In the year 2790, man used nano-machines to build the perfect bio-mechanical enhancements and venture beyond the rim of the Milky Way Galaxy. Extending their lives by centuries, humans used these nano-machines to travel as far as their spaceships would take them.
Earth however, was now only a population of around six megacities (cities with 10 million + population). One megacity per continent with the rest of the planet torn apart by the final World War among the people of Earth was all that was left. Another million or so across the globe were already forming smaller settlements and towns anywhere near water since most tech had been rendered useless (there was no TV, social media, most vehicles weren't functional, no radio, etc). Those who ventured to the stars left the remaining population a gift. The Vanguard nano-machine serum...
It wasn't until the year 2845 the population of Earth's last cities had to select candidates for the serum for an oncoming swarm of xenomorph type aliens (from the Aliens films) who's ship crashlanded near the megacity located in Europe. Soldiers, fire fighters, doctors/surgeons, scholars... a total of sixty Vanguard in all across the globe were selected. The Vanguard managed to defeat the alien swarm within ninseventeen days and were shocked to discover their transformation into the perfect soldier was not yet complete. A stasis was ready for them to be placed in until the next crisis arose. Only two Vanguard were killed in the battle, however the three thousand or so aliens completely disabled the megacities of Earth and crippled the population. Those now deceased who weren't slaughtered starved to death which lead to more farming settlements outside of the larger megacities.
The next conflict came in 2917 when the people of Earth accepted alien refugees from a neighboring star system onto their planet in exchange for their help terra-forming much of the scorched Earh. Lush green gardens grew on top of ravaged cities in areas, but before the humans could truley get a 'new' planet, the plant like aliens turned on them forcing them to activate the Vanguard once more. Their power and skill had continued to grow in stasis and now the super soldiers were more complete. This conflict was like using an army of ninjas to mow your lawn. Only the former North American continent and Africa were terra-formed. Forests and tropic jungles were now common in both areas. One Vanguard was lost to the Agrazzian plant people before the battle was won. The remaining Vanguard were put back into stasis (now on their moon base) after only eight days of combat.
The final battle before the RP takes place was in the year 2999. Six Vanguard lost their lives in a battle that saw the super soldiers attacked on their moon base by some robotic aliens. The Horde wanted only to scrap all of the raw materials to fix their battleship to finish their way to Earth to enslave it's people. One of the scientists now has the Vanguard stasis waking them as soon as there's activity in the Milky Way Galaxy from anything extraterrestrial.
The year is now 3045....
Those remaining on Earth took a few steps back and began living a minimalist lifestyle. Something like the old west with a little technology here and there. Peace was throughout most of the lands, with only some four hundred thousand people across the globe after a virus caused from several bad food crops poisoned a great deal of the population. What happens when another war activates the Vanguard and they can't go back into stasis?
Unknown to the remaining people in smaller settlements throughout the world (in between the larger ghost cities) a threat loomed on the horizon. Half of the Vanguard were stationed on the moon, while the other half were stationed in the largest populated city on Earth (Ashwood Falls VA, a former mining town with a population of 30,412). The most advanced tech belonged to the Vanguard including weapons, teleporters, etc. Nothing could have prepared them for what was coming.
The invading army (dubbed "the Unknown") was unlike anything the Vanguard had ever seen. Advanced tech unlike anything the Vanguard had ever encountered. And the enemy seemed like it knew the people of Earth all too well. In reality the invading forces were actually some of the people who left Earth centuries earlier looking to reclaim the planet and it's growing resources for themselves. They've since tried augmenting themselves with tech as well as using advanced growth and performance enhancing steroids making everyone but the Council that commands them less human in appearance.

Now this is the first non-superhero RP I've attempted in awhile. It's mostly getting an iCheck because lately I've been playing a lot of Warframe with my son on the PS4, watching the old Guyver films and starting the animated stuff, as well as getting hyped for Destiny 2. I'm only looking for about five or six dedicated players as a lot of my superhero RP's have died way too quick lately. There's no predetermined ending here, just a population barely a fraction of what it used to be, a bunch of empty and half destroyed cities, the invading forces, and us. This is meant to be something of a war setting. We'll be defending smaller towns and colonies, the largest city on Earth I mentioned earlier, and taking the fight to the enemy. While we have the use of teleporters in specific locations, some of us may even have the ability similar to the X-Men's Nightcrawler or a Guardians in the game Destiny. Problem is though, we don't have any starships of our own to take the fight offworld.
I mentioned some of us being stationed on a base on the moon, so when shit begins to hit the fan some of us may teleport from the moon to one of the closer invading ships. Think something similar to Star Trek in design and everything. The enemy war ships are all large though and probably have at least a couple thousand enemy soldiers on each. So... this RP can begin how you guys want. We can group together here and there, but forming a team out of the entire cast isn't required since there's fifty Vanguard. Some of which can be used as fodder of course. If you let your character get injured, if they're not a healer or in possession of healing injections [something from Warframe] then you would need to find a human somewhere willing to help you.
Part of the reason I dig Warframe is because of the Guyver like designs and concepts for a lot of the characters. The players in this RP will need to choose a look from the designs in Warframe, or even concept art from fans online [which is what I'll likely go for]. On top of weapons [blades, guns, bows, etc..] your Vanguards can also have a specific power similar to the characters on Warframe that only they possess.
Since I'm only looking for a handful of players, if there's just a couple posts of interest I'll go ahead and post a CS model. Right now if you're into the idea you could go ahead and begin looking at the different 'Tenno' in Warframe or concept art for character inspiration. Underneath the armor and tech we have human faces still, however the only times we really get to socialize is when we're activated when scanners on the edge of the Milky Way pick up activity. We'll say the enemy is still at least a day or two from our location and we were activated four days earlier. So any personalities our characters may have would have time to wake up as well since we were human ourselves centuries earlier....
Here's some in-game characters as well as some fan concepts you could use. You can come up with your own code-name, so don't worry about any of the one's that may be listed. Though some of them DO sound awesome.
So... who's game?
