We Aren't the Crystal Gems: A Steven Universe AU roleplay

Welcome! Thank you for showing interest in what will hopefully be a great RP! I'm sure it will be great because you're great and you're interested! Here is your introduction:

A small green and blue orb gets bigger in the distance. Your commanding officer called it "Earth." You and your squad were sent here, albeit indirectly, by the Diamond Authority to check on the Cluster, a powerful geoweapon which will destroy the planet if all goes according to plan. However, all does not appear to be going according to plan because your ship's navigation systems have malfunctioned and you are presently hurtling towards the planet.



Not much is known of this planet. At least, not by you. The Diamond Authority doesn't like talking about it, and because you are young for a gem, you have never been here before. Some among your group may have overheard bits and pieces, stories told by older gems who survived the great war that happened here long ago, but the subject of planet Earth is treated as a grave matter by most of gemkind, and asking about it is usually a great way to put an older, more experienced gem in a sour mood. All you know for certain is that Pink Diamond was once stationed here and never came back.

If you couldn't already tell, this is a slightly AU Steven Universe RP, focusing on a group of rookie gems who get stranded on Earth while on a mission to check on the cluster, which hasn't yet been discovered by the crystal gems - either because the crew we know hasn't found it yet, or because they simply don't exist like they do in the show. We're looking for a group of 10 rookie gem RPers who are willing to commit and communicate to the RP as it will be centered mostly around them, though slots for humans and other, older gems will eventually open. It'll start off light and fluffy at first, with the rookies learning more about themselves and Earth, and will slowly introduce conflict, both external and internal, as the gems struggle to figure out what it is they want to fight for - or against.

Character Sheet:

Gem: (Your type of gem. See list of banned gems)

Name if your gem goes by a different name: (Eg - Navy/Eyeball/Leggy/etc to distinguish among rubies, or how Lapis Lazuli just goes by Lapis for short)

Appearance: A physical description or picture or your gem's body, their gem's placement, etc.

Powers: Anything your gem can do that is beyond the ability of an average gem. This includes magical abilities such as Rose's healing tears and Lapis' aquakinesis, as well as innate abilities like Jasper's strength. You get four points to put into these abilities as you choose, and they are able to stack into a single skill. Lapis, for example, would probably have all four (or more) points in her ability to manipulate water under this system. Gems might not be able to improve with training like humans do, but you'll get more points as the game goes on and your gem learns to further unlock their potential.

Items: A weapon, tool, appendage, etc. that isn't a natural part of your gem. You get one summoned item (your gem item, eg; Rose's shield, Pearl's spear), and up to two non-summoned items, which can be created (eg; Rose's sword, Aquamarine's wand), or add-ons (Peridot's limb enhancers)

Backstory: What has your gem done up to this point? What is their job in this group? All of the gems present are supposed to be relatively young and this is one of their first missions, so try not to make them much older than around 500 years.

Writing example: A brief sample of your character doing a thing, to give an insight on both your style as well as how your characters acts and reacts. 3-5 paragraphs preferable. Can be as a drabble or an RP.

Paraiba Tourmaline, Evenkite, Biggs Jasper, Bismuth, Rose Quartz, Harlequin Quartz, any gem that canonically exists as a fusion, Zircon, any Diamond, anything that's already been claimed by another player or GM. Gem types that have appeared canonically are fine (e.g. Pearls, Rubies, Amethysts) as long as they aren't ones who have appeared specifically in the show, e.g. you can't play the Pearl.)

Chromite

Gem: Chromite

Name if your gem goes by a different name: N/A

Appearance: Chromite stands at around 5'10, with a build and physical appearance similar to Tanith from Fire Emblem, but with gray skin and hair. Chromite is generally covered head-to-toe in armor similar to a knight's. Her gem is located on her right shoulder blade.

Powers:

Strength: I. Chromite isn't excessively strong, but she is a combat gem and can get the job done.

Defense: II. Chromite is primarily a defensive gem. Her armor and gem item can absorb significant amounts of damage, and she knows how to use both.

Combat Training: I. Chromite has received standard training as a gem soldier.

Items: A large, Spartan-style shield, her gem item. A long, thin lance. Her armor.

Backstory: Chromite's existence has mostly been a boring affair up to this point. Like all Chromites she was created to be a frontline defender but has rarely seen true combat, and has mostly only worked security jobs on various planets conquered by Homeworld. She was chosen, of course, to serve in a defensive capacity to her group.

Writing example: A not necessarily canon story about Chromite:

"Chromite reporting." The young gem stood at attention, straight as an arrow before her superior. After a few decades of training and two centuries working security jobs, Chromite had been stationed on the Earth to help fight the growing rebellion. Her nervousness was so palpable you'd practically get lightheaded just standing next to her.

The older chromite didn't rest on ceremony, she didn't even bother with so much as an "at ease." Hardened as she was, she'd suffered more than a few headaches since the war began, and she wasn't interested in wasting time or words. She looked her new soldier in the eye, her gaze like a corpse's: unreadable. "You won't be with us long. Fall in with the rest of them, chromite." If she weren't a gem, Chromite would be sweating. "YES, MA'AM!" she belts.

Chromite falls in with her squad. In spite of being the same type of gem, she doesn't blend in particularly well. She stands among other chromites in the ancient forest where they were instructed to meet up. The group includes several chromites of various colors and gem placements, those being bicep, eye, hand, and stomach, in addition to the commander's who had hers on her head.

The chromites head towards their "base," a small area where the trees and plantlife are especially thick, thereby providing cover and preventing their words from traveling very far. As they make their way there, a brown mass becomes visible not too far in the distance. The older chromites immediately raise their shields as a bear moves towards them. Chromite, caught off guard by this non-gem opponent, imitates the rest of her group only a second too late. The bear is on top of her just before she can bring her shield up. Even with her strength, Chromite has immense difficulty against the overwhelming force of the bear. She manages to keep it's mouth away from her face, but is repeatedly grazed by its claws. The squad leader puts her hand up as the other chromites lower their shields and prepare to help, allowing this to continue for a full minute. Finally, she draws the shortsword from the sheath at her hip and takes care of the animal, rolling its body off of Chromite as she does.

Chromite bolts up as soon as she overcomes the shock of the event. "I'm sor-" "Stop." The leader kneels down before Chromite has a chance to stand up, giving her yet another glare of death. "Listen up. Don't apologize- and no, this isn't a stupid 'Don't apologize, do better" lecture because right now you'd only fail at that too. What I want you to do is understand that being hard on you is the best thing I can do for you at this point. So I don't want your apology. A 'thank you' is what I just worked hard to earn." "T-thank y-" "Thank you's are cheap! You were so wound up that if that had been a group of Crystal Gems instead of some mindless Earth creature, you'd be dead, and all the time we spent reaching you would have been a complete waste! I trust that's over now."

Chromite had no idea how she was supposed to respond. She thought for a moment and realized that, as traumatic as that situation had been, she was quite lucid now, like the worst was already over. Gone was the constantly nagging fear that she'd do something wrong, or that she wasn't good enough, she'd already come face-to-face with the knowledge that she wasn't. "Yes, ma'am." she said calmly. "I'm glad we understand each other, see that it doesn't happen again." The older chromite stood up and joined the rest of the group. The chromite whose gem was located on her stomach gave Chromite her hand and dusted her off as she got up.

"Hey, I don't think the Paladin wants you doing that." the bicep chromite called. "It's fine." the leader responded. "Let her have someone to get her emotions on, spares us from having to deal with it. If she hasn't grown out of it by now, she never will."

Rubellite

Gem: Rubellite

Appearance:
This is pretty much her base, with similar facial features and wild hair. However, Rubellite's skin is mostly red, but flecked with brownish orange along her arms and shoulders. Her gem is mostly dark red but is unusually flecked with white. Unlike the gem pictured, Rubellite wears a gem soldier outfit similar to Jasper's. Rubellite is top-heavy, with arms that are just a tiny bit longer and more muscular than her legs. Although she's learned to hide it, Rubellite stands most comfortably with a pronounced hunch, making her a literal knuckle dragger.

Powers:

Strength: V

One of her defining traits and pretty much her saving grace, Rubellite's strength is immense even for a gem.

Endurance: III

While not as outlandish as her physical strength, Rubellite is a durable gem and can take a hit as well as and fight for as long as all but the most powerful Quartz.

Intelligence: -1

Her primary weakness. Rubellite's intelligence is decidedly below the baseline for a gem, putting her not much higher than an unintelligent human. Outwitting her won't prove a challenge for most.

Rubellite's unnamed ability: I

A special ability that won't be revealed until later. (evil laughter)

Items: A large mace, her gem item.

Backstory:

"Gem emerging from kindergarten #7830, sector 5, hole #383. ...What is that?

"It says a rubellite was supposed to emerge here, but this is the puniest rubellite I've ever seen. Should we discard it?"

"Not yet, it might be suitable for the gem repurposing program. We should contact someone in it. Rose Rock is probably our best option, he's sure to know what do do with her."

Rubellite was created on a near-Homeworld colony, and has always been something of an oddity. From the time she was born, it was clear that she was neither large nor strong enough to truly do the work of a rubellite gem, but unlike them, she had the intelligence and reflexes to be suitable as a soldier. Normally a gem like her would have been crushed and thrown out immediately, but thanks to the program that was being run when she was created, she was spared and repurposed as part of the gem military. It was apparent early on that she lacked the brains to be a decent strategist, but she more than made up for it with strength that surpassed that of nearly any Quartz. For many years, she slowly rose through the ranks, always handicapped by her lack of any real leadership ability, but always persevering. She doesn't often show it, or perhaps it simply isn't easy to notice because she seems to indiscriminately desire conflict, but centuries of mistreatment have made her bitter against gem kind, especially the Quartz gems who never saw her as one of them and often abused her. Today, Rubellite has finally attained a high enough rank that she is often a high commander of gem forces on any planet she is stationed on, normally not reporting to more than one or two higher ranking gems.

Rubellite talking with Lodolite:

"Hey Lodo, you talkin' to somebody?"

Lodolite grins their usual shit-eating grin and chuckles. "If I constitute as somebody, then yes, yes I have been. You've been well I take?"

"I could only be better if there was someone on this planet who could give me a decent challenge, looks like that's not gonna happen though. Would'ja mind telling me again why we can't just destroy this place? I doubt there's anything on this planet worth more than the look on Jasper's face if I tell her I halved her time for exterminating an entire planet."

"Well, there's the cluster for one, which will be more enough of a challenge for all of us if anything goes wrong, the fact we've got not one, not two, but ten of our young privates down there, including one of my own apprentices, the possibility of bragging to Jasper when you tell her how you completely destroyed The Crystal Gems when she couldn't, aaaaaaaaaaand..." they stop, counting on their fingers and pretending to be lost in thought.

"Oh, right! The fact that the Diamonds specifically told us not to and will probably have your gem shattered for your disobedience, and that I'll have mine shattered by you in my vain attempt to prevent your doing so! That! Almost forgot about that! Unless you have a death wish, of course. Personally, I could go either way right about now, so really it's up to you~"

Rubellite listens with a blank stare, possibly following along but quite possibly not. She takes a second to process what Lodolite has said and replies "Oh yeah, that. I can't say I'm too confident in the Crystal Gems being much in a fight, especially if all of them are newly broken-in. This cluster thing though, it's supposed to be tough?"

Lodolite laughs, seeing as how she focused solely on what might be a challenge rather than those. "Typical Rubellite, what am I to do with you? Yes, the Cluster is beyond tough. It's a living geoweapon that'll blow up the Earth before you, or I, or anyone else will get a shot at it simply by emerging. Made entirely of the shards of deceased gems, mostly those of the rebels. Pretty sure Old Rocky had a hand in its creation someway or another. Odd that he's still got some shards still lying around..."

"Huh. So it'll blow up the Earth, then I get to hit it? I wonder how many times I'll have to to shatter something that big. But wait... doesn't that also mean I have to wait before I can start smashin' stuff?"

"Oh Rubellite, Rubellite. You'll only get to hit it if something goes wrong and we aren't able to control it. And yes, you will have to wait until you smash it, if you get to smash it. But hey, you get to brag to Jasper at least for killing the Crystal Gems, so not all the smashing has to wait~"

"What?! Why bother telling me about it at all then? I'll have to round up any Rubies we have on hand and tell them to go help the Crystal Gems if I'm going to have any fun!"

"Because you asked me, silly child~! After all, if I hadn't answered, you'd simply become angry and disappointed rather than simply the latter, and such would be a shame~"

Oh, so you did it as like a 'manners' thing. I never really understood that. So... do you have any idea when these Crystal Gems are supposed to show up?

"Not exactly, but close enough. As for that question, it's likely we'll have to go down there ourselves at some point, after Jasper's failures."

Oh, well why didn't you just say so! I'm the best at finding people, just hit everything that isn't them into tiny bits, then do the same thing with them!"

They laugh."I don't doubt it Rubellite, but you can't smash everything there. Well, you can. Sure. But you really shouldn't. After all, the young privates are still down there, and we wouldn't want to harm our own, would we~? Besides, you'll need the Diamonds' permission."

"Aw c'mon, you know that's not fair. The Diamonds hate fun almost as much as they hate me!"

They put a hand on Rubellite and give it a short ruffle. "Aw, c'mon, you act as if the Diamonds don't hate everyone~"

Gemswap: if Rubellite had been sent to Earth instead of Jasper

The giant hand lands, allowing the ball-capsule to roll to it's edge and open, revealing Rubellite, Peridot and Lapis. "That's them alright, they're the ones who keep breaking my machines." The massive red gem points to Steven. "So, that's the one you were telling me about?" "Y-yes. Listen Rubelite, whatever you need to do, he's just a human, he isn't a threat at all, he-" This elicits a deep, half-suppressed laugh from Rubellite. "Lapis, do you think any of them are a threat to me? Like we agreed, I promise I won't hurt him, now hold up your end of the deal and tell me if we're in the right place." "Yeah, this is it." There is detectable shame in Lapis' voice, and she can't look directly at Steven or the gems.

"You all need to leave immediately!"

"Yeah, step off!"

"This is not a gem controlled planet!"

Rubellite has a genuine smile on her face. "If you want me gone so badly, you're gonna have to get rid of me yourselves." She jumps down.

"I was kinda hoping there'd be more than three of you, but I guess it isn't too much too hope that you're tougher than you look. I mean, you guys are the same Crystal Gems who struck fear into the hearts of Homeworld way back when, right? Wiping you out like this just seems like it'd be... disappointing? No, that's not it. Hey, Peridot! Make yourself useful and tell me what I'm trying to say!" Peridot's expression doesn't belie how unhappy and confused she is by this request. "Um, anti-climactic?" "Yeah! It's be pretty anti-climactic if you guys weren't ready to put up a fight! I hope the stories are all true." Finally, Rubellite's mace appears in her hands. Her excitement mirrors that of a dog with its favorite toy. "Let's see if the Crystal Gems know how to take a hit."

"Steven, get out of here!

"No!"

"I won't let you risk your life!"

"But this is my home, and you're all my family!"

Rubellite leaps about a dozen feet into the air, ready to bring her mace down on the gems, only to bounce off of Steven's shield and end up half-buried in the sand.

"That... isn't a human" Rubellite quickly pulls herself up. "Lapis, you lied to me."

"I-it wasn't relevant to the mission!"

Rubellite completely stops focusing on the Crystal Gems. She glares at Lapis, her demeanor now completely different from when she thought this was going to be casual fun. "You made me look stupid, Lapis. I want you out of my sight."

"What?!"

She abruptly grabs Lapis, to the visible shock of everyone else there. "I SAID, GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!" Almost instantly, Lapis is a dot on the horizon. Within seconds, she isn't visible at all.

"Steven, run!"

Rubellite readies her mace as soon as she sees Garnet coming, and scores a direct blow on the unprepared Garnet. Garnet spends several seconds in the air. "Come on, get back up! I came here for a challenge!" Garnet is getting desperate and makes another rush for Rubellite, but again, Rubelite is able to bring her mace down on Garnet, this time causing here to poof and separate. "Waitwhat? ...Oh, I get it, she was a fusion!" An audible -smack- is heard coming from Peridot, brought out of her initial shock at Rubellite's actions because of how clueless she could be. Rubellite tosses Amethyst and Pearl out of the way and unceremoniously grabs Steven. "Now, just what the hell are you?"

---------A while later, after getting her ass kicked by Garnet and the gems have crash-landed the ship--------

A visibly worn down Rubellite throws aside some rubble and begins approaching the gems, to their dismay. She's laughing. "I don't know how you managed that, but it's going to take a lot more than a stupid song and dance number to beat me. That's never going to work again!" She looks Garnet in the eye, at least as much as she can with Garnet's eyes covered. The gems all get ready to try to to fight her off once more. "Hey, Garnet, was it? If you're really so much stronger than me, stop playing around and tell your friends you can handle this on your own. Come on, I know you want a round three. Any real warrior would.

The gems look nervously at Garnet. She chuckles softly. "Yeah, alright."

"GREAT!"

Rubellite and Garnet go at it, both a little wiser to each other's tactics now than they were. Garnet manages to dodge most of Rubellite's swings, but a few come dangerously close. Garnet manages to move in close and land a few hits on Rubellite here and there, but neither gem shows signs of being finished any time soon. The fight drags on for nearly half an hour, Rubellite finally starts looking like she's getting tired. She swings one more time as Garnet moves in for a punch, this time managing to graze her. Garnet staggers, injured but not out. It could be either gem's fight at this point.

"I've seen enough! Amethyst, fuse with me!" Amethyst nods, but before the get a chance to do anything, an enormous wave swallows Rubellite, but sends Garnet back to where the others are standing. A pillar of water emerges from the sea, containing Rubellite, with a scowling Lapis hovering near it. "You're my prisoner now, Rubellite."

Hm... Well the 'split' gem idea would be an 'ancient' kind of gem if that makes sense, back when the Gem Empire was conquering worlds left and right. Formed from a neutron star or something. (I'm really into cosmetology and quantum physics atm. And Neutron stars are cool as hell.) I think I could only use that one if they are already on Earth and wake up from an ancient gem stasis ship due to the people landing on Earth.

Marry meanwhile can fit in wherever.

Up to you. Split gem would have a super offensive and super defensive halves, Marry would just be portal mania.

@Spinna Could easily still be a 'rookie', technology and sleeping for who knows how long would make anyone ultra rusty. lol And having zero grasp on current events would be pretty crippling too.

Gem: Snowflake Obsidian

Name if your gem goes by a different name: Snowflake

Appearance:
Snowflake is a beanpole, by gem standards and by Snowflake Obsidian standards. Easily rivaling the height of the Rebellion Perma-Fusion Garnet, Snowflake is on the thinner side of life. Her thin and lithe body allows her to move rather impressively, despite her height.

Powers: Temperature Manipulation[4/4]: For making areas as viable as possible, Snowflake Obsidians are able to control the temperature around them. This was especially useful when finding potential spots for new Kindergartens. On a technical level, this ability is friction manipulation at its bases state, only effecting the molecules in the air.
Snowflake is able to manipulate the temperature of the air around her at will. Not only being able to radiate her desired temperature, but she can change the temperature of her body, as well as change the temperature of "zones" around her. To a very small extent, this allows her to freeze things, generate ice, melt items, or even make things catch fire, but this requires a good deal of concentration.
Thermal Vision[2/4]: Due to having no eyes, Snowflake has been equipped with thermal vision. This allows her to see, regardless of light level. After having lived so long with this special ability, Snowflake is barely effected by drastic changes in light and heat, though she can be forgetful, and simply not use her thermal vision, making her blind when focused on other things.

Items: Flame/Snow Thrower - Snowflake's summon, it works with her temperature manipulation to launch either snow/ice or fire.

Backstory: Snowflake was a fighter in the rebellion. She abandoned her post as a planet-scouter and ecological specialist to fight against the gems who conquered words and took them apart for their own selfish needs. Snowflake was already matured by the time she was stationed at earth, having been quite jaded with the procedure. All previous planets had simple, hardly sentient life. Earth showed her that organic life was something worth preserving, and joined Bismuth in leaving Homeworld to fight with Rose Quartz.

After the diappearance of Bismuth on a solo-mission, Snowflake decided to stay at her outpost with the others, protecting the warp pads that she was responsible for.

Anything extra you'd like to add:After living so long, Snowflake has become quite the wordsmith. She knows how to talk to people, and tries not to use her powers of word crafting and manipulation for evil. She only wants to help people and shield them from truths they aren't ready to know yet.

Astro

Gem: Astrophyllite

Name if your gem goes by a different name: Astro

Appearance:

Powers: Electromagnetic field generation.[4/4] The fields she can create are tiny and seemingly useless, especially when considering that they can only be generated around her body, but Astrophyllite has found a great use for them. She uses them for mobility, and combat, often generating a field in the place where an enemy will strike and lock the tool of the enemy there so they can't move or use it. Warning: do not use around radios, they have a tendency to block certain waves.

Items: Throwing Axe, summon.

Backstory: Astrophyllite was born with a softer gem than most of her kind, which, when paired with the others, was always spoken about, resulting in her fearing that one day it will break because of something simple and insignificant. She always followed her orders to the letter, more of fear from her diamond than actual respect, but did so nonetheless. One day, she was moved from her team to another team, still a young gemling (as the other Astrophyllites likes calling her), and she asked no questions about the movement.

Writing example: Astrophyllite, or simply Astro, as she called herself in privacy, had only ever broken the rules at one point in her two-hundred year life. It had happened one hundred and fifty six years ago, and she had taken a recorder and an unused log tablet for her own personal use. It had never garnered attention, but to this day, she always feared that someone was going to walk into her chambers and find the stolen equipment.

"Log. Erm, let's see now..." She muttered to herself, the recorder active as she spoke into the microphone end. "Sol two hundred, exact. Two hundred years after my creation." It wasn't really of any importance to her. The others didn't seem to celebrate annually, especially with pesky things like relativity, and she was created on a planet that followed a different cycle than homeworld, so there was that too. "The planet of my creation is still intact, barely. All of the natives had long since evacuated by now."

A faint knocking could be heard from the recording, but the knock was much louder in person. "Five Three Zero Nine, we have ten minutes to report. I expect to see you at the briefing platform in five, gemling."
"O-of course!" Astro nodded, though the figure could obviously not see through walls. "I will be there momentarily."

Without another sound from the other Astrophyllite, Astro sighed and put the log away, leaving just the recorder out. "I know I've stated it before, but it seems like Astrophyllite Seven Two Seven Three, or Prima, as she likes being called, has set up a rank for our little group. Maybe it makes a little more sense since we don't often fuse with one another like Rubies or others do, so there is no collaborative mindset, but I just wish that she stopped treating me like the lowest link in the chain." A soft breath escaped her lips, her hand reaching to the button on the recorder.

"Log over."

There was so little in her room - white walls, white ceiling, white bars, white gloves, white shackles, white shards, white white white white, picking and prodding and muttering among each other beyond her walls, as if she couldn't hear anything. None of it made much sense - something about successful samples and defective gems. Some voices she recognized as old friends. Or were they old foes? Was there a difference at this point?

She shook her head, not allowing her thoughts to wander. They weren't watching her. Take a breath. Focus. Aim.
She was wasting precious moments free from supervision. Who knew how long until she got a chance like this again?

A spark of hope was re-lit - tentatively, she moved the hands she couldn't see, enough to test her binds, but not enough to make too much noise.

Still tight as ever.

She silently cursed the diamonds, frown deepening and heels digging into the floor. Nothing in the room would help her, even if she could reach them. She was ready to scream of frustration, the only thing holding her back was that there really was a way out, instead only having it come out as a silent hiss.

And then it hit her like a brick.

Choked, delirious giggled bubbled within her as she pressed her sweaty palms closer to the cuffs, wincing as it dug into her skin, desperation giving her the strength she thought she lost all too long ago.

Maybe, just maybe, the very thing that got her in this mess, could get her out of it.

@Archmage MC Hmmm. I'm running it by my co-GMs. In my view, a gem like that really wouldn't have any place on the ship with a bunch of standard young soldier gems, but it doesn't sounds like that's what you want anyway. That being said, we've also decided that we're going to tentatively allow older, "straggler" gems who were involved in the war and got stranded on Earth for some reason or another. Your gem could work as one of those, but you'll probably be the only person who's allowed to have one. I'd personally prefer to see you reprise Marry though, at least to start off with.

Powers:
Space-Time Manipulation [Rank 4]: Marry can manipulate various parts of space-time, although only on a small scale.

Powers

Portals:

• Marry is able to create portals along her sight lines, joining two points of space. There can only be 2 portals open at a time.
• Portals literally link two points in space, and preserve any forces of objects that go through them.
• Portals are unaffected by things going through them and an unlimited amount of things can go through a portal pair.
• A portal without a twin does nothing but look like a flat screen of light.
• Portals can be created by firing extremely fast moving balls of light, placed on the front side of the Tower shield, or by touching an object.
• Objects that are formed by touching an object can have a portal placed on the other side of the object, even if that is not in Marry's sight lines.
• Portals formed from the balls of light can be opened in mid air or are automatically opened if they hit a solid non liquid surface. These balls can go through other portals with no issue.
• Portals on a surface will move with that surface. If a portal on a surface has its surface destroyed, the portal closes.
• Portals on surfaces remain open as long as Marry wants them to be, and Marry can close them at will even if she can't see them.
• Portals opened in the air will close after a short period of time, Marry can close these ones prematurely as well.
• Portals opened on or in a liquid count as if they were opened in the air.
• Portal edges are clearly defined, and take on the solidity of what they're placed on. Caution must be taken with a set of portals in the air, as they have no solid edge to catch you.
• Living objects will be forcibly ejected if a portal closes on them or a portal location changes, often at high speeds. Non living objects will be cut in half.

Teleportation: Marry can teleport herself a short distance along her sight lines regardless of portal locations or availability.

Levitation: Marry is unaffected by moderate gravity and can float freely in the air. She isn't very fast though.

Items: Tower Shield, Staff (Other weapon)

Backstory: Moldsvite, or Marry as she prefers to be called (Mostly because Moldy sounds icky) is a gem formed from a super dense meteorite. Due to her extremely high levels of intelligence, Marry was given a role as a scientist. A new type of gem, Marry was sent on an expedition team with a few other newborn gems to see how useful this new gem type could be to the Diamonds.

Writing example: Earth was a really interesting place. Wheverever you looked, there was evoltuion and change happening! Always more to learn, and humans learned quickly and adapted quickly. Even so, much like Homeworld, there was an air of dread around some of the bigger city centers for some reason. This thought didn't last too long, as Marry found a nice warehouse. "Oooh, new things!" She said, excited that this one was much bigger than the last one she visited. One thing about being on Earth, lots of abandoned places to search, humans weren't very optimal about space.

Digging through the various boxes in the warehouse, Marry found a few things that interested her. Sure most of them were either old electronics or plush dolls, but then anything could be used for some kind of experiment! Shame there weren't any books or anything. The library only had so many things for her to use and the internet, while nice, was sometimes wrong or didn't have any info about stuff she'd be interested in.

While there was lots of neat things to experiment with, she was there to get materials for the rest of the group. Placing what she could in a large crate, she opened a portal on a nearby wall to come pick it up later. Though considering how big and metal the crate was, Chromite would probably have to pick it up for her. Pleased with her haul, she glided out of the warehouse skylight and made her way to where her friends were waiting.

Maybe after repurposing this human tech, the misfit group of gems could find something like a gem temple or structure.

Anything extra you'd like to add: Just be careful, she might get a little Aperture Science sometimes.

Heads up on the character I'm using btw because its a rebeliom gem that i reversed for the main rp we are doing so by using him i can get stuff for his backstory and get ti use him a try to develop him in my mimd set more than him just being a sper of the moment quick male him kind of character.
