@NecroKnight So far-- canonically-- the only Witcher School to take in females are Cat School. @Jones Sparrow will have final say though.

@NecroKnight Zerrikania is indeed governed by a matriarchy. However-- Witchers are often chosen by force (aka, chosen individuals were kidnapped or taken away from their parents). Witchers undergo extensive and rigourous training prior to be subjected to the Trial of Grasses and prior to mutagens which taxes the recipient's body greatly and often kills the majority of the male candidates (which in the lore is assumed that it means that female recipients would not survive the process). The only exception so far (I say this loosely) is Ciri, Geralt's daughter who only went through the training but not the Trial.

Indeed! As well as when the discovery of the school of Manticore happens, it is the the third game, and the basis for Manticore is that they wield medium armor designed for speed and defense at the same time and that Manticore is a bit more spiritual than others.

Mind you Manticore is only mentioned, but as a School it was noted to be much like the rest, with it's particular bonus of Spirituality, and this is made even more evident by Merten. Merten was a man who was imprisoned and through the years wanted to renounce his old life and repent. Merten was a Manticore Witcher and upon his release he held a pilgrimage and at every great milestone he left a piece of his gear and a Diagram before throwing the rest of it in a lake.
