Been around the block, stirring up trouble and stuff, business as usual. Got some questions about is newbies though.
Firstly, what do you say for starting equipment? I'll be drawing a lot of inspiration from 40k orks, so you can be sure I got a right choppa and a good shoota. I'm thinking a nice chainsword and a small flamer. If that's too much, I've had it in my mind to carry about a high tech honking lead pipe. the secret is that it's not made of lead, but titanium. Also some other stuff I'll write up once I'm actually at a computer.
Fair enough. Where's your Codex at? I'd best read up on it before I get too far ahead of myself.
Never mind I found it. ''Tis what I get for using a cellphone to browse.
Edit: I like yer orcs, though I was wondering if you'd mind if I made a sort of community within the city that would, how to say, "create" a bit more of a boisterous and delinquent orc. I've been watching a lot of Chinese crime dramas and I've had it in my mind to create a similar environment predominately populated by orcs, though anyone can get involved.
The backbone is basically a large population of orcs have settled into a sort of cramped inner city ghetto/slum I call "Kruppus Bay". While there is a lot of tourism and trade there, the sheer concentration of people has lowered property values and attracted a sort of criminal enterprise. Leading these enterprises are various orc clans in a similar style of triads, typically being led by a patriarch while having different branches handle different areas or trade goods.
What they deal with is your average criminal stuff: hired muscles, illegal medication and narcotics, slavery and prostitution, unlisenced gambling, and a spot of corporate espionage. That's not to say there isn't a certain author nobility about them; as many gangs do, this criminal organization started as orcs banding together as an importing self-defense force against other criminal groups. Their conquest simply allowed them to claim the business of those they've driven out, under the impression that it's better for such vices and sin to be under control rather than left to roam free.
As for how this relates to my character, he is the second son of the current "Boss" of the clan. My foods brother will be inheriting the business so my guy is looking for a more honorable lifestyle in order to one day improve his family situation so that they could safely dissolve any criminal activity they do.
And that's just a concept of what I'll be making. One part of him anyways.
@Lucius CypherI like the idea a lot. And there is no reason you can't have an Orc clan like that. Angel's landing is perfect for that since it's a full sprawling metropolis so it has plenty of slums and high traffic areas. Just so long as the character itself is a Knight the background should be fine. After all the Tower is a mercenary organization so the take people like that
Nito. Also question about hybrids: do such things exist? I presume that a human can usually breed with any race? And could someone possibly be half demon?
Still hammering out the lore but I'm thinking of making my guy half-orc, with an older brother who's half demon, and their father is entirely human. If that's not possible I'll just go back to a different plan.
Sorry, mine is almost finished. Just need to get in the right mindset to complete it. Decided to stick to one character for now and introduce NPCs episodically as they're needed.
Still hammering out backstory and trying to gauge a limit to his spells/abilities. I'm thinking that while he's a decent brawler, his main focus would be spells and tech. Or more of a mechanic really. Still pondering.
AND HE'S DONE! There's probably a lot wrong with him, so uh... Please be gentle.
Name: Malakaus
Alias/Nickname: Sweetie, Pancake, Bacon, BBQ Beans, Slaughterhouse, Shrooms, Cinnamon, Mal
Rank: Knight
Appearance:
Age: Twenty Seven
Race: Half-Orc/Half-Human
Personality: Malakaus is certainly a passionate person. He tends to go all out in things and empathizes with others easily. Some may think that makes him naive and foolish, and it certainly has gotten him into more trouble than he could count. But his empathy allows him to understand others and their feelings, as well as sniff out liars who only pretend to feel the emotions they're speaking.
Malakaus is generally a nice guy who likes helping others but he also wants to be useful. He hates hearing about problems he can't solve, often getting bitter and angry at his inability to do anything but listen. His methods of solving problems tend to be overly simplistic or even detrimental, but if anyone could give him a plan that works, he will follow through with it to the best of his ability. He's a big fan of teamwork, and while he's more than willing to carry most of the burden, he's well aware that true strength comes not from an individual's skill, but from a group's ability to cooperate towards a common cause. He likes being part of big parties just as much as he likes showing off.
He has a complicated relationship with friends and family in that he has a very idealized view of both, and he tries his best to make reality fit his desires. He hates getting into arguments with friends and family and will generally back out, knowing that with his attitude things will get violent. Despite his gripes he's willing to do a lot of his family, typically murder. For his friends he is desperate for their affections and approval, so even his strongest convictions may turn a blind eye to please those he feels are people he must satisfy no matter what.
Malakaus is also a rather vicious person overall. While dramatic and boisterous, in a more serious situation he’s very bloodthirsty and violent. Rarely would he ever suggest a solution that doesn’t involve hurting someone, or doing things by force, simply because strength and power was the only two things one needed while growing up. If someone slights you, strike them. If they threaten you, slay them. If they harm your kin, leave no survivors. While this makes him rather easy to annoy, it also makes him very dangerous knowing that he would not go to war alone.
Biography/history: Malakaus was born in the city of Angel’s Landing, in an area called Krumpus Bay. Though Angel’s Landing may as well be a holy land for everyone who lives there, there will always be a shadow in the light. Krumpus Bay was that shadow: a slum and ghetto located on the waterfront, where immigrants, pirates, and thieves often travel through. A combination of undesirable living spaces, low income housing, and the sheer concentration of those down on their luck or suffering from debilitating mental illnesses without the wealth to afford care, made Krumpus Bay the breeding ground for many criminal empires.
Malakaus himself is the second son of one of the larger Warlords of Krumpus Bay, leader of the Goroshi Corporation. On the surface they are a legitimate shipping and manufacturing company that specializes in electronic and foreign export. Goroshi Corporation is also one of the main benefactors into making Krumpus Bay into a more prosperous neighborhood, increasing trade and tourism as well as giving it an active nightlife. But these acts only help hide the fact that Goroshi Corporation only gained its power through blood, with many of their top employees engaged in the business of smuggling, narcotics, slavery, unlicensed gambling, and corruption. The fact that very little is known or heard about the Goroshi Corporation's criminal background only helps them do their dark business, being left unnoticed due to their lack of infamy.
Growing up, Malakaus was certainly born with the silver spoon. While other families struggled to make rent, Malakaus’s own allowance would’ve allowed him to buy out a business on the Waterfront. Other kids had to work and go to school, Malakaus never went to school and had the best private tutors money could buy. People on the Waterfront had to fight to survive. Malakaus fought because it was fun. Generally a spoiled brat, until one day as a child, his older brother Harada took him out from the safety and comfort of the family’s mansion to see his city. To see all the misfortune and tragedy just happening outside his walls.
Harada wanted to teach Malakaus what would happen if the family never worked hard to maintain their power. That everything Malakaus loved right now would be gone, and he’d live like the rats on the outside. But for the half-orc, it made him realize that he had a power far greater than anyone else out there. A power to change things how he wanted it; to change it for the better. Harada wanted to teach Malakaus fear, but instead he was inspired to challenge the horrors before him. Malakaus was still a naive, sheltered child, but through trials and hardship that idealistic mentality was molded and shaped into a sharper, more practical form.
Malakaus first began his conquest at the young age of fourteen. Gaining the freedom to leave home on his own, Malakaus went into the city to befriend it’s inhabitants. Despite never facing true hardship, that didn’t make Malakaus soft when it came to fighting; among his tutors were his own father, who conquered the Krumpus Bay through warfare. He’d never let Malakaus be weaker than him. So when Malakaus was confronted by a gang of ruffians, he was able to handle himself well enough to earn their fear and respect. He strong-armed them into being his minions, with the promise of wealth and power if they supported him. Through them he also learned more about Krumpus Bay and the powers that control it. He learned that while the Goroshi Corporation controlled a large part of the legal matters, they were still competing with other gangs in it’s criminal underworld. Many people like Malakais’s minions flocked to the other gangs as a means of making money despite the lack of skills or credentials. So Malakaus got to work.
The young half-orc made a name for himself throughout Krumpus Bay as a kind-hearted philanthropist, getting other children to work and play with him. Of course, work and play often involved raids on criminal gangs to break up their operations, liberating those forced into working with his enemy and killing those who don’t give up. His actions haven’t gone unnoticed, and often his family would come to him and try to reign in his battles.he was antagonizing the other gangs and disturbing the careful balance his family was trying to maintain to take over with minimal lose. But Malakaus had not yet tasted defeat; he felt his recent actions have done nothing but showed constant success.
Until one day, his enemies came gm after him at full force.
Vastly outnumbered, down to a handful of other boys and cut off from reinforcements. It all happened so fast that even to this day Malakaus isn't sure how his enemies managed to arrange such a quick and precise ambush. But he was forced to face the overwhelming Might of his enemies, lead by a mighty Shemhazian-type Cambrian Demon. In a flash the warriors Malakaus had trained and gathered were cut down in an instant. It looked to be the end for Malakaus.
And the Harada arrived.
Malakaus’s brother, along with his own forces, began to cut through the enemy. Malakaus own brother fought against the Cambrian demon on his own, suffering major wounds but eventually slaying the demon in single combat. It was than that the extent of Malakaus’s actions were explained to him: He had accomplished nothing but promote chaos and bloodshed in Krumpus Bay. So many people have died from his ignorant crusade, not only people he perceives as his “enemies”, but also innocent by standards and people close to him. Four years Malakaus had fought for Krumpus Bay, for the Goroshi corporation, and all he had to show for it was a mountain of corpses.
When Malakaus was eighteen years old, his family was fed up with his carnage. Malakaus’s family shipped him out of Krumpus Bay to become a mage apprentice elsewhere in the city. He’s never really shown an aptitude for magic before, so they told him that he must become a master mage before he would be allowed back to the family. They would provide payment for his lessons and basic necessities, but beyond that Malakaus was cut off from his family’s wealth. None of his friends were around (The ones who were alive anyways). So Malakaus had to start from scratch.
It was difficult at first. Malakaus couldn’t simply tackle every issue with violence, not that he wasn’t belligerent. But the guild valued a different type of strength; one brought from magic, not from arms. So Malakaus studied. He studied magic he felt he could use, one that could fit his style. He attended his classes, stayed out of trouble for the most part, and did his best to learn. While certainly not the best student, he stuck with it.
About one year into his apprenticeship, Malakaus finally figured out what magic would suit him: Transmutation. Also known as Alteration, it was a type of magic that dealt with telekinesis, shapeshifting, and otherwise using magic to manipulate the physical world. He sought masters of Transmutation magic and learned what he could from them. Of course, while Malakaus was a decent student, he was never truly free of delinquency. Because he still needed money for his own things, he took up a job: street racing. At first he didn’t do too well, as his vehicle couldn’t compare to some of the top-of-the-line racecars others had, but as he advanced his magic and got more practice, he was eventually able to compete at a high enough level that he would sometimes win first place. While he never joined the main circuit, he made enough money for himself competing in racing tournaments.
Malakaus was an apprentice for six years. During that time his skills in magic was improved significantly, though he was still far away from becoming a master. But he had learned quite a bit about magic, as well as thinking about his future. He still wanted to come back to Krumpus Bay and help his family. He knew that he could not help them by simply fighting. And while his magic was certainly helpful in a brawl, he knew he needed something more than that. He needed a different type of strength, a new perspective. He wasn’t sure what though, until he learned of an organization that was seeking new recruits: The Tower of Stars. A paramilitary organization that provided a myriad of services. They reminded him much of his old crew back in his youth, but they were much more powerful and official.
Malakaus wasn’t sure what made him want to join the Tower of Stars. Certainly, there were plenty of other organizations who served a similar purpose but had different or even better benefits. But Malakaus needed a new perspective; he needed to learn how others deal with issues, because his way, while certainly the method he’s used to, isn’t always going to work. He know he needs to learn, and the only way he’d learn is if he experienced something new. He knew nothing about the Tower of Stars beyond what they advertise. So this would be a good chance as any.
Reason for recruitment: Trying to learn and develop himself to better help his family back at home.
Strength of Will: Potent
Magic: Malakaus specializes in Transmutation magic. Transmutation covers many different types of magic. It’s commonly known as Alchemy because it alters the physical world. Unlike some magic that conjures energy or objects out of thin air, Transmutation simply changes what currently exists. Malakaus himself taps Wild Magic to preform his spells, having spent many years in the mage guild learning how to manipulate their weave.
Malakaus's Transmutation breaks down into two different subschools of magic: Shapeshifting and Polymorph.
The Shapeshifting subschool of Transmtuation Magic involves physically warping people, beings, or objects by promoting the growth that is atypical to their natural form. Common shapeshifting spells includes the creation of additional limbs such as wings or appendages, as well as shaping inanimate objects like stone or metal.
Wings of Icarus - This basic Shapeshifting spell creates a large pair of wings from the back, going down the arm. The wings will grow around any clothing that would impede its growth. These wings alone do not provide enough lift for independent flight, but they could be used to glide from great heights or prevent deadly falls.
Aqua Lung - A basic shapeshifting spell that allows anyone the caster touches (Including themselves) to be able to breath underwater. However they also cannot breath air as they could normally. This spell has no effect on creatures that could already breath underwater, even if they can also breath air as well.
Night Eyes - This basic spell gives Malakaus the ability to see perfectly in the dark.
Warp Wood - This Apprentice level spell allows the caster to forcibly alter the shape or form of wooden objects. The warping can be used to either permanently damage objects, or even used to create an object out of wood or repair damage to wood.
Stone Shape - An Apprentice spell that allows the user to manipulate earthen materials they are touching such as stone or dirt. It does not affect proceed metal; it can affect things such as concrete or obsidian, but not refined iron or manifactured glass. This spell can be used to form an existing piece of stone into any shape that suits your purpose.
Stone Golem - An Apprentice spell that creates a golem out of any nearby stones or rocks. Highly resistant against most physical attacks, but weak against ice. The Golem is considered a mindless construct that follows the caster’s commands, using their knowledge to follow through it. Stone Golems normally only last for a few minutes, though a ritual can be used to create a permanent stone golem.
The Polymorph subschool, often confused for the Shapeshifting subschool, physically changes the properties of an object into another. This subschool of magic can do such things like turn lead into gold, transform people into frogs, or give someone skin as tough as iron.
Stone Fists - This spell transforms the caster’s hands into living stone. This allows the caster to not only strike with their fist with greater weight and hardness, but also handle objects of extreme temperatures either hot or cold. Additionally their hands are hard enough to break most normal materials, such as stone, wood, or iron.
Rock Shape - This spell turns the caster into a rock in any size of their choice, either their size or smaller. In this form they can perceive the environment around them as they regularly are able to. The caster can choose what form and appearance their Rock Shape is, such as a mundane looking stone, or even a statue made of rock. In this form the caster does not need to breath, however they still need to sleep and eat.
Alter Self - This Apprentice spell allows the caster to change their physical appearance into another creature or person of a similar shape. This spell could be used to make someone physically smaller, taller, or even a different gender. It can also change the voice and scent of a person. This spell also provides a limited amount of additional abilities depending on the form taken: an aquatic form will grant an increased ability to swim and breath underwater, while winged forms could provide some level of flight, or subterranean forms could provide darkvision. This spell does not, however, weaken, increases, or otherwise change the caster’s own physical ability: they remain the same regardless of what form they take. This spell also does not grant any abilities of a creature that is inherently magical in nature, such as a siren’s voice or an elf’s proficiency with magic.
Stoneskin - This Apprentice level spell turns their flesh into living stone, making their entire body more resistant against physical attacks by providing a natural armor. However this also triples the weight of the body, though the caster themselves are not encumbered by this increase in weight.
In addition to Transmutation magic, Malakaus is well verse in Force magic. He specifically draws from the Psychic subschool, which uses magic to manipulating physics to a desired end. Some commonly known Psychic spells include Telekinesis, Flight, and Mage Armor. A very utility based magic, allowing one to interact with the physical and magical world from afar.
Force Wave - A basic self-defense spell of the Force Subschool. This spell creates a wave of kinetic energy that could either be shot as a large blast to stagger opponents, or a concentrated push to knock back enemies. The damage itself is comparatively minor compared to other self-defense spells, but it’s main usage is it’s ability to put space between yourself and your foes. One can concentrate to create a more powerful blast.
Mage Hands - A minor telekinetic effect. This creates a pair of ethereal hands that only the caster could see. These hands allow the caster to manipulate objects as if he was using his own hands, with strength equal to the caster’s own. However it has limited combative application due to the fragility of the Mage Hands, and any strong enough force can cause the mage hands to be dismissed, such as using them as fists or if they get shot by a stray bullet.
Mage Armor - An apprentice level Force spell. This spell requires some time and energy to use, but once used the armor will last for twenty four hours, or until the armor is dismissed. Mage armor creates an invisible layer of force hovering inches above the caster’s skin which provides some physical protection. While most actual armors are more protective than Mage Armor, Mage Armor as the advantage of providing its protection against incorporeal and magical attacks, as well as providing no encumbrance to use it.
Steadfast Ward - An apprentice level force spell that creates a shimmering telekinetic force field in front of the caster’s hand. This shield provides defensive abilities similarly to Mage Armor, and both are often used together for defensive mages. Wards however are specifically designed to deal with ranged attacks, such as bullets or fireballs. Such attacks will either be blocked or deflected, depending on the strength of the attack and the durability of the Ward. Relatively slower moving weapons such as swords and axes may also be deflected, however they also have a greater chance of breaking through a ward depending on the skill of the user.
God relations: Malakaus himself does not venerate any deities in particular, though his family has always paid their respects to their ancestors. Malakaus believes that the Goroshi family has some way of calling upon their Ancestors for advice, protection, or power, however if there is such an ability Malakaus doesn’t have it.
Tech: Malakaus has a few cybernetic organs in his body due to injuries sustained in his youth. Specifically he has his liver, kidneys, and lungs replaced with cybernetic versions that are more durable and resistant against disease, poison, and erosion. He also has a large tattoo on his back that is the Goroshi family sigil, said to provide protection from maligned forces. Whether or not that’s true, Malakaus isn’t sure, but he believes it has power simply because he isn't dead yet.
Malakaus owns a MTs255, what many consider a relic of the past. It is a revolver shotgun that Malakaus had specifically commissioned to be far more durable than most other firearms, allowing him to utilize this gun as a club. Additionally, he carries a variety of bullets both technological and magical.
Pellet - The traditional “Buckshot” bullet, this fires a spread of metal pellets that shreds flesh and breaks bones easily, though tends to fare poorly against properly armored foes. Short to medium range.
Slug - Fires a large caliber bullet bigger than most rifle rounds. Not only more capable of piercing through armor, a slug has far greater range than a regular pellet shot, allowing Malakaus to use his shotgun as a sightless sniper rifle. Medium to long range.
Beanbag - A less-lethal ammunition that Malakaus carries where he cannot risk his shots killing friendlies or bystanders. The weighted beanbag allows it to be effective even against armored foes through blunt force trauma. While meant to not kill, it can still do so thanks to having enough force to cause bloody bruises or even break bones. Short range.
Water Cutter - An expensive technological type of shotgun bullet that is specially designed to shoot a high pressure blade of water at a target. This type of bullet is meant to be used to disable and destroy explosives, such as a bomb vest or IED. Short range.
Tracker - A technological bullet that plants a tracking beacon in targets it strikes. Could potentially kill organic targets. Will fail to do any damage against hardened or armored targets. Medium to long range.
Breach Load - This shot consist of lead dust meant to be used to breach doors br destroying hinges and locks. Can be used against targets for painful effect. Point Blank.
Flare - This shot fires a very bright and loud flare. Comes in a variety of colors. Typically used for signalling, though it is also capable of causing certain things to catch on fire. Long range.
Darkness - A magical bullet that causes the impact point of the bullet to emanate darkness in a twenty-feet radius. The darkness wears off after an hour. Medium to long range.
Force - A magical bullet that fires a wide-range blast of force strong enough to not only knock back any foe caught in the blast, but also knock Malakaus off his feet if he isn’t properly braced. Short Range.
Dragon Breath - Unlike the normal version, this magic bullet is more accurate to an actual dragon’s fire breath. This bullet shoots a gout of flame from the shotgun up to sixty feet in a straight line. Short range.
Earthbond - An expensive magic shot. Those struck by this bullet are forced to the ground, even if they are capable of magical or mundane flight. The effects wears off after ten minutes, but if the bullet is still inside of the target then the effect is permanent until the bullet is removed. Long range.
Magic Missile - Cheap, weak magical bullets. About as powerful as a birdshot but capable of homing in on targets regardless of what sort of armor or cover they have, or even if they’re normally fast enough to dodge a bullet. Only certain types of magical shields can absorb a magic missile.
Malakaus also owns and maintains a buggy he has named Annabeth. It can seat up to two people in the cab and two in the back (Or one large person). Annabeth was built for speed and durability, as she was a racing buggy during Malakaus’s street racing days. She lacks any sort of onboard weapon or fancy defenses aside from ramming into things or evasive maneuvers respectively. A bit of a gas guzzler. While keys are needed to get inside it also is also voice activated and keyed to Malakaus’s voice unless the emergency password is used.
Lastly Malakaus owns a magic item called a Traveler’s Any Tool. It looks like a 12-inch iron bar, with spokes and knobs placed around it. It can be folded, twisted, hinged, extended, and bent, to form almost any known tool. Hammers, machetes, shovels, buckets, even a pair of scissors. As long as it doesn’t have too many moving parts. For example it can turn into a padlock, but not a length of chain. Regardless of what form it takes it always weighs one pound.
Possessions/items/property: Typically aside from clothing, Malakaus also has his keys, his cellphone, and two wallets. One is a regular wallet that carries his money and card, while another wallet is filled with fake money and cards. The cash is counterfeit and sewn into the wallet itself, and whenever the fake card is used Goroshi Corporation is alerted of it. There is a cheap GPS tracker inside the wallet itself that Malakaus can use to track the wallet should he ever lose it or get it stolen.
Malakaus owns a pet cat named Sfyr. He believes it’s magical as it has a faint magical aura, however so far it has not done anything unusual for a cat. Oddly good at killing dire vermin and fishing with it’s tail.
Malakaus currently rents an apartment near the mage’s guild that also houses Annabeth. A fairly humble home, has your usual necessities as well as a personal desktop for Malakaus’s own use.
Malakaus also owns but currently does not possess a magic axe. Axes are the traditional weapon of the Goroshi family, and Malakaus’s axe has a mysterious enchantment that he can unlock during dire times. However his axe is in his family’s home, which he cannot return to until he has become a master wizard.
Misc: Malakaus is currently a Warlord in an online MMO game called “Blood and Honor: Eternal Conquest”. He is infamous in-game for his ability to defeat and conquer enemies who vastly outnumber him, often facing their armies alone. Many suspect him of cheating, however he is simply very good at the combat aspect of the game. He occasionally participates in online tournaments for cash and prizes.
Although he isn’t there to manage it personally Malakaus still has a considerable amount of pull in Krumpus Bay, and his old crew the “Armageddon Gang” still operates in the area though without the Goroshi Company support. They largely maintain the territory Malakaus had conquered in his youth, but they have only been able to do so due to the lack of gang violence in that area.
Many of Malakaus’s nicknames are street names he’s earned in his youth. They’re mostly food based because he liked to throw lavish feasts for his friends in lower-income neighborhoods. “Sweetie” is a general nickname he got from various girls and old women because of his kind nature. Pancake is more of an insult because he once tried to stop a car by smashing it with an axe. He failed and got ran over, though he recovered. Bacon is also a somewhat insulting pet name he got when he admitted to many of his friends that the only food he could cook at the time was bacon (He’s a much more competent chef now). BBQ Beans he gained during a food eating competition, in which he won the BBQ Beans eating contest. Slaughterhouse is a name he gained when he went directly into an enemy gang’s hideout and butchered everyone inside, drenching himself in blood and gore. Shrooms is a shorthand for Mushrooms, one of Malakaus’s favorite food. Cinnamon is Malakaus’s favorite spice. And Mal is just an abbreviated form of his name.
Malakaus is a competent fighter, having spent much of his youth in deadly street fights. Even when he went to the guild he kept his skills sharp in nonlethal magical duels, which often are much more physical than most would expect wizard duels to be. He’s a competent sharpshooter, another skill he picked up thanks to his time waging gang warfare. Also while he was an apprentice mage he went hunting.
Malakaus has an ex-girlfriend named Atisha who he was dating back in his youth. They broke up when Malakaus’s actions started to raise tensions in Krumpus Bay but unknowingly to both Atisha is pregnant with Malakaus’s child, a baby girl. She’s eight years old.
To the surprise of some Malakaus is actually quite a skilled dancer and singer, a skill he picked up when he ran his gang back in his youth. They would participate in dance battles against friendly gangs and Malakaus himself wanted to do some rap battles though he lacks the creativity of making good rap verses and lacks lyrical flow. Still he’s got a sweet voice and sweet moves.
Shemhazian Demon- True Demons level city blocks, so it was probably a Cambrion or some other half breed
Transmutation- This is another term for alchemy in this world, but it doesn't deal with Telekinesis, Shapeshifting yes.
Its a type of Force Magic or in individuals with a Superior will its a literal manifestation of their Will in the world. Keeping in mind that Force magic is a separate school of magic so to speak.
bind mana- Magic on its own is simply referred to as Magic, Mana might be a guild specific term but from what I can tell the character is using Wild magic so he'll be drawing on the ambient magic of Galendar for all of his power as opposed to having it given to him by a God or an object.
Aboleth’s Lung- get your D&D reference out of here lol they are called Abberants, but seriously name change is all with this one.
Malakaus currently rents an apartment near the mage’s guild that also houses Annabeth. A fairly humble home, has your usual necessities as well as a personal desktop for Malakaus’s own use.- This is fine though the Tower of Stars has its own Barracks for those who wish to live on sight. Keeping in mind the Tower should be a separate entity from the Mage guild.
Beyond that, and those are pretty knit picky In my opinion, the character looks good. @Lucius Cypher
