Children are taken advantage of all the time. I was just picking a couple JSAers arbitrarily because he wouldn't have been old enough to idolize Batman. What I meant as far he would fight crime like Dr. Mid Nite and The Flash, not that he would gain powers in a comparable way. The thing about college costing a lot of money, I just chalk up to the fact that Howard would've eventually been good enough to pay for several semesters before taking on student loan debt.

Cassandra Cain is a young woman of mixed heritage, though one could say her mother’s Asian ancestry ended up being more apparent when it came to Cassandra’s appearance. Beyond that, Cassandra has the physicality that outdoes many of her contemporaries and allies due to the sheer fact that she has been consistently put through training since she was able to walk – her constitution and physique predating her career as a vigilante and heroine.

Cassandra Cain was born as the byproduct of the plans of David Cain in an attempt to prove himself worthy to the League of Shadows after several disappointing engagements against the superhero known as The Batman. Ultimately, Cassandra's birth was the result of fate; the leader of the League of Shadows, Ra’s al Ghul, had slowly lost faith in her father's abilities as an agent of the league and was beginning to wonder if the man had outlived his usefulness. Knowing the lackluster reputation he had garnered, David decided to attempt to redeem himself through a new form of training he had designed; the idea of grooming the perfect weapon for the league in the form of his daughter, Cassandra.
For over a decade, David’s plans seemed to be successful. Taught to read people and react to them based on their movements and body language over vocal communication, by eight years old she was already physically and mentally on another level entirely than many others – including some longtime members of the league. As these experiences developed David reported constantly back to Talia al Ghul who served as the immediate supervisor of his training methods; the only member of the league’s inner circle that looked to his efforts with a modicum of interest and not the pathetic attempts of a failing, ineffective, veteran agent. However, unbeknownst to him Talia was recording her own thoughts on his methods for her own personal reasons. What Talia was taking into account remained obscure to him as he focused continuously on molding Cassandra into the living weapon to serve the league and allow him entrance back into the inner circle of the league. But unfortunately, upon his daughter’s tenth birthday he decided to initiate her graduation from child to assassin; a judgement that would change Cassandra’s life forever.
Deciding to test her abilities in the real world, David took his daughter on an expedition to the United States where he would direct his daughter into performing a hit for the league. Being a child of her mindset, Cassandra has no idea what killing was and participated as if it was just another one of her father’s games. After executing the target, she perceived his death as he did – the instinctive and perceptive manner of her upbringing allowing her to understand what had just happened. For the first time in her life she felt dread and disgust. Before her father knew it, Cassandra had abandoned him and run away.
Her instincts however had severe consequences; for the first time in Cassandra’s life she was now alone, a fact that was accompanied by feelings of guilt and self-loathing as the feeling of her first victim still remained on her conscience. Her father had abandoned her like she had abandoned him, leaving her to die in the urban sprawl as an orphan as he returned to the league empty-handed and betrayed. However, despite being only ten years old, Cassandra was diligent and unafraid. Despite being in a situation she had no idea how to navigate, nothing could be more terrifying and repulsive than what she had been forced to experience. She pushed forward, moving from city-to-city and home-to-home, taking only what she needed to survive.
Eventually, she came to Gotham and found herself meeting with the one man that was her old family’s sworn nemesis, the superhero that stalked the shadows and rooftops as the caped crusader – The Batman. She was now thirteen years old.
Soon enough she found she had a new family and a new purpose, though she often remained hidden from those involved with Batman directly. Cassandra found new purpose as a covert agent of The Batman, though her responsibilities often led her to cooperate and work with other superheroes such as Robin (Tim Drake). However, before Batman disappeared he gave her a final, important, and non-contestable mission. To watch over Damian and ensure his survival.

Body Reading Ability: Perhaps the most unique asset of Cassandra’s skillset is her ability to read people through body language. A byproduct of her father’s unique method of training her in preparation for her future as an agent of the League of Shadows, Cassandra was taught to listen and observe before she was allowed to learn to talk. The consequence of this training resulted in Cassandra having an intuitive way to reacting and perceiving people through their body language.
Hand-to-Hand Combat: Cassandra’s skills in hand-to-hand combat is extraordinary; Batman himself has mentioned that the young woman is beyond comparison and that despite his years of experience honing his talents that he would lose in a contest of pure skill. This comes as no surprise knowing that Cassandra was bred as a living weapon to serve the League of Shadows and that she has essentially been training since she could walk.
Marksmanship: Cassandra has a distaste for firearms, but is adept with the principles behind them as well as conventional throwing weapons including kunai, shuriken, and batarangs.
Stealth: As a byproduct of her conditioning as an agent of the League of Shadows, when Cassandra wants to be heard, she is heard; when she doesn’t, she isn’t. Few are able to tell when she is in the same room as them, less alone on a busy street at night.
Swordplay: Cassandra was trained in swordplay by the League of Shadows in their attempt to groom her into the perfect agent to serve the Demon’s Head. She could survive an encounter with those trained in the weapon.

Name: Job Ridges, M.D. Age:32 Alias: Doc Gator (Yeh, I know it's lame.) Appearance: Doc Gator is rather tall and well muscled man...if he can be described as man, that is. Being a sufferer of a rarely known atavic condition, very much like a certain infamous crook of Gotham, he is massive in size, with feral features and pointy teeth, and a hardened skin covered in bony patches. His skin is a slightly different shade than the infamous Croc, (namely being a bit more brownish than green) but it is often not enough to distinguish both, at least when it comes to first glances. Much to his chagrin, his clothes often than not are tattered, a side effect of his natural dermal armor, and he can only manage to keep a singed pair of jeans on his self without breaking them away completely, as well as a spacious and equally worn longcoat where he carries his meager posessions, including a wallet and a sturdy wind-up pocket watch. Doc Gator also carries a backpack full of the tools of the trade for a doctor, taking advantage of the weight carrying capabilities of his strong back. A crude metal faceplate hiding his monstrous mouth, held together with straps of tough leather, completes the set. However, it is when he speaks what really sets him apart from that other Gotham crook, because Doc Gator shows a highly proficient and literate expression. Skills/Abilities: Crocodilian Atavism: Doc Gator is afflicted by the same genetic condition as Killer Croc, and has ravaged his body with mutations since he was young. Even if they're quite grotesque and disfiguring, they are not without perks. His skin is tough enough to resist abrasions and even firearms, and he has strength that surpasses the human limits. He has keen senses, including a highly developed olfactory sense and good nightvision, as well as feral-like reflexes. His constitution and vitality are also affected, being able to shrug off damage and recover from wounds that otherwise would cripple a normal human. He can move in water as well as in land, and spend long periods submerged.
Skilled Doctor: Doctor Gator is called Doctor for a reason. He is a surprisingly good medic, with skills that branch out in almost all disciplines of medicine. One could only wonder how good would he really be had he had been born with normal nimble hands. He also has managed to publish a thesis in Genetics, due to his own personal interest to find about his condition.
Stoic Master: He has a very thick skin. Both physically and metaphorically, making him very hard to unsettle and pretty unreadable. It was this or becoming a cannibal berserk. Which he only becomes on rare ocassions when he is truly and well angered.
Survivor: Doc Gator is also rather competent at finding himself the way out of hopeless solutions, thanks to a combination of quick wits and a resilient physique. He's not much of a polished fighter, though, as his fighting knowledge amounts to hitting things really hard until they stop moving.
Biography:
Job was a foundling, as someone born with his kind of condition would be cast off by a lot of parents minutes within after birth, and he was no special case in that regard. What followed, though, was nothing short of a miracle. The orphanage he was abandoned into was a well enough, nice place, run by some people of the clergy. And yes, he got bullied, but not to the extent one would expect. Everyone in that place was like a big family, even the strange kid with the weird skin and the big teeth. More often than not, Job would take the physically demanding jobs even from adults to help in any way he could, and would use his strength to protect the little community. However, time passed, and he grew old, and eventually he had to face the real world instead of the somewhat sheltered environment.
Things, as expected, were not easy for Job. Nobody wanted him anywhere. Even if he actually was a bright would-be college student, there simply was no place among society for him, for they saw the beast that he looked, and not the man that he was. Tired and jaded, Job clenched his teeth, and vowed in defiance that he would become a doctor, even if it was the last thing he ever did. He eventually found a place where they could accept him as student.

While for normal people this would mean a really horrible time, Job played his cards of being strong and mean-looking, and he did manage to study and advance in such a turbulent country with relative ease. However, nothing was ever free, and even young Job's faith in humanity erased little by little as he struggled to make ends meet in the cesspool of violence that was said country. One day, he pretended not to notice a murder that happened next door... the next day, he was offered money for a certain patient to "never survive" an operation. Little by little, his heart became dark and apathetic. He wanted to become a medic to spite people... not to save them. And in all fairness, who would put their lives in his hands other than the various crooks of the underworld? Eventually, his skills garnered him some late recognition, and he was awarded a fund to do a thesis on Genetics, a subject he was completely enthralled with, as a means to discover the secret of his own existence.
...However the strings attached to the grant meant he had to serve as a backalley doctor for a criminal syndicate in Gotham...
After all, who else would actually want him as a doctor?
