Name: Jay
Age: Technically 2 months old; she is the living husk of someone who was 20 at the moment Jay was created.
Sex: Female
Ethnicity: Mexican-American
Physical Description:Jay stands at an average height of 5'6" with a lean body type and somewhat dark complexion. Her eyes are a bright blue, and quite a few freckles are apparent on her face. Her curly black hair reaches just short of her shoulders, and she usually keeps it brushed so it's not too much of a mess. She has a laid-back posture, as she doesn't stand straight up and rigid, though she doesn't slouch all that much either. Her basic go-to outfit is rather simple, consisting a sleeveless red shirt with blue jeans and white sneakers, though she sometimes adorns a thin black coat as well. The only piece of jewelry that she wears is a small silver ring with a sapphire embedded in it. Her general aura comes off as easy-going and optimistic, but anyone skilled at reading people would be able to tell that she employs a certain amount of forced control with her emotions and attitude towards others.
Skillset:With no memory of her, or rather the "Original" Jay's, past life, she doesn't have much of a skill set to draw from that isn't magic-based. The only skills she has that aren't magic-based are that she's incredibly good at being sneaky and stealthy when she needs to be, and that she's no physical slouch and can keep up with the athletic crowd, though that may be something the Original Jay had been good at that was passed down to her. She's not going to be pulling off flips or aerial moves, but she can hold her own in most general physical activities.
As for her magical abilities and what she is; she is a Husk, the reanimated shell of someone who underwent a metamorphosis and left behind their old form once the process finished. Jay cannot die due to this, technically due to the fact that she's not really alive to begin with. She is an empty shell given consciousness, neither alive nor dead, a walking paradox. She can experience everything a normal human can, including pain and hunger, but not even the most grievous injuries can kill her. Even if she sustains damage that destroys parts of her body, she'll simply reform after some time has passed, though if she concentrates she can regenerate faster. This unique ability of hers allows her to perform tasks that could be considered suicide missions for the average human, or even a magical being.
Her actual magical capabilities are unknown to herself, but as of now she knows she can assimilate into shadows to hide her form, and she can sense and feels a connection to other beings that can be classified as Undead. She potentially can learn further abilities with enough time, practice, and realization, such as being able to manipulate shadows themselves and create illusions with them. Using magic tires her out, which forces her to use it sparingly and when necessary rather than whenever she feels like. It can even cause her regeneration to slow and even stop for a time if she uses up too magic at once.
History:Jay awoke one day in her college dorm, not knowing who she was, where she was, or what she was. The only reason she knew what her name was was because she was called so by people who were supposedly her schoolmates. She was of course scared and confused, and was eventually admitted to a hospital due to her apparent sudden onset amnesia. Only after some time passed did her one and only memory come to her: she could see someone standing over her while she was in her bed, they looked just like her yet somehow otherworldly at the same time. And then, from the view of this person, she suddenly could her own body lying down. She looked dead and gray, like a cocoon that had been split open and left behind to rot away. And then, the person left. And that was all, it was the only thing Jay knew. She had no idea how much time had passed between the event from her memory and her eventual "awakening", but she supposed it couldn't had been too long, maybe a week at most.
During her stay in the hospital, she learned of recent news in the world and how magic was springing up everywhere. Once she gained her sole memory back, she quickly out two and two together and realized that she was one of these magical beings that everyone was so scared of, and that she likely wouldn't be safe if she stayed. It would only be a matter of time until somebody on the hospital staff figured out what she was, so for her own sake she left without telling anyone. She knew she couldn't return to her college, and she had no idea what her home had been before, so she became homeless for awhile while she did her best to come up with...well, any sort of plan. She wasn't sure what she could do, besides possibly finding her Original, but she had no idea how she could do that. But it was all she could think of. She needed to reunite with her, and possibly regain her memories. It was all she had to live for, really.
The answer eventually came directly to her, in the form of a local Coven that was drawing in Emergents to keep them safe. They gave her a place to stay, and when she explained her situation to them they understood and promised to tip her off if they ever received any helpful information. It surprisingly didn't take long for her to receive news of her Original's whereabouts, though it was both good and bad news. Good news was that they knew exactly where she was; bad news was that she was being kept in a holding camp, having been captured soon after her metamorphosis. Now with her own personal stake becoming apparent, Jay is now finding herself becoming much more involved with the Coven's plans to help their fellow Emergents trapped in the holding camps.
Psychological Profile:Caring, loyal, and down-to-earth, Jay is the kind of person to easily make friends and is definitely someone you want on your side. While she is nice and friendly, she is by no means soft-spoken or a pushover, and won't hesitate to call out someone on their lack of common sense or wrongful doing. Due to her fierce loyalty, she also is one to hold grudges if betrayed, and may forgive later down the line but will never forget. She puts on a face of confidence and tries to come off as all put together, but ultimately she's rather scared and insecure about herself and her situation. She does all can to hide this however, as she doesn't want to put her burdens on anyone else.
Possessions:- Ring- The ring she wears is the only thing her Original left behind, so Jay keeps it on her person at all times.
- Pocket Knife- Jay isn't particularly fond of violence, but she's quickly learned that being able to defend herself is important. She just hopes she never has to use it.
- Wallet- She doesn't have a whole lot of money, so its main use is storage for her ID.
