Name: Sir Ilvwenniel “Ilvwen” Yggristend
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Race: Half-elf
Primary Class: Warrior
Secondary Class: Enchanter
Appearance: Ilvwen is a rather tall man, standing at 6’4, with an athletic, slightly slim build, weighing around 215 pounds. He sports fair, almost pale skin, medium-length silvery, slicked back hair, and deep blue eyes, with a clean shaven face and aristocratic features. Ilvwen does look rather young for his age, which, along with his slightly pointed ears, betrays his elven heritage. Notable features would include a soft, small scar running straight down the middle of his left eye, around two inches in length, as well as a much larger, blackened scar, carved into his right wrist, with the veins in his right hand visually darkened as well. Ilvwen tends to keep this scar bandaged. The symbol of Vitaia is tattooed on his chest, over his heart.
Ilvwen’s armor is a half-plate, with the cuirass emblazoned with the symbol of Vitaia, and lacking armor around his shoulders and upper legs, his right hand sporting a more plated gauntlet than his left. Underneath his armor, he wears his casual wear. He also wears a red knight’s cape with white fur trimmings around the collar and bottom edge, the faded coat of arms of the Argentum line embroidered in golden thread. Ilvwen’s casual wear consists of a white-hooded, long-sleeved tunic with red trimmings, dark brown trousers, and steel-toed boots.
Personality: Ilvwen is a strong-willed man with a great sense of morality, following a code of conduct that guides him to act with honor. He is honest and kind whenever he can, preferring to duel his foes directly and with honor, not one to utilize underhanded tactics such as poison. While he does see such acts as dishonorable, he has little qualms if his allies perform them, so long as it is for the greater good, although this won't stop him from advising against such actions. While his code of honor states that he must fight against all evils, he knows well enough to stay his blade unless it is absolutely neccesary.
When he makes an oath to someone, he will work hard to achieve that goal. Because of this, Ilvwen tends to not take promises lightly. A good example would be him politely refusing any offer to heal his cursed hand until he fulfills an oath he made in the past. This stubbornness also results in Ilvwen being completely loyal to whatever cause or people he fights for.
Ilvwen treats everyone fairly, willing to help those who are weaker than him, and respecting those who are stronger, so long as the said person doesn’t harbor malicious intent, or is suspicious. He stays vigilant towards such people, and harbors an extensive distrust to black mages especially, since forbidden magic is said to have stemmed from black magic. He also absolutely refuses to willingly work with any forbidden magic users.
Ilvwen also sports a strong devotion to Vitaia, and is often praying for her guidance and protection. He protects those who cannot protect themselves, and will slay truly corrupt beings, such as undead and demons, in his goddess’s name.
Backstory: For the past few months, Ilvwen travels in pilgrimage as a holy knight of Vitaia, tasked with protecting and helping the innocent, and bringing those who dare use forbidden magic to justice. He has a fair amount of combat experience from his past, although he tends not to speak of it too much.
When probed of his past, however, the holy warrior only says that he's only a shadow of whatever he once was. He sports a slight accent belonging to those from Solisa. Judging by his mannerism and skills with the blade, as well as from the cape he wears, he may have been a knight serving the Argentum line. He also sports a knack for enchanting, possibly stemming from his elven heritage.
Weapons:
- Ilvwen’s Blade - A longsword with a silver dragon head on its pommel, a red handle, and a silver crossguard with a sapphire embedded within it. The blade is around 3’8 long, and is thicker than a normal longsword, giving it a bit of a heft, as well as stronger cutting power. While it can be wielded by most warriors, it requires above-average strength to wield with one hand.
The blade sports a minor “deflect” enchantment, which allows most things that strike its blade to be bounced back, so long as the item it’s deflecting isn’t terribly heavy, such as a warhammer or a greataxe. The enchantment works to its fullest when the blade is swung, being weaker when the blade is used to block. This enchantment only works if the item its deflecting it strikes it directly, and will not automatically deflect all things coming its way, depending on the wielder’s skill with the blade to be used to its fullest - Service knife - A seven inch dagger used mostly for utility, but can also serve as a weapon whenever Ilvwen is unable to use his sword for whatever reason.
Misc.: Ilvwen’s right hand is cursed with powerful forbidden magic, causing it constant pain when in use. While Ilvwen can hold things such as cups with minor discomfort, he is unable to use the finer functions of his fingers without suffering pain, and when too much effort is exerted through it (with examples being using it to fight or wield weapons/shields), sharp pain will shoot up through his arm, sometimes being enough to bring him to his knees. Only high-leveled white magic can remove the curse. Because of this curse, Ilvwen only fights with his left hand.
