And thank you for the compliment. ^^ I try to avoid using too many references and characters that aren't relative to the story because it can become a bit self-indulgent but at the same time they help build the story (As Merlin will agree). If side-characters are your kind of thing, you're definitely in the right place. :)

The first two ideas that came to mind was that they fought each other in an underground Fight Club for mages, or they simply met each other while Malakaus was applying I the Tower of Stars.

TBH the first option appealed to me the most. They both join a Wiard Battle just to blow off steam, fight each other, etc.

Essentially something along the lines of a mysterious young woman that 'seemingly' appeared from nowhere and for.. some.. reason.. joined the tower! Yeah, pretty vague idea atm. =3

Sorry its kind of late for me so you'll find in the morning you get responses that are like two words and then in the evening for me you get paragraphs about my life. So shadow fae. You read the codex yet? You might want to consider a Shadow Marked Djinn instead. Though if you want the Fae thing I suggest Winter Court and Shadow Elementalist. Maybe not an elf we have lots of half breeds but I don't think we have pure blood elder sidhe. I read your Bio. Not that I'm suggesting it but Gaelieans are a thing too if you like anthropomorphic characters
