent for more than two weeks without notice, or if I feel like you're not that interested. Which makes no sense since this game is online and you can choose to RP anything, but it's been known to happen.
5) There is a type of leveling/XP in one of the stories. If you bring someone into the fold and they play long-term, you will gain XP and level up quicker. If they leave after you level or show no interest, or I just think they came to help you out, I will reduce you one level. I giveth away, and I taketh away.
6) This game has an overall story arc. But feel free to suggest creative ideas. I will only disallow them if they in some way go against the overall arc of the story. If you want to affect the arc, remember you are in another person's body seeing things as they would, and acting contrary to how they would act, so...that's kind of an unrealistic expectation, and you will understand why once you've been playing awhile.
7) Charisma, diplomacy, persuasion, perception, insight, etc. > combat ability.
8) There will be no more than 8 main player-characters. If anymore join, they will be ancillary. They will be the Jack Patillos of the game. XD for Achievement Hunter fans.
